SISTER ADURAGBEMI.
Part 3
By Ojo Rhoda Ayanfeoluwa.
If you truly love your dear life, don’t tell anyone what you heard today. Else, consider yourself dead!!!!” A message from Joy.
Adura was scared to her marrow. She had at a point in her life prayed for death to snatch her which never happened. Now, someone was threatening to kill her.
Why would she be scared of death?
She was scared to die because she didn’t want to break her mum’s heart.
She decided to keep what she saw that day, a secret, but she vowed never to serve God again.
God to her was unreal. If there was God, why didn’t he send thunder from heaven to strike them when they were fornicating?
Why didn’t God raise her father up from the dead? Why didn’t she receive her miracles? Many “whys!” that were yet to be answered.
She felt God was fake.
“Due to an urgent reason, I’m sorry to announce to you that Pastor Bayo won’t be present this morning. So, for this reason, Pastor Biola will take over today and when Pastor Bayo is back from his village, he will continue.” Pastor Ade announced to the whole congregation.
Many people expressed their displeasure by murmuring. Many weren’t happy that Pastor Biola was taking over.
” Can’t Pastor Bidemi handle the service? Can’t Pastor Pelumi take over? Pastor Bayo’s messages are always too raw and bitter for us. He doesn’t preach messages that will lift our spirits. He doesn’t teach on topics that will motivate us, rather he centres on boring holiness.” Someone said.
As usual, the message Pastor Biola preached that day was so bitter to many.
When it was time for praise and worship, Adura thought sister Joy was going to drag her tiny feet to the podium.
“Praise the Lord church! Let’s begin to wave our hands to the king of kings and the ancient God.” Joy said as she immediately fell on her knees.
Adura didn’t expect any word from her. She wasn’t comfortable with the fact that sister Joy had the boldness to still mount the pulpit after fornication.
Anger grew out of Adura’s body. She hissed immediately. There wasn’t any difference in the way she has been handling the section before.
” Can’t the angels of God slap this sister’s face?” She asked no one in particular.
Everything was still going well when sister Joy suddenly fell on the floor. Many people thought she fell under anointing.
The moment they saw her bleeding, many people ran towards her and rushed her to the hospital.
The service ended very early because of the issue of Joy.
“Pastor, your patience tried committing abortion. Unfortunately, she took the wrong medication for it. I pray she survives it.” Dr. Adewale announced.
“Abor_____what!!!!!? Please someone should wake me up from my dream” Some Pastors said.
Everyone present with her couldn’t hide the shocking news they received .
“Sister Joy of all people. So, the spiri-koko sister isn’t a saint but a worker if the devil” someone said sarcastically.
Pastor Biola faced Joy’s side and began to interrogate her.
“Who is responsible for the child?” Pastor asked.
Joy was reluctant to reveal who the man was. She kept crying.
When it was as if Pastor wasn’t giving up on the question, she sighed deeply and said “Pastor Bayo” as calm and firm as possible.
“Please, come again.”the pastor said.
When he realized that all she told him were truth, he allowed a very hot tear to run down his cheeks.
He tried calling Pastor Bayo but all went down the drain. His line was switched off.
After some days, she was discharged from the hospital.
Adura’s sister felt led to sister Joy to assist her to come back to her feet soon.
There was a particular day that she heard a very small still voice instructing her to leave all she was doing and rush down to Joy’s place.
Adura kicked against the idea when her sister informed her. Her sister wasn’t really interested in going to her house
She still felt that small still voice whispering to her to rush down to Joy’s place, but she remembered she had an important thing to do. She made up her mind not to pay Joy a visit.
Little did she know that that was going to be the last day for Joy on earth.
“RIP sister Joy😭😭😭😭” someone’s status read.
Adura couldn’t believe what she saw. She called her sister immediately.
Adura’s sister broke down in teard immediately. She didn’t know that holy spirit was instructing her to carry out an urgent task.
God actually wanted to use her sister as a tool for restoration, but she wasn’t bothered. She was disobedient.
God wanted to use her sister to trace Joy back to calvary, but she was too busy.
Joy committed suicide when the shame became unbearable for her. Her partner in immorality, Pastor Bayo ran away from her by traveling to another place. His lines weren’t going through. No one to bear the shame with her and she felt that was the end of life for her.
If only Adura’s sister heeded to the spirit of God, Joy wouldn’t have died.
It’s good to listen to the voice of God.
It’s good to be obedient to the voice of God.
Pastor Bayo was…..
To be continued.
