Once in Love
Episode Nine
The next morning, Isabel was still nowhere to be found, and there was no call from a kidnāpper asking for ransom. Anna could not sleep throughout the night.
As she woke up, she wiped her eyes and hissed.
Mr. William had stood up from the bed and was dressing up.
“Sleeping beauty, you are busy sleeping without even asking yourself if your daughter is able to sleep,” he scolded her as she got up from the bed, already exhausted.
“You better call your office and ask them for a leave until you find my daughter because at this point, I don’t even care if they sāck you.
You are of no use to me,” Mr. William continued, while Anna just sat down without saying a word, with her hands on her chin, crying as he said āwful things to her.
Then it dawned on her that she did not call Joan to ask about her child.
“What if I call her, and she says Isabel is not with her? Besides, she has not come here since the incident happened,” Anna thought.
Mr. William was preparing to go to the office, but to his wife, she was not supposed to work until Isabel is found.
She did not have a choice but to stay at home, she had to wait for her husband to go to work before calling Joan.
As soon as he prepared and left, rejecting her food for the first time since they got married. “Take the food to your mother, I’m not interested,” he yelled.
As soon as he left, she had two things to do: first, to call Joan, and secondly, to call her office and explain everything to them, if only they would understand her.
She picked up the phone and called Joan, who picked up immediately.
“Hello, Joan,” she said, contemplating how to pop the question. “Hello, Anna, how are you?” As soon as she heard that, she broke down.
“I’m not fine, Joan. My daughter has been missing since yesterday. I’ve corrected the sentence for you:
“I was about to ask if you took her home,” There was silence for a minute.
“No, I did not take her with me. Have you asked anyone else around you?” Joan asked, and Anna just nodded.
Joan was just her last hope, and if her daughter was not with Joan, it meant there was trouble.
She quickly ended the call, even forgetting to call her office. “Why is this happening to me?
I’m slowly losing my marriage, and now my daughter is missing just like that? Why can’t the person just come and ask for any amount of money, I will just pay,” she lamėnted.
Soon the phone rings, and it’s an unknown number.
“If you want your daughter alive, come to Brook’s Street. I don’t need to describe it to you,” the caller said. Without the call ending and without even thinking straight, Anna enters the car and drives off to Brook’s Street.
“Why is the person asking her to come there?”
Could it someone she knew? She asked herself.
That was the same place she first met her husband when her car broke down. “Oh my God, my baby!” she yells while driving.
As she gets to the place, which was just an uncompleted building with a scary road, she stopped there shivering.
She heard the voice of Isabel and ran inside. To her surprise, she saw Kemi, her friend, pointing a gūn at Isabel, who was shivering with her mouth tied with a cloth.
“Anna could not believe her eyes.” “Kemi,” she called as she used her hands to clean her eyes to make sure she was not dreaming.
Kemi wārned her, “If you say any more words, I will just end the life of this little princess of yours.
” Anna just stood still like a statue; everything was just like a dream to her.
“You stōle a man I have loved with everything, you stōle him away from me. Why do you think I don’t stay at your house when your husband comes back?
William saw me before you did. I wanted him to love me, so I asked him out, but he chose you instead.
Do you know how it feels to see both of you happy together?” Kemi expresses.
She continues, “Well, that happiness won’t last because William will be mine. I’ve been waiting for the perfect time to make this happen.
I had to portray Joan as the bad one so you wouldn’t suspect me, she came at the perfect time.
William must pay for hūrting me
that way. I gave him my whole heart, and knowing that you are the girl he left me for hurts even more,” Kemi says with tears in her eyes.
“I have been trying to get close to him to the point that I even became your friend so I can visit, but he keeps rejėcting me as if I’m not good enough for him.
He keeps saying he is married now.
I have even tried to sėduce him , but he doesn’t seem to notice me, and it’s all because of you.
I can’t stand the way he looks at you or makes you happy.
Seeing you two together is the worst.
That’s why I have been looking for a way to remove you from his life because only then will he notice me,” Kemi said as she breathed in and out before continuing.
I will start by ending his previous daughter’s life, then yours, and then I will reunite with William because I will console him until he is mine again.
He won’t even know what happened here.
Kemi chuckled as she raises the gun, pointing it at Isabel and then to Anna, “Who among you is going first?” she asks.
