The sound of the clasped door scared the sh.it out of my life. I was so much confused and perturbed as to why the factory door closed immediately I opened the container.
I screamed my boss’s name immediately with a shivering voice but he wasn’t replying.
I assumed that he might not have heard me because the factory was so big. I left the container immediately, still obviously shock of what I saw in it and I ran immediately to the point I left my boss, I couldn’t find him. I screamed his name again, but still, he wasn’t answering.
The whole place was already so dark and I couldn’t see any thing clearly in the darkness. So, I neglected the thought of finding my boss and I ran towards the door of the factory in order to open it and contact either the gateman or the security guy.
I tried to open the door, but it didn’t open as I had presumed. It was as if the door was locked from the outside. I was still trying to open the door when I remembered that I have a phone with me. I could at least, use the light.
I dipped my hand into my pocket to take it out, but it wasn’t there. I left the door immediately and I started ransacking my pocket, the phone was still not there.
I was just about to give up on finding it when it dawned on me that I had dropped the phone beside the door of the container when I was screaming. I left the door immediately and I started trying to find my way in the darkness.
“What is a container full of corpse doing at the dock. Who placed it there. Where’s my boss. Did he disappear?”, different questions kept on racing through my mind as I was running in the dark.
I was eventually able to locate my phone and I picked it up from the ground. I put the flashlight on immediately my hands touched it and luckily for me, my phone’s flashlight was as bright as that of a vehicle and I could literally see anything I point the flashlight to.
I smiled at myself and I was proud of the kind of phone I possess. I started turning the flashlight around out of happiness, until I turned it to the direction of the container. What I saw scared me to my marrow.
I realized the the corpses and bodies that were inside the container has changed position. The bodies that were oncenpiled up on each other earlier were no longer stacked upon each other and the bodies that was scattered around every corner of the room have been packed to one side.
What scared me the more was the fact that the number of the bodies seems to have reduced which proves that someone was there when I went to the door. And if no one else was there, the only thing I could come up with was that those corpses in there are walking dead.
Without wasting much time, I started running frantically round the factory as if I was going to die the next minute if I stop. I knew that dying in the hands of a walking dead will be so brutal.
I kept on running like a mad man and I was still running till my sight fell on someone that was hiding behind the crates of beer. Due to the brightness of my phone, I was able to see everything around the person including the cloth he was wearing.
I stopped running abruptly and I started walking gently and stealthily towards the person. The person turned out to be my boss.
He seems like he was trying to hide himself behind the crate and when I asked him why, he said he ran immediately he heard me scream.
“Maybe we should go and unlock the door together then. I’ve been banging the door since and the security guard couldn’t hear me. I just saw a pack of corpse in that container”, I said as I pulled him up from the ground.
“Let’s be quick then. It’s so dark already and the time should be around 9:00pm”.
I pulled him up and we started walking beside each other towards the door.
We were still walking towards the door when my sight fell on a rope that was hanged at the top. It was a fat long rope and towards the end of the rope was a hanged part of a lifeless body. I couldn’t identify the victim at my first glance
Even though I was so scared, I took my time to identify the person and it turned out to be the body of my boss that was walking beside me about a seconds ago.
