HER GHOST. 3
Beads of perspiration appeared on my forehead like the early morning dews on fresh leaves.
“I don’t mean to scare you miss, but that building is haunted by a ghost”
Like seriously?
I found his statement ridiculous. How can he say he doesn’t mean to scare me, when that is exactly what he was doing?
My fear was heightened and I felt my whole body shaking like on placed on an electric chair. I immediately braced myself, stood up and took to my heels. Before he got to know what was happening I was already on the opposite side.
I ran with all my might, like a thief who was being chased by an angry mob. On and on I went without looking back. Not minding the voice of the shop owner who was calling on me to pay for the things I ate.
I was quite lucky that I haven’t fully packed in, so I had little issues in grabbing my few belongings. I rushed downstairs and was about crossing to the opposite direction but immediately I stopped in my tracks.
“Abby”
I heard my name and immediately I recognized the voice. I took a swift turn and I almost dropped dead at the sight before me. I stood rooted at a spot staring at Anny who was smiling at me through the window.
My heart raced at the sight of her and without much care I took to my heels and made to cross to the opposite direction. what followed was the screeching of tires followed by a loud bang and an aching pain at the back of my head.
My eyelids slowly kissed and immediately everything went blank.
