WILD OBSESSION

Episode 11

*****

A few days later, Frank was alone in his house still brooding over what happened.

Sarah had called countless times but he wouldn’t take her calls.

He hadn’t also gone to work since the incident occurred, his father had called to know the reasons for his absence but he gave flimsy excuses to cover up.

Whenever he tried forgiving his wife, he would remember the reason he sent her away. He couldn’t get his mind off the scene he saw in his house that day.

“And what that stupîd lady was doing to my wife! Arrrhhhrrhh!!” he yelled in so much rage.

Later on, he continued talking to himself.

“What on earth could have made my wife allow such a thing? Did they know each other before she started living with me?”

“I needed to also teach that lady some lessons.”

A few minutes later, Frank dressed up and went out of his house. He headed towards Ify’s compound.

He walked quickly like someone going to fight a rival. He had plans on what to do to her if he took hold of her.

He got to the gate and started knocking hard. He knocked severally but nobody came to open the gate for him.

When he turned to leave, he saw a man passing by.

“Is it that lady that you came to see?” the passerby asked.

“Yes, Ify.”

“I don’t know her name but if it’s that lady who was living here, she had moved out with her property. I saw her accompanying a truck fully loaded with her property out of this estate.”

“What?! Do you know where she moved to?”

“I wouldn’t know. You can call her number to enquire from her.”

“It’s alright. Thanks.”

Frank left for his house feeling disappointed.

A few days later, on Sunday morning, Sarah’s parents were in their room preparing for church.

When they were done and about to leave, they discovered Sarah hadn’t come out.

Her father went to her room immediately and saw her lying on the bed.

“Sarah! What are you still doing there? Why are you not dressed for church?”

Sarah started murmuring. Her mother also came in.

“Daddy, please let her be.”

“No, she must follow us to church, she can’t be in my house and not go to church. Oh, it’s now dawning on you the gravity of what you did.”

“Daddy please let her not go, her going will bring more shame to this family.”

“I have already accepted the shame whatsoever. Go and prepare for church and be fast about it!”

Sarah went to the bathroom grumbling. A few minutes later, she was dressed up and they left for church.

They got to church after a few minutes. Her father went to sit on his special seat in front, as an elder of the church. Sarah and her mother went and sat with the rest of the congregation.

Later on, when the church dismissed, the church members were exchanging pleasantries.

Sarah and her parents were coming out of the church when the pastor approached them, and they greeted. Then the pastor turned to Sarah.

“Sister Sarah, you came to see us?”

“Yes pastor she came visiting,” her mother said.

“That’s a lie,” his father rebuffed.

“You need to see her specially. I think she needed a deliverance,” her father continued.

“What is the problem?” the pastor asked.

They all kept mute.

“Let’s go to my office then.”

They all followed the pastor to his office.

When they got there, they sat down and explained all that happened to the pastor.

“God have mercy! This is very bàd and sacrilegious. Have you forgotten you are a daughter of an elder in this prestigious church? You should have told me before you sat with the brethren for today’s service,” the pastor complained.

“You know we have a tradition in this church, you will be excommunicated for four weeks so that your sins will be forgiven. It is part of our deliverance section.
Your excommunication starts next Sunday. We all will be praying for your repentance.
So from next Sunday, you will be given a back seat behind the congregation. You won’t be involved in any of our church activities until your excommunication is over,” the pastor concluded.

Sarah buried her head in shame as the pastor listed the conditions for her excommunication. Her mother felt for her but she couldn’t do anything to stop it.

Later on, they thanked the pastor and left for their house.
