SISTER ADURAGBEMI.
PART 23
By Authoress Rhoda.
“Sade, will you marry me?” Adeleke asked one fateful afternoon as he knelt down on one of his knees , stretching out a golden ring.
Sade didn’t know something like that was comimg. Of a truth, he met Adeleke some months after she broke up with Lanre. They were just casual friends and nothing more.
She was so free to him to the extent that she opened up her heart-felt wounds to him. He on the other hand offered his listening ears and precious time to her. He was the one who made serving God easier for her. He was the one who made it so easy for her to move on in life.
At a critical point where Lanre showed up with threats , he stood by her.
Yes, Lanre was the one responsible for Sade’s pregnancy some months before they broke up. After they parted, Sade went to see Lanre inorder to divulge the information about the pregnancy to the so-called father of the growing baby.
On getting there, he reject her He rejected the pregnancy. He said a lot, called her names and almost worsen the case. Tears couldn’t stop flowing from her eyes. She was broken beyond measure. She thought of aborting the baby, but she remembered the warnings her maker gave.
She revealed everything that happened to her parents and her sister, they encouraged her to keep the baby.
The fear of nursing a fatherless baby made her heart to crumble. She just couldn’t stand the thought, but the deed had been done, the baby was born.
The fear of getting married as a single mother also broke her heart into pieces. She felt no man would like to settle for a woman who had a child and also who had a terrible past.
For that reason, she developed herself. She closed her heart about marriage. All that was on her mind was how she would make it in life. She was so keen about being valuable. She discovered who she was, learnt skills, built her confidence, built her interpersonal relationships, built her spiritual antenna, all within one year.
Sade’s story became a source of motivation to young girls. She impacted lives especially secondary school girls. She assisted her sister in her foundation meant for the disabled. The two of them became great icons to reckon with.
Sade was so valuable to the extent that Adeleke couldn’t ignore her for being priceless.
Adeleke had been making signals to her about his interest in her , but Sade was wasn’t thinking towards that direction.
Of a truth, Adeleke had everything, I mean everything a woman ever needed in a man.
Adeleke was a man of purpose. He was physically attractive, in fact, his physical appearance could make a woman to fall for him at first sight. His lips were pink to the extent that a sane woman could crave for just a touch of his lips on her lips (kiss). What about his height? Very tall man!
What about is complexion? Very fair in complexion!
What about his diction? He was so fluent in English language.
So, tell me why a sane woman will not fall for someone like him. But Sade didn’t fall. Her heart was sealed. To her, Adeleke doesn’t deserve someone like her.
Funny enough, Adeleke was that same fellow asking her out.
She felt she was dreaming.
“Adeleke, how are you doing?”She asked, trying to snap out of her imaginations.
“Sade, will you marry me?” His voice penetrated into her heart this time around and broke every barriers.
Sade couldn’t help but shed tears.
“I am not worthy to be your wife ,Adeleke. Go and get another woman who will give you the best. Remember, I wish you the very best in life for all you’ve done in my life. I promise to compensate you in the nearest future.” She said as she walked away, drinking tears like water.
Adeleke followed her immediately and held her to himself tightly.
“Sade, I know your worth. You are priceless. I don’t deserve you. But, I want to spend the rest of my life with you. I know you had a bad past. I am not interested in your past. I am interested in the future involving the two of us and our lovely children. Please don’t say no to me, because I may go crazy. You are everything I want in a woman. Please, accept my proposal.” Adeleke said as he was fighting back tears that were about to fall .
Sade was still in tears. After much plea, she told him she would pray about his proposal.
After two weeks, she gave him a fat “YES!!!”. You could imagine how Adeleke’s heart leaped for joy. Mr. Lover couldn’t hide his joy, he was grinning from ear to ear as if he was a baby.
After one year, they tied the knot. It was a glorious day for the two of them. Before the wedding day, Adeleke adopted Sade’s son. He became his foster father. Meanwhile, Lanre had been begging Sade to at least permit him to have access to his son, but Sade made up her mind to deny him access to the boy she singlehandedly suffered to bring to the world .
On Sade’s wedding day, Aduragbemi met her lover. She met Mr. Temitayo who happened to be a wealthy man. It wasn’t as if Adura walked over to him to show her interest in him. In fact, Adura already wrote marriage off, so desperation for a man’s love was out of the equation,
Mr. Temi walked up to her and explained how convinced he was that Adura was the woman God had been telling him about that would be his wife for the past three years.
In one word, after seven months, they did introduction, engagement and wedding day was fixed.
On Aduragbemi’s wedding day, everything was unusual.
The man of God who took the sermon suddenly changed the topic of the sermon. He had it in mind to talk about what successful marriage entails, but by the instruction of God, the message changed to healing and deliverance.
Everyone was shocked. It became so real after thirty minutes when a lady screamed at the back, shouting “praise the Lord, I can now see.”
They were still recovering from the joy of a blind woman seeing when a man at the middle stood up and began to walk. Everyone shouted for joy knowing fully well that the man had been lame for many years.
The number of people that gave their lives to Christ in the program was uncountable. Everyone experienced real fire of God. Many people were baptized in the holy ghost. Many people were delivered from the kingdom of darkness.
The encounter was real. The presence of God was mighty. Everyone was groaning in the spirit.
“Aduragbemi, truly your prayers have been answered this day, RISE UP AND WALK”.The pastor commanded.
Immediately, Adura rose up and began to walk. She began to jump.
Everyone shouted for joy. Some were rolling on the floor. Some were crying(for joy)seeing what God has done.
Adura’s husband was on the floor, appreciating God for his wife’s life.
What if he had abandoned her because of her condition? He wouldn’t have encountered God. Yes, God healed one of his deaf ears.
Wedding ceremony turned to revival centre. It turned to a miracle centre. Everyone was blessed beyond measure.
From church, they moved to the reception. The presence of God was mightyly felt as they danced and danced and danced to appreciate God.
Interestingly enough, Adura danced on her feet, without the aid of her wheel chair.
The purpose why she was disabled was achieved. God used her disabilities to touch many people in her shoes. God used her as a vessel to propagate His kingdom.
Her wedding day marked the beginning of great things in her life and that of everyone present.
Truly, God answers prayers.
If she had committed suicide because of her condition, would she be heard or celebrated? No!
If she had given up on God and solicited help from the devil , would she have received her long lasting miracle from God? No!
***
I don’t know what you have been asking God for, for a very long time now. I just want you to know that God still answers prayers. He may not answer now. But,at the right time in His own plan, he will answer your prayers. Remember, God makes everything beautiful in His own time. Don’t give up on God.
Don’t go and meet the devil for help, because you think God is sleeping.
If you seek help from the devil, be rest assured to be moving from frying pan to fire.
So , please, keep trusting God.
You have a story to tell. Millions of lives are attached to your destiny.
Many people are looking up to you to hear the story of how you overcame life challenges. Tell me, do you want to disappoint them by giving up? Do you want to fail them by committing suicide? Don’t do!
