SISTER ADURAGBEMI.
Part 15.
By Authoress Rhoda.
“I am sorry, Aduragbemi. It is over between us.”Lanre announced on the phone when it was if Aduragbemi wasn’t getting tired of calling him.
He actually wanted to ignore those calls, but his phone rang persistently. He had no choice than to pick her calls.

Sometimes, when your prayers aren’t answered, YOU NEED PERSISTENCE. If you keep praying to God about something, He will definitely answer.
Have you prayed to God once about something and you haven’t gotten an answer? Please pray again and again and again.
NOTE: This is only applicable if you pray aright.

Adura couldn’t believe her eyes. At first, she thought she was dreaming.
“Hello, it is over between us, but before I hang this call, let me give you a piece of my mind.” Lanre said.
Adura still didn’t understand what he said.
“Please, can you come again.”Confused Adura pleaded.
Anger was well written on Lanre’s face, but was not visible to Adura.
” You are ma.d! You are dea.f. You thought I was a fool. Despite all I did for you, you went ahead, having affair with another man. Non.sense” Lanre shouted.
“Affair??? Lanre, are you out of your mind? How will I have an affair with another man. You know perfectly well that men run away from me because of my disability, so tell me how having an affair with another man is possible. I guess someone fed you with lies.” Adura roared. She was at the verge of shedding tears.
” Shut up you blo.ody liar!!!”Lanre barked.
” Lanre!!!! What are you saying?” Adura was more confused.
” I knew from the very beginning that you were after my money. Despite your condition, I pitied you and fell in love with you. I spoilt you with every good thing just to make you feel like a normal human being, but I guess you payed me back in a very wrong way. Well, I have moved on, since you don’t deserve my rare love. If someone like me doesn’t marry you, I am scared, you may never get married all through your life time.” He said.
Tears forced itself out of Aduragbemi’s small eyes. She couldn’t believe all she heard.
” Lanre, have I ever told you a lie before? I am very sincere with you. I don’t have any other man in my life. Please, don’t leave me. My life will be shattered if you leave me. I can’t leave without you. I will die if you leave me. Pleaseeeee….” Aduragbemi pleaded, but all fell on deaf ears.
He ended the call.
She broke down, wept as if she was going to pass out.
” Who could be behind this?” She asked no one in particular.
She was still buried in her tears when her sister walked in.
She noticed Aduragbemi had been crying for long. She went over to where she was and gave her a soothing hug.
“Sade, Lanre broke up with me.” Aduragbemi finally announced.
Sade didn’t know how to receive the message. At first, she wanted to jump for joy, but she cautioned herself.
She felt like crying, just to empathize with her, but she refrained herself.
Mixed feelings were playing on the table of her mind. She was lost in her thoughts.
” Sade, I said Lanre broke up with me. He said he met me with another man. How possible is that for a lady with disability.” She asked, jolting Sade out of her thoughts.
“Don’t mind that brother. You know I told you from the onset that, that guy you called your man wasn’t going to last because right now, I think he has seen a better woman with two legs he can call a wife. I think he is tired of loving a woman on a wheel chair.”Sade said while playing with her sister hairs.
” What do you mean?” Adura asked, removing her hand from her hairs.
” I’m telling you the truth. Sister, just move on. God will bring the right man for you at the appointed time for you. He will grant you a man that will accept you for who you are. Although it may take time because I doubt if any man will ever marry someone like you. Well, maybe for your intelligence.” She said sarcastically.
” What is wrong with you? What are you saying? It is well. Please fix something for me to eat huh!” Adura said.
” You have your hands, please fix something for yourself. Maybe that was why Lanre broke the relationship when you will always depend on people to do things. Brother didn’t want to be over-burdened, maybe that was why he….
“Shut up there!” Aduragbemi shouted.
“If you know you can’t fix something for me, so be it. Don’t bother, but why must you mock me because of my condition. Why???? I have made up my mind not to shed a single tear because of my predicament, but you made me do so right now… Your words are tearing me apart. Why?? ” She cried.
Her sister wasn’t moved. She left out immediately leaving Aduragbemi in a pathetic condition.
She kept on questioning God. Many thoughts climbed her heart.
Will I ever fall in love? Will any man ever accept me for who I am ? Why is it so hard for miracle to happen in my life? Why is everything against me?
Why??????
The thought of Lanre flooded her mind. The moment she remembered the break-up , she felt like committing suicide.
She called her mum and narrated everything to her. Although she did not tell her mother about the suicidal thoughts climbing her mind.
Her mother was moved to tears. She remembered some of her darkest moments. As if she knew that suicide was the next agenda on Aduragbemi’s plan. She acted fast.
Her mother placed a call across to the Associate female pastor in Aduragbemi’s fellowship. She narrated everything to her.
At the spur of the moment the pastor Mrs. dashed out of her apartment and straight to Aduragbemi’s hostel.
On getting there….
To be continued.
