Øgbanjé. Part 5
“In the mighty name of Jesus, I cast you out”. The pastor shouted.
“Amen!”. My mom and I chorused.
Obiageli began to crawl on the floor. Her eyes were wide opened. She looked so scary and dangerous.
“Leave this body now!!”. The pastor shouted.
He brought out a bottle of Holy water.
He mixed the holy water with some anointing oil.
He prayed over them again and he started sprinkling it on Obiageli.
Immediately the mixture touched Obiageli, she went wild.
She was jumping and screaming. At a point, she became vîølent and almost attacked me physically.
The pastor kept on sprinkling the mixture on her.
She was still manifesting and reacting to it.
After awhile, she didn’t make any movement. She just laid in the floor as though dèad.
“Is she okay? Hope she isn’t dèad?”. I asked still panicking.
The pastor didn’t say anything to me. He kept on blasting in tôngues.
Suddenly, Obiageli started laughing hysterically.
I panicked because that wasn’t Obiageli voice. Obiageli has never ever laughed like that.
“Who are you?”. The pastor questioned the voice.
“I only entered the body of this child not to cause harm but you people are provoking me”. The voice spoke through Obiageli. It was a woman’s voice.
“I command you to leave this body and go to wherever you came from”. The pastor shouted.
“I will never leave. Ten of you can’t make me leave. Not even thousands of you”. The voice said.
“Go and get me salt, cinnamon and thyme”. The pastor instructed.
I quickly rushed to my kitchen and brought them for him.
He mixed the thyme and cinnamon together and used the mixture to draw a circle on the floor.
In the middle of the circle, he used the salt to draw a cross. He brought out a white candle from his bag and lit it and placed it in the circle.
Obiageli started screaming again. This time, she was in severe pain.
“This body doesn’t belong to you. By the power of the most high God, I command you to leave this body immediately”. The pastor screamed.
The voice spoke again. This time around, it was with the voice of a baby.
“Don’t send me away please. I just want to enjoy and nothing more. I mean no harm. If I wanted to harm them, I would have done that a long time ago. The last body I used, the baby dîed of measles so I had to leave. Please let me borrow this body”.
The pastor instructed my mom and I to start singing praises. He also asked us to clap and dance while at it.
“Hosanna! Hosanna! Hosanna in the highest”.🎵🎶
This is a song we sing in the Catholic church during consecration. I don’t know why that was the first song that came into my mind that day.
As I was singing the song, Obiageli was screaming at the top of her voice;
“Fire! Fire! My body! My head! This place is too hot! Ahh! Ohhh”. She screamed.
I increased the tempo.
“…Lord we lift up your name! With a heart full of praise! Be exalted oh Lord my God, Hosanna in the highest!”. 🎵🎶🎶
“I will go! I will leave! I’m going now”. Obiageli screamed. This time around, it was the voice of an old woman.
She fell to the ground and laid still for close to 2hrs.
The pastor prayed and prayed even when Obiageli laid still.
“Mummy!”. Obiageli cried out. It was her voice this time around.
“Are you okay? Are you fine?”. I asked.
“My head aches”. She said and started crying.
I carried her on my lap and cuddled her affectionately till she fell asleep.
“You have to return her back to the orphanage. She’s free now but the demon could return at anytime. To be on a a safer side, return her”. The pastor warned before leaving.
I went back to the hospital and saw that my husband had already regained consciousness.
I was so happy. I briefed him on everything that happened in his absence. He was glad that the deliverance still went through.
When my husband was completely healed and discharged, we took Obiageli back to the orphanage.
We all cried our eyes out.
Little did we know that bigger tears were on their way.
