“In the name of God, I, Eric Ayodeji Wilfred, take you, Desire Uchechi Eze, to be my wife, to have and to hold from this day forward, for better, for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health, to love and to cherish, until parted by d£ath. This is my solemn vow.”
My blissful heart tingled and my face beamed with smiles at my lovely husband to be as he said his vow to me with gleams of his unquenchable love for me in his eyes while holding my hands warmly.
“In the name of God…” with the happiest smile on my face, I began my vow to the man that I never thought I’ll be exchanging marital vows with at the alter, “…I, Desire Uchechi Eze, take you, Eric Ayodeji Wilfred, to be my husband, to have and to hold from this day forward, for better, for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health, to love and to cherish, until parted by d£ath. This is my solemn vow.”
He gave me an assuring smile of a Man in love with his Woman and he held my hand tighter.
Lifting up his right hand, the Reverened then declared, “With the Power given unto me by the Almighty God, I now pronounce you Husband and Wife. Please share your rings.”
I stretched out my hand to my husband and with a smile on his face, he slid my ring onto my finger, and stretching out his hand after, I slid his own ring into his finger with confidence.
“Thank you, my Wife,” he said.
I blushed.
Why wouldn’t I? I’m now married to the most handsome, loving and caring man.
“As permitted by God, you both may now share a kiss.”
Drawing closer to me with his right hand holding my left and his left hand behind my head, he locked his lips on mine and I closed my eyes and kissed him back, merrily.
I kissed my husband, Eric Wilfred as my family, his family and the congregation clapped and cheered.
“I love you my lovely wife,” he said to me after we withdrew the kiss.
I smiled, “I love you too, My darling husband.”
I couldn’t control myself after that. I wanted to hug him so badly, and yes I did.
‘Why wouldn’t I? He’s my husband.
Or wait….. I’m I dreaming again?
Is this another dream?? Do I need someone to pinch me back to reality?’
“Congratulations Mr and Mrs Wilfred,” the Reverened said to us.
‘No, it sn’t a dream this time but reality.
‘After I met him at the mall that day, I returned home very curious about his marital status and the reason why he didn’t put on his wedding ring.
I needed to do my research on him and for the third time in three years, I typed his names on my Instagram search space and his handle showed up. A verified account with the blue tick bodly there after his names.
The first time I did was when I accepted the offer to sleep with him for the five million naira payment. I had to go through his profile to run a check on the man I was going to Abuja to sleep with.
The second time was after I had the dream and declined the offer. I was so curious about this man who appeared so smart, knew everything and was steps ahead of everyone in my dream that I had to go through his Instagram profile again and that was the last time in three years that I did. I moved on with my life after that because i didn’t want something that will make me more curious than I was, and then end up getting myself into trouble.
Then the third time was the night I returned from the mall after meeting him for the first time, but this time, his profile appeared different. Most of his photos and posts were deleted and they were all that had to do with his marriage and his wife, Tana.
I began wondering if they were divorced, although I saw no post that gave a hint of divorce between him and his wife.
Two days later, I got a call from him and that began the ride of my friendship with him which I tried to resist but I ended up getting even more closer to him, and continued to hide my little secret from him.
It didn’t take that long before I found out from him that that he has been divorced for a year plus.
He told me the story of how his marriage to Tana began and how it ended, and believe me, shockingly it wasn’t totally different from my dream.
When they got married, they were m@dly inlove with each other that they had to take a vow and bet their fortune on it.
They vowed never to cheat on eachother. That if he cheated, they would divorce with 70% of his wealth to her and if she cheat, that she’ll loose both him and 70% of her own wealth as well.
Both of them kept to their vow of faithfulness to each other.. well so he thought, but she became greedy. She wanted his 70% of wealth.
Being way more wealthier than her, she knew that she’ll be the one to gain more if he cheats and that was her reason for trying to make him cheat on her with an evidence to proof it.
But her mission failed through a friend of his, Fumi who saw her at a private bar, discussing with a lady who later came to Eric’s office few days after.
Fumi on seeing her immediately told Eric about seeing his wife with the same lady few days ago, although he had no idea what they were discussing.
A secret spy on his wife and the lady began and it was confirmed that the lady was to be paid five million naira to sleep with him with an evidence to show. The same amount she offered me.
Funny.
He was totally dissapointed in her but wanted to forgive her and let go, but then he found out that she has been cheating on him with his driver, and that was where the divorce began.
Although he didn’t take the 70% of her wealth, he divorced her without sharing any of his property to her.
I was dumbfounded after his story. I couldn’t believe that my dream wasn’t totally wrong after all. From the spy to the secret lover.
A week later, I couldn’t control myself anymore, I had to tell him my own truth, that I was the first girl who she offered the same amount of money to sleep with him, but after I had a terrible dream, I declined.
I thought that confession was going to be the end of our friendship but instead, his love for me grew even more and somehow I ended up nak£d on his bed months later, and we made love.
I cried after though, because I thought I shouldn’t have done that when I wasn’t even in a relationship with him and he’s a divorced man!
I even refused to take his calls for days.
But then he came around and he showed me how much I meant to him and, how much he had fallen inlove with me.
A month later, he proposed to me and right after he slid the ring onto my finger, I felt so nauseous that I rushed into the bathroom and threw up.
And guess what??
I was pregnant.
Two months later, here I am, standing face to face with him at the alter of God as my husband, and with my growing belly.
I am now Desire Uchechi Wilfred, and I sincerely apologise to Tana Wilfred, Oh.. mistake, not ‘Wilfred’ anymore but Tana Akindele.
I apologise to her for taking her place… but I did because she failed to realize the kind of man God gave to her.
She chose Money, material things of life and pleasure than Love, peace and happiness but I chose Love, peace and happiness.
Money they say answers all things, but a good man is better than riches.
But well my man is good and rich too, so I believe I’m one of the luckiest wife on earth.
Please all the women with good men out there, please love your man and be contented with whatever he has and whatever he gives to you, and please be faithful to him. A good man is to be respected, submissive to and loved.
Men please do same, be faithful to your wife, especially a good wife because they say it is only a bad wife that pushes her husband to another woman.
If your wife is a good woman, please respect and love her. I see no reason why you would go to another woman when you have a good wife at home.
They say you only know one’s worth when you loose them.
Don’t loose your good man or woman because of the things of this world, because when you do, someone who know their worth is waiting somewhere to replace you immediately and maybe when you come back to apologise, it might be too late.
Because certainly you will regret loosing them.
Tana did, but it was too late for her. I have taken her place.
Well… I fulfilled her wish, I did sleep with him, but not as her husband but as her Ex husband who’s now my loving husband and the father of my baby.
“You look even much more beautiful, right now,” he said cutely to me after we withdrew the hug.
I smiled, “Thank you, and you are the most handsome groom right now in the entire world.”
“Hmm.. I know that,” he smiled.
We both chuckled.
THE END.
