*EPISODE 18*
((CHANGE OF RULES))
Early the next day, the three met at the new apartment where Oye and her grandmother were staying to discuss their plans.
“I still can’t believe your father chose money over you. You’re his only daughter, for heaven’s sake.” Oye said. “So if all this rape saga was not planned, is that how he would have handled the issue?” she asked.
“I’m just speechless,” Abeni said shaking her head.
“They are birds of the same feather, so what exactly were you expecting?” Bayo asked.
“This was like me giving him a once in a lifetime opportunity to do something right for once in his life. But he still proved that a leopard cannot change its stripes,” Abeni said.
“It’s all right, Abeni. At least we’ll soon expose all of them in our own way,” Oye said rubbing her back.
“Abeni. Will you be okay seeing your video everywhere tomorrow?. Because as soon as we release this video you will become the new topic in town. So I want to know if you are fully ready for this.” Bayo said.
“I haven’t been more ready in my life,” Abeni replied.
People woke up the next day and found on the internet the video of Gerald trying to rape Abeni.
When people saw the video, they got a different perception of Gerald. Some had to revisit his rape case 18 years ago. Which got people wondering if the allegation leveled against him 18 years ago was even false as he made it appear.
The video reached Gerald Lawan, who couldn’t believe his eyes as he stared at his phone.
“What?.” He shouted out of disbelief.
The video went viral and caught the attention of reporters, who became interested to hear what he had to say about the video, which was trending online.
Adekunle Lawan saw the video and was also angry. He quickly called Gerald to find out what was going on and how it happened.
“I’m as confused as anything right now. Because I really can’t explain how this video came out.” Gerald complained.
“Which blog posted it first?.” Adekunle Lawan asked.
“It’s a new blog called the O.B.A blog,” Gerald said.
But unknown to them, O.B.A stood for Oye, Bayo, and Abeni.
“How did the person behind this blog get the video that’s been circulating online?” Adekunle Lawan asked.
“Exactly my question. Nobody else knows about this incident. So how come? And I don’t remember seeing a security camera in my hotel room. So I don’t just understand how all these came to be.” Gerald said.
“What if this is all Chief Afolabi’s handwork im order to get back at you for going after his daughter?” Adekunle Lawan asked.
“It’s not possible, father because I paid him to bury the case,” Gerald said.
“In that case, who exactly recorded this video?” Adekunle asked.
“That’s not the problem, father. The problem is that everyone is waiting to hear what I have to say about this video.” Gerald complained.
“The only thing you can do right now is to find a means to debunk the news. Just label her a prostitute, or better yet, get her father to debunk the news himself. I believe that is part of what he was paid for,” Adekunle Lawan said.
Chief Afolabi, still trying to figure out how the video leaked online, was still playing the video in his office when a call came in from Gerald.
“Hello, Chief Afolabi,” Gerald greeted.
“Hello, the incoming governor.” Chief Afolabi hailed.
“Chief, this is no time for pleasantries. I assume you’ve seen the video circulating online” Gerald said.
“Yes. But how did that happen?” Chief Afolabi asked.
“I should be the one asking you that chief. Because I paid you to bury this case,” Gerald said.
“Meaning?. Are you by any means trying to say I was behind the video circulation?. Look, Gerald, I also do not know where the video came from. I’m just as confused and clueless as you are,” Chief Afolabi said.
“Look, this isn’t the time for any of this. I want you to come out and debunk the news. If possible, bring your daughter with you. And tell the media it wasn’t rape. Just come out and say anything that can help clear my name and get me out of this mess. Because this will greatly affect my chances of winning the election. I mean, who will want to elect a rapist as the next governor?. Please, Chief, you have to do something about this.” Gerald pleaded.
“Getting my daughter to join me in debunking the news will be very difficult because she already hates me for telling her to bury the case. So this very thing you are asking of me will be very tough.” Chief Afolabi said.
“Please Chief do this for me. You know what?. just name your price and it will be sent to you,” Gerald said.
