BLACK CAT
CHAPTER EIGHTEEN
As soon as Jacob opened the front door the rattling unto of the roof stopped, the black beast , began crawling down the roof with a grunt .
“Run Maggie get into the car .” Jacob screamed as he was slowed down , by the wait of his mother in-law , Grace’s weight was lagging him behind , Margaret was already in the vehicle with baby Joshua.
“Run Jacob it’s coming behind you .” Margaret screamed , he would have easily picked Grace up and scurried to the vehicle, but his body was badly battered , from the encounter with the first beast .
“Leave me and go , I’m slowing you down . “Grace begged as she pulled her arms from his arms , she was also battered . “I am only delaying you two , go I’ll buy you time .” Grace begged .
“No I won’t do that , I don’t leave my family behind I’m dying here with you or am escaping here with you .” Jacob replied her .
The growling sounds from the lips of the big cat that was the size of a lion was heart wrenching , the cat flew into the air , Jacob swirled around and shot the beast from the barrels of his shut gun .
The force knocked the beast several feets into the air , and it landed afar off . Jacob carried Grace into back seat .
“Musa! Musa! ” Jacob called for the gate man , he was no where to be found .
.”My God not now! where did this gateman go to ?” He asked as he rushed into the security post , Musa’s door was ajar , so he stepped inside .
The beast hard ripped off , all of Musa’s face , the scalp was also gone , Musa’s corpse lay on the floor of his room, the white grey matter spill over the floor .
“Where is Musa?” Margaret asked .
“He’s dead , they got him .”
Jacob ran to the gate and threw it open
rushed to the driver seat . He put his key in the ignition , he tried to turn on the car , but it just was not cooperating, the beast began to rise , the car refused to come alive , it stood dead in the middle of the car park . Jacob couldn’t change into the Lexus Bullet proof SUV his dad had gotten him for his thirty two birthday , because he left the keys upstairs .
“what’s the problem Jacob ?” Margaret asked , she was terrified.
“The engine is dead , I don’t know what to do .”
He twisted over and over , the beast , got up from the ground, shifted from the big four legged beast , to a two legged man beast , it was bleeding from where the bullet had bursted through . it ran and climbed on the bonnet. just as the car came alive .
Its red eyes pierced like fire , Margaret lost her cool .
it pointed with its scrawny clawed fingers to the baby in Margaret’s arms .
“Give me that child child !” it said while growling .
Margaret grabbed the baby to her chest , her heart began to beat , faster than her chest could carry it .
“Please Jacob move the car from here ,Jacob be fast !” she was getting hysterical.
The beast on the bonnet began to bash the front windscreen with it’s bony and clawed fingers , the glass was bullet proof , so the damage was minimal. it stood on the roof of the car and growled , there was a response from other cats , as they ran towards the place of call .
“Jacob more of this stuffs are coming , please move the car !” Margaret screamed .
“I am trying the ignition switch refused to come up .” he yelled back and then a bigger of the man cats ran into the compound , the big car roared to live . The beast was struggling to close the gate . Jacob reversed the big truck and knocked off the beast on the roof .
He drove through the partially closed gate . More of the man cats dived on the SUV , hanging to the chassis of the car, they kept trying to push the vehicle into the gutter . Jacob swirled the car ,from side to side , trying to throw off the beast on his roof top , the one hanging to the bonnet , tumbled off to the ground , .
The tyres of the SUV climbed on its head and it popped open , From the darkness another man cat , came at the SUV from the right side where Margaret was sitting with the baby , Jacob almost lost control the car , jumped into a pavement cross the road to the other side of the road .
The beast grunting and growling chased after Jacob and his family in all four . The one who was hanging on the chassis of the SUV kept punching the SUV, Jacob whined down a bit of the passenger side windscreen.
“What are you doing Jacob ? its going to come in .” Margaret screamed . Jacob ignored her and aimed with his short gun , one hand on the steering wheel , she shot half of its face and it fell off of and tumbled into the dark .
he whined up , as he stared in the mirror he could see more of the cat men running after their car on the side mirror , he increased the speed and disappeared into the night .
“Are they gone ?” Margaret said clearing the particles of meat that fell on her face , when Jacob blasted the beast hanging to their vehicle.
“They’re gone for now .” He said focused on the road , not looking at the tears from her face , or her mother who was Unconscious lying on the back seat.
“They won’t stop coming , they’ll keep coming again and again until I get to the root .” Jacob said not looking at his wife . it was enough of a guess he was going to see his father he needs explanation. the attacks were not normal .
