LOVE IN THE APARTMENT
EPISODE 4
It was a sunny Saturday morning, and Alex was looking forward to a relaxing weekend. Jamie had gone out to chill and have fun, leaving Alex and Emily alone in the flat.
As Alex entered the kitchen to make some breakfast, he was greeted by Emily’s messy cooking from the night before. Pots and pans were scattered all over the countertops, and the sink was filled with dirty dishes. The air was thick with the smell of last night’s Chinese takeout.
“Seriously, Emily?” Alex muttered to himself.
Just then, Emily walked into the kitchen, bleary-eyed and yawny, her hair a tangled mess.
Alex turner to her ,
“Can’t you clean up after cooking? You’re not a high school student anymore.” He said,
“What’s your problem, Alex?” she asked, pouring herself a cup of coffee.
“My problem is the mess you left in the kitchen,” Alex replied, his voice firm but calm. “And the fact that you’re always leaving your dirty dishes for others to clean up.”
Emily shrugged, taking a sip of her coffee. “I’ll clean it up later. Don’t be so uptight, Alex.”
But Alex was not having it. “Later? You’re always saying later, but later never comes. You’re always leaving your mess for others to deal with. It’s not fair.”
Emily’s expression turned defensive. “I’m not your maid, Alex. If you’re so concerned about cleanliness, maybe you should clean up after yourself too. And by the way, what’s with the attitude? You’re always so critical and judgmental.”
The argument escalated, with both Alex and Emily raising their voices. The peaceful weekend morning had quickly turned into a war zone.
As the quarrel continued, the tension between them grew thicker than the London fog. Alex was fed up with Emily’s lack of consideration and responsibility, he stood staring at her , then he left the kitchen in anger while Emily burst into laughter, she grabbed her coffee and walked out.
Later in the day ,
Alex was relaxing in the sitting room, watching his favorite TV show , He had just gotten to the good part when Emily walked in, ignoring his presence as if he was invisible.
Without even glancing at Alex, Emily picked up the remote control and changed the channel. Alex’s eyes widened in disbelief as his show was replaced with some reality TV nonsense.
“Hey, what are you doing?” Alex protested, his voice calm but firm. “I was watching that.”
Emily flared up, her eyes flashing with defiance. “I was watching it first, before I went to my room. You always hog the TV, Alex.”
Alex’s jaw dropped. “That’s not true. And even if it was, you can’t just change the channel without asking me.”
Emily shrugged, her expression unyielding. “Why not? It’s a free world . I can watch what I want.”
Alex’s anger simmered just below the surface. “That’s not the point. The point is you always do this. You always disregard other people’s feelings and needs.”
Emily snorted. “Oh, poor Alex. Always so sensitive.”
The argument escalated, with both Alex and Emily raising their voices. The air was thick with tension as they clashed, their words hanging in the air like daggers.
“You always do this, Emily,” Alex shouted. “You always take and take and take, without ever giving back or showing any consideration for others.”
Emily shot back, her voice venomous. “And you always do that, Alex. You always criticize and complain, without ever lifting a finger to help.”
The sitting room was now a war zone, with neither side willing to give in. It seemed like the weekend was going to be a very long and very difficult one…
