Change of rules Episode 14

*EPISODE 14*
((CHANGE OF RULES))

“So where do we start from?” Abeni asked.

“We will start from the root of all these problems. And that is with the governor aspirant Gerald Lawan. It’s high time he had a taste of his own pills,” Bayo said clenching his fist.

“So how do we tackle him?. Because these people are politicians and going after them is only going to backfire and possibly get us killed.” Oye said.

“The easiest way to get a rat is to use what the rat likes to eat best. Something it absolutely can’t resist.” Bayo said with a mischievous smile.

“So in Gerald’s case, what does he love most?” Oye asked.

“What else if not women?” Abeni said crossing her leg.

“Exactly. But we won’t give him women. We will bring out the rapist in him. It’s high time the world saw him for who he really is” Bayo said.

“So, how do we carry out this plan of ours?” Abeni asked.

“I’m sure there will be an opportunity to meet with him. Because from what I’ve found out so far, it’s obvious that he’s a party lover,” Bayo said.

“So we just have to find out when and where he’s going to have his next party, right?” Abeni asked.

“Exactly. And we need to find a woman who can effectively lure him into bed and fake a rape scene,” Bayo said.

“Then I will do it,” Oye said.

“No, I will do it.” Abeni insisted.

“Oye, I don’t think it’s wise for you to go around showing your face. Remember that you’re supposed to be dead. And apart from that, we live in a society where the poor have no voice. If you come out to say you were raped by the governor aspirant, they might just devise a means of silencing you and debunking the news as fake just like they did 18 years ago. But if the rape victim happens to be a rich man’s child, they will have a hard time shutting her up or sweeping the matter under the rug,” Bayo said.

“I think you’re right about that. Imagine what will happen when news of Gerald Lawan attempting to rape Chief Afolabi’s only daughter breaks out. My goodness. It will spread like wildfire. Bayo is so smart.” Abeni said smiling.

“And with that, we can cause a huge rift between them. Because I doubt Chief Afolabi will be able to stand still or shut up when his only daughter was raped by the son of his political father and mentor.” Bayo said with a mischievous grin on his lips. Then he turned to Oye and said, “Your task is to find a means by which we can create a blog. Just like your mother’s. And through this blog, we can spread all their evil deeds around the world. As for you, Abeni, I would like you to get in touch with Ahmed. Tell him to conduct a proper and detailed investigation into Gerald Lawan,” Bayo said.

“I doubt he’ll agree to that again,” Abeni said.

“No. Ahmed will agree. All you have to do is assure him of the safety of his family. And you can probably come up with a threat.” Bayo said.

“Speaking of safety? What about my grandmother?” Oye asked.

“She will be taken to a safe place. There is an apartment that I bought a year ago. I don’t think anyone can track them down there,” Abeni said.

“Well, in that case, Oye needs to start thinking of another convincing lie to tell her. Cause she might not easily agree to move out” Bayo said.

“He is actually speaking from experience,” Oye said and everyone burst out laughing.

“Honestly, that woman is hard to fool,” Bayo said.

“In that case, how about you just tell her that Bayo got her a new apartment?. Wouldn’t that be enough to make her agree to leave this house?” Abeni asked.

“How come I never thought of that?. Yes, I think she will easily fall for this very lie.” Oye said optimistically.

When Abeni got home, she contacted Ahmed and asked him to conduct a detailed investigation of Gerald Lawan.

“Are you trying to get me killed or what?” Ahmed raged at Abeni.

“Relax. Nobody is trying to kill anyone here. I’m just trying to get these bad men to pay for their crimes,” Abeni said.

“And you think you can stand up to them?” Ahmed asked, looking at her doubtfully.

“Yes, Ahmed. With your help. And for your family, I am making arrangements for them to leave this country. At least until all this drama is over,” Abeni said.

“And what if I don’t want to be part of these deadly plans of yours?” Ahmed asked.

“Then you leave me no choice but to tell my father about the last investigation you did for me,” Abeni said folding her arms.

Hearing this, Ahmed shot a quick look at her with his eyes widened with shock and disbelief.

“You don’t mean that, do you?” He asked.

“Just try me,” Abeni dared him.

Ahmed saw how serious she meant every word she said, Ahmed had no choice but to comply with her demand.

“Fine, I will do it.” He said reluctantly, with his palm on his forehead. “But you must make sure that my family is kept safe.” He said.

