“Tell me anything, I will do it, I promise” Silas answered
“Ok, I want you to kill your grandmother,” Joyce said boldly
“Are you out of your senses, how dare you” He stood up to fight her
“Then meet me in court” She walked out
“Joyce!” He ran after him, Nicho followed them.
“I thought you are seeking vengeance, you want to kill the ones who hurt you, I want to do the same, your grandmother hurts me, I want vengeance too” She fled.
Nicho caught up with him “Man what is going on”
Silas explained to him.
“Then we kill her, we take the camera from her” Nicho suggested.
“We will not” He headed to his grandmother’s place, Nicho followed.
“Good evening ma” Both greeted
“My son why are you here? by this time of the day,” His Grandma answered frostily
“Are you not happy to see me?” Silas asked
“I am, just that is very unusual”
“This is my friend Nicho” He introduced him.
“You are welcome my sons” They sat outside while she prepared some meals for them.
“Mother do you offend anyone, did you fight with anybody?”
“No, Never” She answered.
“Grandma, I know you have told me the story of what happened to my parent but I would love to hear it once again”.
She started crying “You want to take me back to memory,” Silas cleaned her tears.
“Your father was my only child, him marrying your mother was the greatest mistake he did, He has started ministry before he met your mother. I warned him that time not to marry her because your mother had too many friends who were unbelievers one of them is Florence whom you call Pamela, she was the closest to her. I had to stay away from them so I would not appear like a bad mother in law, even when she gave birth to you, I didn’t visit, It was then she employed your Nanny”
“Mother Noel” Silas cut in
“Yes, May her soul continue to rest in peace. After some time your mother started falling sick, she died, she was pregnant then. And her friend; Pamela became rich suddenly we make spiritual findings and was told her friend used her for ritual. Your father took some steps to arrest her before she accused him of rape. And many people testified to it.
“Hmm, so grandma why don’t you fight her, when you know what happened?”
“Son, I was threatened, till today I don’t know the prison they kept your father. I’m not sure I will set this my eyes on him againn”
“So how did you now end up at Pamela’s place,” Nicho asked Silas
“I was still very young when all that grandma said, happened. I grew up at Mother Noel’s place. She introduced me to Pamela and died days after”.
“Why live with Mother Noel when your grandma is still alive,” Nicho asked
“He was so used to her, when all that happened I went for him, he fell sick and nearly die, crying he wants to go back to Mother Noel. So I returned him there but I do visit them often”
Silas took a deep breath “So Mother you are very sure you did not offend anybody”
“I’m a peacemaker my son if there’s a peace award I should earn one.” They smiled
Silas could not sleep all night, thinking about what Joyce said and why he would want her dead. His grandmother stood up in the middle of the night. Silas pretended he was fast asleep, the grandmum peeped at both of them to see if they were sleeping, she changed her dress and sneaked out.
Silas checked the time, “2 am on dot, where is she going by this time” He followed her secretly
