The Mad Man
Episode 3
“Lucy, why are you crying? What is making you sad?” Nzube asked. He just returned from work and he saw Lucy crying while mopping the floor of the living room. She was sobbing sadly and tears were dropping from her eyes like tap water.
“It’s nothing sir. Good evening sir. Welcome sir.” Lucy greeted Nzube, genuflecting as always. She has learned to respect the man even though it is very uncomfortable for her. She is not happy that she has to mop the whole house almost every day with no one helping her. Since she came, her mother has become a madam, refusing to do anything. The worse is that she has refused to give her money as promised. She hates being called a house girl and she wants to disappear from the compound.
“Remove the ‘sir’ and just call me Nzube. I’m very OK with that. You can confide in me. What is making you cry? Why are you so sad. A beautiful girl like you is not supposed to shed tears at all. Tell me what the problem is Lucy, I might help you.” Nzube said while placing his right hand on Lucy’s shoulder. By then, he had dropped his bag on the table and drew closer to Lucy who temporarily stopped mopping.
“I’m scared sir. Madam might beat me if I talk.” Lucy said while cleaning her beautiful cheeks with back of her hand. She was talking like a little child. She was wearing a bum shot as usual and her laps and hips were exposed. She was still carrying the lashes she fixed in school before coming, so she looked exceptionally cute as usual.
“Forget about your madam. I’m the Oga of the house and I’m the one talking to you. Tell me your problem and I will solve it.” Nzube said. Since Lucy arrived, he has grown cold towards Ndidi.
“I don’t have money to buy menstrual pad.” Lucy said with a shy voice. Nzube was taken aback by the statement. What she said was a lie. She had enough menstrual pads and she was not even menstruating. She was just sad because of the workload in the house. She wanted to spill the whole truth so that she could walk away instead of being called a house girl in her mother’s house. But she changed her mind and decided to talk of menstrual pad.
“Why didn’t madam buy you menstrual pad when I have given her money for your upkeep? Anyways, no problems. Do you have a bank account?” Nzube asked. He brought out his phone.
“Yes sir.” Lucy answered.
“Put your account number here.” Nzube said, handing his phone to Lucy.
“I have sent you N40,000. You can buy yourself anything you need to keep yourself clean. Please, in the future, when you need anything at all, anything at all, come to me straight. Don’t go to madam.” Nzube said.
“Ah! Sir! Thank you so much sir. I’m so grateful sir. God will bless you sir. I don’t know how to pay you back sir.” Lucy said. In her mind, she knows that the man likes her.
“No man will give you this kind of money for menstrual pad except he wants something more. I don’t know if I’m fully prepared for this. I sense danger.” She said to herself.
“Remember to call me Nzube. I’m fine without the ‘sir.” Nzube said. As he walked away, he was secretly stealing looks at Lucy’s back side as she bent down to squeeze out water from the mop brush. He began to imagine many things in his head.
A week later, Nzube silently crept into Lucy’s room in the night like a cockroach. He could not control his feelings for her anymore, so he decided to pay her a visit.
Nzube was surprised when he pushed the door to her room and it opened without resistance. Lucy was reading her books. He wanted to turn back out of fear of being caught but it was too late as Lucy already saw him. She was surprised to see him in her room at that time of the night.
“What is he doing here? I don’t want my mum to see us and think I want to snatch him from her. I have been trying to avoid this, but I have noticed how he looks at me. I think he likes me. At some points, I may not be able to resist his eyes. The man looks so handsome and he is rich. My mum has put me in a difficult situation.” Lucy said to herself.
“Sir, do you want me to do something for you?” Lucy asked with a trembling voice.
“No! No! Never mind I was just leaving. I wanted to see if you are OK. Did you buy the menstrual pad?” Nzube asked with a low tone.
“Yes sir. I bought it since last week. Once again, thank you sir. I’m very grateful.” Lucy said. She was not putting on bra and there was just a long shirt hanging on her youthful body, but it barely covered her laps. Nzube stole some looks on her body.
“I have told you to just call me ‘Nzube.’ Remove the sir.” Nzube said.
“Yes sir! Thank you Nzube. Do you want to come in?” Lucy asked. Nzube turned his eyes towards the table and saw that she was reading. Nzube nodded his head and within a few seconds, he was in Lucy’s room and she shut the door. He was so happy. There something he feels for Lucy that he did not feel for Ndidi. It has grown out of control, so he decided to explore it.
Nzube was surprised that Lucy could read very fluently. There were so many novels in her room. Nzube himself is also a lover of books. As they talked about books and writers, their emotional feelings grew. Lucy saw herself feeling something strong for Nzube that night. She felt connected to him in a special way she could not explain.
It was not long before Nzube started smooching Lucy, and eventually kissed her. They found themselves on the bed and completed what they started.
From that night, Nzube’s visit to Lucy’s room for secret copulation became a daily affair.