“I promise. And once you’re done with all these investigations, you will get a visa to leave this country.” Abeni promised.

“Alright then. So what should I find out about him?” Ahmed asked.

“All his dirty business. Something big enough to put food on the table of bloggers,” Abeni said.

“I understand what you mean,” Ahmed said nodding his head.

“And one more thing. If my father should one day ask you to go and verify if Oye and her grandmother are truly dead, then I want you to tell him that they are dead. I hope you understand?” Abeni asked.

“Shhh… sure.” Ahmed stammered nodding his head.

“Good. That will be all for today,” Abeni said.

To make Chief Afolabi believe that Oye and her grandmother were dead, Bayo didn’t show up for work.

And when Chief Afolabi found out about his absence, he went to Abeni’s office to ask her if Bayo had told her his reasons for not coming to work. And Abeni went on to say;

“He said he wasn’t in the right mood. And it all started when he found out that nurse Oye and her grandmother had died,” she said.

“And why does that bother him? I thought he said he didn’t have anything going on between them,” Chief Afolabi asked.

“I guess he took them as his family,” Abeni said.

“Family, my foot. Don’t even think about bothering him. Let him mourn them to his satisfaction.” Chief Afolabi said.

As he left her office, Abeni smiled mischievously.

Meanwhile, Bayo, who was assumed to be at home, had gone to fetch some boys. He paid them and told them to launch an attack against Kunle (killer k).

Kunle, who had been given a car by Chief Afolabi, was driving down a certain street when a van pulled up in front of him. He was still trying to understand what was happening when certain men opened fire and shot at him. He had to quickly change the route to save himself, but at the end of that route, another group of boys came.

Coincidentally, Bayo, driving through the same street, saw Kunle in trouble and came to his rescue. He shot one of the boys and the rest ran away. But then he saw them drop Kunle’s picture.

This single act of his made Kunle fall in love with him. He felt indebted to Bayo for saving his life.

“I wonder who must have sent them,” Kunle said, staring at his picture.

“It’s only someone who knows you know his secrets and is trying to cover up his evil deeds that would do such a thing,” Bayo said, trying to sow a seed of misconception in Kunle’s heart against his superiors.

“It sure looks like Adekunle Lawan’s handwork,” Kunle said.

Hearing this, Bayo was satisfied that he gave him a mischievous grin.

“Why don’t you show him what you’re made of?” At least so they don’t take you for granted anymore.” Bayo asked looking at Kunle.

“I think you’re right about that. I was told that Gerald Lawan will be throwing a birthday party for his wife this weekend. How about if I give him a surprise package?” Künle asked.

Hearing this, Bayo was thrilled when he found out that Gerald is going to throw a birthday party. At last, he now knows where and how to finally get to him.

“Not yet. I have already booked a surprise package for him. You only have to attack him when I give you the signal.” Bayo said.

“But who are you?. We keep meeting in strange ways.” Kunle said.

“I’m just like you. A puppet dog who is tired of barking at his master’s call and has decided to break free from his chains and bite his greedy and selfish master who only feeds him bones,” Bayo said.

“I like your choice of words. They are usually filled with determination and fearlessness. But how did you find me here?” Kunle asked.

“I have to admit that my coming here was no coincidence. I overheard Adekunle Lawan talking about how he plans to get rid of you before the election. And I was there when he ordered these guys to kill you. He said he would lure you out so they could pounce on you.” Bayo lied.

“Wait a minute. Was that the reason for his call this morning?” Kunle asked in disbelief.

“I told you, didn’t I?” Bayo shrugged. “In the meantime, I will advise you to stay away from anything related to Chief Afolabi, Adekunle Lawan, and his son Gerald Lawan. Because they’re all birds of one feather,” Bayo said.

“Thank you for saving me the second time. Here is my contact. Just let me know whenever you need my help.” Kunle said and typed his number to Bayo, who happily copied it from his cell phone.

As soon as Kunle drove away, Bayo smiled and said;

“Chief Afolabi. I will use everything you taught me to bring you and your cohorts down. This is just the beginning.” He smiled.

Then he dialed Abeni’s number.

“Hello, Bayo. How far?” Abeni asked.

“Get ready. We have a birthday party to attend this weekend. It’s high time the world knew what kind of person Gerald Lawan truly is.” He said.
