Lynda thought of visiting the mortuary in search of the wristwatch. “John value that watch too much I won’t let it go” as she stepped out, she saw Kenny walking into her compound with some policemen.
She wanted to escape but she was caught.
“Madam you are under arrest” One of the officers announced.
“Please I did not do anything” she cried
“Guilty conscience, that is why you wanted to escape,” Kenny said.
They took her to a cell and a female officer came to interrogate her.
“Dr. Lynda, you are arrested for conspiring with Miss Simbi and late John Mark to fraud Omokehinde. Is that true?”
“That is not true ma”
The officer laughed “Tell us the truth and we will make things easier for you.”
“Truly, Simbi called me, I’m not even her friend she got my phone number online” Lynda narrated
“So then, who is John Mark?”
“He’s my Fiance he is late now”
“Was he a detective?”
“No ma, that was my mistake and I’m regretting it, but between God and Man, I warned him”
The officer laughed again, and called the Junior officers to torture her “Deal with her, she’s proving stubborn”. She instructed. Lynda kept shouting “I’m Innocent”.
Kenny was in tears in the DPO’s office, “Sir, I don’t even have access to any of my properties, all my social media accounts have been hacked. All my shows banned for what?”
“Madam calm down, my boys are in search of your Manager, once we arrest her, I believe she has answers to all these issues”
“I’m very sure that devilish psychologist knows where she is hiding”
“Madam just go home and let us do our Job”. The DPO assured her.
She went home, and realized everywhere was kind of empty.
“What is going on here? where are the guards? where is Natasha? Natasha!” She called rushing to her parent’s room,
“Jesus!, Dad!”
“My daughter see what your guards did to your father?” Her mum sobbed placing the head of her dead husband on her lap.
“My guards shot Dad?”
“They made him transfer all the money in his account to them, he also signed some papers I don’t understand”
“Daddy!” Kenny called kneeling beside him. Then she screamed after confirming he was dead.
She picked up her phone and called Richard “Hello”
Richard began to laugh
“Richard what is funny, the guards you gave me have turned their back against me, they just rendered me Fatherless.”
“No, they didn’t, he is not your father, ask that woman there about your father. It took you eternity, to realize the truth, I will tell you the little I can, I’m not Richard Wills, your father bears that name. I’m Taiwo’s twin bother.” Tell that woman to tell you the rest. He ended the call.
“Mummy what is all this now, can you hear him”
“Ah, Sarah” she cried bitterly
“You called me Sarah”
“That is your name, I never knew a day like this will come. I and your Mum gave birth at the same time in the hospital, her bed was next
to mine, we gave birth successfully but instead of her being happy she began to cry. She gave birth a to girl, while I had twins, a boy and a girl which the doctor diagnosed with deadly ailments. He said they will die early, I was still happy because that makes it 25 years have been looking for a child. I asked her why she was in tears, she said her husband will kill her, for giving birth to a girl that she already had seven girls” We bargained with the doctor, we exchange our babies, I gave her the boy and she gave me her girl, which is you. We did all that without the knowledge of her husband”
“Haaa” Kenny exclaimed
“My husband never loved Taiwo he had this mentality that she will soon die. We began to have issues with your Mum, she demands money from us every time. Till she kidnapped you and and Taiwo. She sent us the picture of you and the boy, she wanted her girl child. we begged her to take Taiwo, we paid heavily for your ransom. In the end, she released you and Taiwo.”
“Taiwo’s behavior changed, we suspected she had revealed our secrets to Taiwo and her twin brother. So my husband assassinated her for peace to reign.”
“What!”
“Sarah I just want to beg you to forgive us.”
“Do you said forgive? Choosing me over your children? you called yourself a mother. I wish the two of them could confide in me, rather than seeing me as their enemy but it is well” she stood up, rushed to her room and started packing her clothes. She got a message from Taiwo’s brother formerly Richard Wills.
“Sarah Wills don’t bother looking for Simbi, she’s my wife, all she acquired for you was bought in our name, I did that for Taiwo, she wanted to get all that Dad spend on you. She will be proud of me now, May her gentle soul rest in peace”
Uncontrollable tears rolled down Kenny’s face who is now referred to as Sarah Wills, she carried her luggage and walked down to the street mumbling in tears, ignoring the people staring at her. “My parents sold me because I’m not a man, another bought me because they wanted a healthy child neglecting theirs. Both parties destroyed my life because of their selfishness. Taiwo died not forgiving me, and his twin brother revenging for the evil I know nothing about, And now I’ve been robbed of my glory, my fame, my properties everything I worked hard to build.” She sat down hopelessly in a garage.
“Now where will I find my Father; Richard Wills!”
