Chapter Six

Frank’s POV

I got to the Mary land estate as I parked at a very hidden place where no one would notice my car..I combed the area and there’s no one there..at least that was what I thought not until I sighted the damn idiot..seems he’s fallen into the trap..

Mark’s POV

I tried calling angel but she doesn’t pick..I wonder why she would want to meet up in this kind of strange area…

It really feels strange but I’m not gonna run away like some coward..it’s just 7:20pm.. I’ll wait till 7:50 and if she doesn’t show up..I’ll just leave..

Angel’s POV

“Please I beg you..you need to come with me..”I pleaded to the police man..

There’s no way I’ll go without the cops..I cannot defend my self from that coward frank..and if I don’t take the cops with me..I don’t know what would happen..I don’t know if this is a good idea to report your husband to the police but I can’t bear it..I can’t bear seeing mark in pains because of me..I explained everything to the police man and thankfully he’s willing to help..Abby has been with me all through and I really appreciate her company..she’s a God sent friend..I don’t know what I’ll do if she hadn’t showed up at my house..

“Don’t worry everything will be fine..”Abby says patting my head..I’m so scared right now..I could only imagine what Frank would do to mark..How far will he go to keep tormenting the people I care about just because of his unending jealous..

“So your husband is a jealous man..right..?”The head of police..whose known as Mr Ray asked while jotting down my statement..

“Yes..look..”I showed him my wrists..”he tied me up because he doesn’t want me going out..he is a monster and if we don’t get there on time.. something bad might happen..”I say..

“Was your husband like this when you two were dating..?”he asked..

“No..he was very relaxed and romantic..he never showed this part of him..never”I answered..all I want right now is to get there on time..frank won’t get away with this awful thing he has done..

“Alright..then..I think it’s time to let justice do their thing..”Ray says as he informed the cops to get ready for the operation….

Jessica’s POV

“I cannot believe my own mother would do this to me..”I say to Naomi..while washing the dishes..

“I understand..she just wants you to get married as soon as possible..if only she knows how married women are these days..”Naomi says..referring to her kind of marriage..

“Sometimes I just wish I could stay single and have a child..or be someone’s baby mama.. because seeing what you guys are facing in your different homes…discourages me from getting married..”I say..

“Oh c’mon..don’t say that..marriage is good if you find the right person…”Naomi says..

“You’re right..about that..”I replied..

Frank’s POV

I’m waiting for the perfect time to attack..I sighted the idiot walking up and down like he’s worried..the fool is expecting to see angel..I think I should take him by surprise..I moved closer to him..few inches to reach where his standing as I used my gun to hit him on the head..

Mark’s POV

The minute the gun hits my head..I turned to face the person… though I’m feeling pains but I tried my best to turn to see who it was..frank.. angel’s husband..

“You..”I immediately twisted his hands pushing him away as he falls to the ground..

“You think you can take my wife away from me..never..!!”Frank says getting up on his feets.

“I should have known it was you..what did you do to her you bastard?”I asked him..not scared if his armed..

“Why do you care… I’m the one with the upper hand now because I’ll kill you..right here and you’ll never see my woman again..”Frank threatens and I just laughed a bit..

“What’s funny..?”frank asked..

“A real man doesn’t need a gun to fight..if you want to kill me..do it bravely..not like some sneaky coward whose powers lies on a gun..”I blasted frank as he angrily drops the gun..down..he tries to punch me but I was too fast to dodge it as I punched him on the face..harder..He kicked me on my stomach reaching out to collect the gun..as I get hold of him..we both struggled to take the gun from eachother and then he pulls the trigger…

Angel’s POV

“A gun shot..you hear that..?it’s coming from that angle..”I informed the cops as they went to the direction..

I tried to follow them but one of the cops instructed me to stay back..

“Stay back.. we’ll handle this..”the man says as he joined the others searching for frank and mark..

“I want..to..go..please..mark..mark…”I screamed out as Abby pulled in to her arms….

“Calm down..calm down..angie..”Abby says..

I heard one of the police calling for an ambulance as I rushed to ask him what’s going on..

“A man has been shot..”

No..this can’t be..I passed through the restricted area..some of the cops tried to hold me back but I made my way through them…as I run to where the main incident happened..I first saw..a man laying on the floor as I moved closer to see who it was..it was Mark..”no..mark..you cant leave now…I’m so sorry..I’m sorry..please forgive me..”I say holding his hands..he is still alive though..but he is wounded and he needs urgent treatment..I was interrupted by the paramedic as I they carried him putting him on a stretcher 🚑..I wiped the tears rolling down my cheeks.. praying the God saves his life..as I raised up my head to see who’s coming towards me..I see frank already handcuffed by Mr Ray..as he glared at me..

“You’ll pay for this..”Frank spits out..

“You bastard..how could you..?if anything happens to mark..I’ll make sure you rot in jail for the rest of your miserable life..”

“That shows that you never loved me..so it was him..you were in love with that fool right..?”Frank says..

