Seeking The Truth episode 4

Seeking The Truth

Episode 4

Just like that, I was separated from my friends.

I couldn’t even concentrate in class, because there was no one to share my problems with.

When I got home, I just locked myself inside the room.

crying myself to sleep until dinner time or until Uche came back from school.

I didn’t want to talk to anyone except Uche because he was the only one who understood me.

Dad wasn’t even around, he was too occupied with work to notice anything.

He will just come back, take a quick shower, eat and then rush back to the office.

I felt for him, I knew he was tired but nothing could be done.

I know Mom didn’t tell him anything because he was too stressed with work to handle any more stress.

In my new school, the new teacher wasn’t friendly like my previous teacher.

I kept wondering why she doesn’t like me.

She scolded me all the time and I didn’t like it.

I made it my responsibility to try and please her but it didn’t work.

I told Mom about this and she asked me to pray and remember that I should love my enemies

because they will change one day,I felt reluctant to pray about my teacher because I felt such prayer might not work, because of her personality.

She was naturally grumpy and doesn’t even smile.

I sneaked out of school during lunch hours to take lunch to the ma.d woman Uche said is my mom.

I don’t regret it because she is always very happy to see me, and I feel like there’s a special bond between us.

The way she smiles when she sees me melts my heart.

She listens to me when I speak, and I feel like she understands my problems, just like a mother would.

I knew mom won’t be happy that I visit the m.ad woman without telling her.

I was troubled she might find out elsewhere and will be disappointed with me.

I had to confess to Mom that I’ve been visiting the ma.d woman.

‘Mom, I have been visiting the mad woman Uche said is my mother.

I couldn’t tell you because I thought you would be upset with me.

I’m sorry, Mom,’ I said, shivering, afraid she might scold me or even ground me for visiting a stranger.

To my greatest surprise, she was not upset. Instead, she looked at me with a smile and said,

“It’s fine, Princess. I understand.

Just be careful out there, when ever you want to visit her, I will help you get provisions so that can you can give them to her.

I might even help you take her to a psychiatric hospital, where she can be treated if it will make you feel better”.

I Screamed in disbelief “thank you mom, you are the best I said”, giving her a big hug.

“I love you princess”, she said.

I was relieved, at least I could visit the woman whenever I wanted.

I had not been eating well since the incidence happened but I had the appetite to eat that day.

I stopped visiting the ma.d woman for a while because I got used to my new school and made new friends.

My teacher started being good to me too.

I Finally decided to visit her again after staying for weeks without seeing her.

Hoping to tell her everything that has happened.

I bought a lot of things for her, to atone for the times I didn’t visit her.

Mom made sure I had enough money to buy whatever I wanted, she gave me one of her credit cards.

“She must be so bored, with no one to talk to”, I had thought as I went to see her.

I had missed talking to her too, even if she doesn’t respond to me, she understands me perfectly.

Getting there,I realized the woman was no longer where I usually go to give her food.

“Could it be that she had relocated?”, I asked myself.

I asked around, but no one knew her whereabouts.

I asked another lady who owns a shop opposite the uncompleted building where the mad woman stays,

but her response shook me.

She said, “Her people came and took her away”.

“I asked myself, ‘Which people?

She doesn’t even have a family.”
