EVIL INTENTIONS PT3
That night, Amaka and her husband fought like cats and dogs for the first time since they got married. Ngozi concluded that her husband stood her up on purpose while her husband who was tired of trying to explain himself let her hang on to her conclusions. He left her alone to sulk.
***
Ngozi stayed up all night wondering if her plans worked. She didn’t have any way of finding out. Calling Hope again this night would seem desperate and she wasn’t ready to talk to Amaka yet but, that seemed like the only option.
She sent a quick text to Amaka asking her for forgiveness. She hoped it worked, after best friends fight all the time.
***
Amaka who needed a friend at the moment quickly forgave Ngozi. She just believed that her long time friend was stressed out that day.
Hope left for work early without bidding his wife goodbye. He has never done this before. Who can blame him when his wife went berserk on him.
Amaka felt so bad that morning. She felt so alone and she was still very angry. The whole thing was his fault. She needed to vent, Ngozi came to her mind.
***
Ngozi was so happy to see Amaka. Well, her happiness was solely based on the information she would be getting soon. She trusted Amaka to spill the beans, the woman was a parrot.
Amaka didn’t even sit down before she was blabbering on and on about how her husband came home so late last night and about their argument.
“He didn’t even tell me goodbye as he left for work” She concluded with a pout. Her eyes watered.
Ngozi’s heart soared. For once her talk about her husband wasn’t irritating her. Pretending to sympathize with her was proving difficult.
“Don’t worry yourself, he loves you, everything will be fine, every normal couple fights” she advised.
When Amaka left, Ngozi burst into a fit of hard laughter. She laughed and laughed so hard that she started to cough violently. Tears ran down her face. She’s never felt this good in years.
“You never see anything yet, this is only the beginning, Anumanu!”
