Part 17

“What are you doing here again, mama? Please, allow me to die. I am tired of living.” Adura said when pastor’s wife pinched her.
“What is wrong with you? I have been calling your name times without number, but you’ve been lost in your thoughts for so long to the extent that you didn’t know someone was calling you.” She said.
“I want to die, mama. Why is it always me! Why am I always unfortunate in life? Why am I always betrayed? Why am I always unloved? Why???” Adura cried.
Pastor’s wife was moved to tears. She couldn’t help but wrap her hands around Adura”s neck.
I understand all you have been through. But, do you think killing yourself is the best option?
“Yes, ma. Committing suicide is the best option for me. I need to be free from all the hell I am passing through. Just let me go. Enough is enough.” Adura said, allowing those tears to flow freely like a running tap.
“Well, you have a good reason to commit suicide. But, suicide isn’t the best option for you. Are you trying to tell me that your situation is beyond hope? Are you telling me you are the only one on earth passing through tough time?
Oh no! I need to tell you at this very junction that you are passing through all you are passing through because God permitted it. You can’t tell me you are wiser than God. He alone understands why He allow things to happen in your life.
Mind you, you are not the first person to be disabled. You are not the first person to be passing through storms. Many people passing through fierce situations, and never thought of commiting suicide. They came out stronger.
I believe your situation should bring out the very best in you. I really believe it should make you stronger.
The fact that you are disabled doesn’t mean God so much hated you like a piece of trash. He made you who you are today for a reason. Yes, for His glory to be made manifested. He didn’t make any mistake creating you just as you are, but instead of you to embrace who you are with joy, you are hear thinking of suicide because you think you aren’t loved.
Who told you that you aren’t loved? Even if the whole world hate you, just don’t hate yourself. Fall in love with yourself. Fall in love with everything about you.* Pastor’s wife said.
She just couldn’t help those tears. Adura cried and cried over and over again till she had no strength to cry. The words she heard from pastor’s wife touched the right part in her heart.
“It’s good to cry, my dear. Cry and wipe those tears with the determination to move on in life, becoming the best version of yourself.” pastor’s wife said while preventing the tears that were about to drop from her eyes.
“Mummy, I have tried all my best to love myself. I just can’t stop seeing myself as an unfortunate being.”: Adura lamented.
“My dear, I understand you perfectly. But, I want to assure you that you can fall in love with yourself. :Dear, pick a book and a pen. Pastor’s wife instructed
Adura went for her book and a pen. She was so excited having someone she could confide in
“My dear, in your book, answer the following questions.” She said as she listed those questions.
Number one: What is that thing you are very good at?
Number two: What is that thing about you,you really admire?
Number three: What is that thing people admire so much in you?
Number four: Write 5 parts of your body you really admire.
Number five: Write those areas you don’t like in your self.
Number six: Can anything be done to those areas you don’t like?
Number seven: Do you think there is nothing that can be done about that part of your life you don’t like?
Number eight: If things happened maybe because God allowed them to happen, what will be your disposition?
Number nine: Will you commit suicide because some things happened to you by fate?
Number ten: Will you accept yourself just as you are , appreciate God and work towards becoming the best version of yourself?
“Let me have your book.” Pastor’s wife said, stretching her hands to collect her book.
Why ADURAGBEMI handed over her book to pastor’s wife. Pastor’s wife couldn’t stop smiling when she went through her answers.
“Now, write the following words of affirmation down and recite every morning and night.” Pastor’s wife said as she dictated those words of affirmation.
New ADURAGBEMI arose!
“But, how do I deal with betrayal, mum. My biological sister betrayed me. My boyfriend left me for her. My own sister!!!” Adura asked.
“Remember, there is nothing that ever happens to you that has never happened to someone before. Many people were betrayed by their so called parents, but never committed suicide because they have stories to tell.
Dear, leave your sister alone. One day, she will definitely reap whatsoever she sows. Just ensure you release her from your heart. Don’t have anything against her. Just forgive and forget what she did, because if only she knew how beautiful and great you would be, she would have taken good care of you without betraying you. Nevertheless, forgive her and move on! Build yourself to the extent that the value you are carrying is difficult to be ignored.
“All right, ma. I will work on myself. I will stop bothering myself about my sister and my ex.” Adura said.
“You got that right.” pastor’s wife declared joyfully while packing her things together.
After few minutes, pastor’s wife left.
Adura became better. She was highly motivated.
Just a soft knock on the door and a push, Sade and her boyfriend walked in.
What did they do?
To be continued.