“I loved you frank..I still do but I won’t watch you murder the ones I love..you deserve to be punished for all the bad deeds you ve done..take him away from my sight..I hope you rot in hell..”I say as Mr Ray exits with Frank..

“Oh dear..it’s okay.. it’s all over now..”Abby says as cuddling me…I cried like a baby on her shoulder as she patted my head .

Who would have I thought I’ll do this to my own husband..I feel like a bad person now..for sending frank to prison but it’s the least he deserves for attempting murder..if I hadn’t stopped him..he would have done worse and only God knows if he’ll also hurt me…..

The Following Morning 🌅🌷

Abigail’s POV 🍓

I couldn’t leave angel alone so I spent the night with her at the hospital..

I already informed Arnold that I won’t be spending the night home yesterday and I’m glad that he understands..

My best friend really needs me and I can’t live her here all alone..I informed nao and Jessie and they LL be here anytime soon..

I went to the Ward where mark is supposed to be..angel decided to watch over Mark last night while I sleep at the hallway..

I gradually opened the door as I saw angel lighting 🕯️ candles.. seems she’s praying so I don’t want to interrupt her…

I just left there finding a way to get some coffee for her..or food because I’m certain she must be very hungry..making my way through the hallways when I see Jessie coming forth..

“Jess..”I say hugging her..

“Babe..where’s Angie..how’s she doing..?”she asked worriedly pulling away from me..

“She’s not well..the doctors haven’t told us any thing about mark..where’s nao..?”

“She took ana to school..why don’t you go home now..I’m sure you haven’t rested well..don’t worry I’ll look after Angie..”Jessica says..

“Okay..I’ll see you later then..let me go tell her I’m leaving..”I say to Jess as she followed me.

Naomi’s POV 👠

Jessie is such a sweet lady…she gave me the money for Anna’s school fees..and I’m on my way to go pay Anna’s fees and collect all my loads from nelson house because that isn’t my home any more..I feel awkward going back there but I have no choice..most of anna’s toys and clothes are there and some of my expensive jewelries..I really need them now that I’ll be starting a new job soon..

Yes.. Jess made it easy for me to join her company..I just only need to be interviewed and they’ll take me.. Jessie told me the job is already mine but I should just pass through the process so it won’t be obvious she helped me for the job.

“Long time..no see..miss Naomi..”Mr Ben greeted me as I was about to enter my car..I already gave the head mistress the school fees..you should have seen the way she thanked me..like as if she wasn’t rude to me the other time..

“Good morning sir..”I greeted..

“Where have you been..?how’s Anna?I haven’t been seeing her since all these days..”

“Uhm..I just want..ed to gather my daughter’s fees..that’s why I decided to let her stay home for some while..”I said..not wanting to tell him the real reason why Anna hasn’t come to school..and plus..I forgot her uniform in my old house so I need to get it back too..

“Okay..”

“But don’t worry I’m no longer a debtor..I just paid my daughter school fees..” I replied.

“Alright..then..see you around..have a wonderful day..”Mr Ben says before leaving..

Hmm..now it’s time to face nelson..I have to gather courage in other to face that moron.. thankfully I got another extra keys so I wouldn’t knock before entering..I’ll just get in there and pack my things..this will be the last time I’ll step my foot on that house..

The drive to my old house takes nothingness than 5minutes and I’m there..

The gateman Baba saliu was excited the minute he saw me and surprisingly he opened the gates for me..to drive in..Knowing nelson well I’m quite surprised he hasn’t ordered saliu not to let me in..

“Madame good morning..”

“Good morning saliu..ba wo ni..?”i asked..in a Yoruba language..

“I’m verily fine…”

“Speak Yoruba Baba saliu..”I say to him..he is always trying to speak English with me but he doesn’t gets it..I always tell him to speak Yoruba but he refuses and ends up speaking the wrong english..

I gisted with him for a few minutes before heading to the main apartment..I twisted the door knob with my keys as I opened the door..Fortunately there’s no one inside the living room so I take a look at the house as memories of I and Nelson flashed back..how everything was the first few years of marriage..I stared at our wedding pictures.. they’re still on the wall..I can’t be feeling emotional now..this man isn’t good for me..I should just try and move on..and when I get enough money..I’ll go meet a lawyer for a divorce paper..

I forced the tears that threatened to fall down my cheeks when I heard a foot step coming towards my way..

“well well well..look who we have here.. are you crying..you really think I’ll remove our wedding pictures..is that how bad you think of me..?”Nelson asked as I wiped away the tears..ignoring him..

“Why are you here..what do you want..to beg me money.. because I’m sure you must be really broke since you have nothing to do..”Nelson mocks me..

“Shut up..I won’t allow you disrespect me again..I see you haven’t learnt your lesson.. you’ll still the same dirty pig as always..and let me shock you..here..”I showed nelson the receipts of anna’s paid school fees..I know it may seem a bit childish showing off the payment but I don’t give a damn..I won’t let this dawg get to me..