“It’s okay Gerald, I’ll see what I can do to help you.” Chief Afolabi assured.
Unbeknownst to them, Bayo, Oye, and Abeni overheard their conversation as they ad tapped Chief Afolabi’s phone, which allowed them to listen to every conversation he was having on his phone.

flashback.
Bayo had given Abeni a substance to add to her father’s favorite wine.
After drinking the wine, Chief Afolabi fell into a deep sleep in the living room. Then Abeni came out of her room to confirm if he had fallen asleep. After confirming that he was sound asleep, Abeni quickly grabbed his phone, and following Bayo’s instructions she was able to tap her father’s phone.

Present day.
Hearing their conversation sent Bayo, Abeni, and Oye into shock.
“In fact, these people are animals,” Bayo said.
Gerald was still trying to cope with the rape situation when the voice recording of his recent conversation with Chief Afolabi broke out.
This time people were amazed at how far he could go to bury his evil deeds. And Chief Afolabi wasn’t left out either. He got backlash from people for being a bad father. And to save himself, he quickly went to the media and told them that Gerald had offered him some money to bury the case. But he returned the money after thinking about it. While the money was still cooling off in his account.
Gerald and Adekunle Lawan watched the news and we’re both angry at how Chief Afolabi publicly turned against them.
And as such, Adekunle Lawan called Chief Afolabi and said:
“If my son goes down because of your stupid actions. Then get ready to go down with him.” He threatened.
While they were still trying to get the problem under control, the worst happened.
Bayo anonymously contacted the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) and sent them the location of Gerald’s secret warehouse where he hid some of the stolen funds he got from his father, as well as some illegal drugs and weapons.
It was shocking when they came to pick him up. The news went viral and this automatically ended the possibility of him winning or contesting in the upcoming election.
Meanwhile, Bayo, Abeni, and Oye were just relaxing and enjoying the show with their popcorn and legs crossed.
How everything happened so quickly terrified Chief Afolabi as he began to wonder who was actually behind all that was going on.
While Gerald was being interrogated, it seemed like he was about to pay for his crimes, not until his father stepped in and started making plans on how he could get away with his crimes by making use of his money and connections.
When Bayo saw that in the end, all their efforts would yield no positive results as they had thought, he was then left with no choice but to take laws into his own hands. And as such, he contacted Kunle (Killer K) and told him what to do.
Adekunle Lawan secretly made arrangements to fly Gerald out of the country after using money to silence the officials in charge of his son’s case. So he could escape going to court which could possibly land him in prison. But unfortunately, Bayo had other plans for him.
While he was secretly driving to the airport without his escorts, because he didn’t want to be noticed, an oncoming truck came out of nowhere and swept him off the road at a full speed.
It wasn’t long before the news of his death broke out. And of course, nobody suspected his death to be a case of murder just like 18 years ago.
Adekunle Lawan was heartbroken when he heard the news of his son’s death, but what broke his heart, even more, was when his men told him they had found a wristwatch at the scene of the accident. And looking at the watch, Adekunle Lawan realized that it was his birthday gift to Chief Afolabi few years ago. He then suspected that it was Chief Afolabi who was behind his son’s death, and as such he vowed to repay him with his own coin.
“Congratulations. You’ve managed to kill my son with your old method of making a murder look like a natural death. But I promise you Afolabi. That this time it will be an eye for an eye. I’ll make sure you lose everything you’ve gained through me. You traitor.” He raged on the phone.
“What are you talking about? I didn’t do it. I don’t have a hand in your son’s death, so what exactly are you talking about?” Chief Afolabi asked totally confused.
“And you want me to believe that when your wristwatch was found at the scene of the accident?” Adekunle Lawan asked.
When Chief Afolabi heard this, he couldn’t believe his ears. He then knew with certainty that someone close to him was the master planner of all that was going on.
“Someone is definitely trying to drag me down but who could it be?” He asked himself.