“How did you get the money..?”He asked really surprised..

“What do you care..huh..you think I can’t survive without you..well you’re very wrong..life has given me another reason to smile..and thankfully I’m free from your bondage you imbecile..”I yelled at him as he raised his hands to slap me but I was too quick to catch him..

“Hit your target well next time nelson.. because this new Naomi..isn’t afraid of you..”I hissed…

“You think you can threaten me..I’m not scared of you..either and I’m warning you..if you don’t bring back my daughter as soon as possible..I’ll do something both of us would regret..”Nelson says as I let go his hands..going upstairs..

“Come back here..you’re not allowed to go in there..” Nelson yelled but I didn’t listen to him..

He followed me as I entered my room quickly packing my things..

“What are you doing..you can’t take those things..”I heard a tiny voice says and it’s the same woman who I caught with him..she’s wearing an oversized shirts which is obviously nelson..and for some reason..it hurts to see her here..nelson will never change..

“They are mine..”I say to the slutty tramp..as she moved closer to me..

“You heard her..you can’t take those things..”Nelson interrupted..

“I have nothing to say to you..too..I’m taking my jewelries because they are mine..period..!!”

“No,no,no,don’t be so naive…. remember..I bought them for you..so actually the real owner here is me..”Nelson says..

“I cannot believe you’re doing this.. nelson..you allow this slut take my own things..”I defend..

“Don’t be so foolish now..I thought you wised up already but I see you’re still the same as always.. nagging woman..you left this house..I didn’t kick you out so everything in this house belongs to me..you’re not taking anything from here..”Nelson says..

“and if you think I’ll beg you then you’re sorry..”I flinged the jewelries on the slutty bitch face..

“Have passed all these cheap ornaments you giving me..so I won’t beg you..I only ask that I take my daughter’s clothes..”I say..

“No..don’t touch anything…you’re forgetting she’s also my daughter…”

I give up..if this idiot thinks he can make me beg..and act all weak here..then I won’t let him succeed..it’s useless coming here..I flinged the crappy jewelries and my things on the floor as I excused them..

I heard him calling me but I didn’t answer I just kept on going..I guess he is following me so I hastened my footsteps more.

Nelson’s POV🔥

“Baby..I need that car..if you going to take everything from your ex..you should also take the car..”Jenni pleads and I think it’s right..after all I bought her that car so I’m taking what’s rightfully mine..I and Jennifer followed Naomi downstairs..as she was about to get into the car..I stopped her..

“Where are the keys..?”I asked.. Naomi..

“What are you doing..let go off me..”she says releasing herself from my tight grip..

“Answer him..where’s the keys to my car..?’Jenni says..

“What…??”Naomi asked shockingly..

“You heard the new lady of the house..if you’re going to insult the things I bought for you..then I need my car back.. because I bought it for you..”

“Look at yourself..I never knew a tiny bee like that tramp could control you like this..where have I ever gone wrong..in being your wife..? what did I do to deserve all these humiliations from you..I was a good housewife..I took care of you..I made sure you were okay but you..you betrayed me and if you want your cars back..then you can have them..like I said earlier..I won’t beg a dime from you..I rather struggle on my own than have a miserable good for nothing bastard like you as a husband..”Naomi says flinging the keys to the floor..

“Just shut up..he is a good man..you don’t just have the qualities to turn him on..”Jennifer says..

“You’re nothing but a cheap tramp..you better listen to me carefully.. enjoy all these while it lasts because he will end up doing the same thing he did to me to you..”Naomi says..

“Never…I’m not the unlucky one here..you’re the unlucky one here because you don’t know how to turn him on like I do.. you’re just useless..”

“Call me whatever you want..time will tell whose useless..excuse me..”Naomi says as she exits.

I would say I’m impressed..I won’t lie Naomi has really changed alot..she isn’t the same weakling she used to be and now she can even defend herself..the worse part is she looks more prettier than ever..no nelson..stop it..stop thinking about her..

“Hey..what are you staring at..? don’t tell me you’re thinking about getting back together with your stupid wife..”Jenni says..

“Hey better watch your tune with me..don’t think because I allowed you to stay in my house you are now playing the role of my next wife..that would never happen sweetheart..you’re nothing but a s*x toy to me..the only woman I would ever love..is Naomi..”I say..

“You call that love.. come on..who locks his wife up inside the house just because he doesn’t want her to work.. you’re nothing but a controlling peasant..”Jennifer says as I tried to slap her she gets hold of my hands slapping me back..hard on my cheek..I didn’t see that one coming..how dare she .

“Woju..o..don’t you even dare think of trying to slap me..am not your stupid wife that takes shit from men..mo ya werey gidi..don’t you ever..ever..try to lay a finger on me.. because the next time you do..awon boys mi wo ma treat your F**k up.. idiot..!!!”

What..how..how dare she threaten me..a whole me..me..not even Naomi would dare slap me…ah..this woman is more crazier than I thought o..eh..!!
