“Sister! Sister!! Sister!!!” A voice called.

Who could that be or who was the sister someone was referring to?

Adura and her sister looked back, only to find out that a brother had been running after them, shouting sister.

The two ladies stopped walking, waiting patiently for the brother to catch up with them.

“Oh my God, Brother Lanre!!” Adura screamed.

“And what about brother Lanre? Sade asked, with her voice spelling danger and her look spelling fire.

Cheerful Adura became scared all of a sudden. She kept quiet, trying to process things in her mind.

******

Brother Lanre was a tall, dark and handsome, well built with a charming smile, and a charisma that could sweep women off their feet.

From a far, his lips tipped into a roguish smile, and Adura felt her stomach chum.

“God, let Lanre be my husband.” Adura prayed silently.

“Forget it Adura, stop looking at Lanre like that. He cannot marry someone like you.” Sade said leaving her sister in a confused state. She didn’t know the feelings she had for Lanre was what her sister had towards the same Lanre.

“Good afternoon, sisters.” Lanre greeted with his baritone voice that caused Adura to melt in love for him.

“Good afternoon, Brother Lanre. You look more handsome today.” Adura said, beaming with smiles that almost made bro Lanre to forget himself. It was as if he should lock those lips of hers in his.

“Stop it brother Lanre! Stop staring at my sister like that. Good afternoon, brother Lanre.” Sade said as she walked closer to Lanre, trying to offer her hands to him for handshakes.

Unfortunately, he refused her hands.

” I just wanted to say hi to you, Adura. I must confess, you are one of the strongest sisters I have ever met. I don’t mind being your intimate friend.” Lanre said while they exchanged contacts.

Adura was blushing while her sister was fuming in anger.

“Good bye, sister Adura.” Lanre said, ignoring Adura’s sister.

Just that singular act of ignorance made Sade to burst into anger.

“I just truly know that you are a blind man. You saw me here, you only greeted my sister. Am I not better than her? Am I not more beautiful than her? Why on earth must you ignore me?” She yelled.

Bro Lanre apologized to her and took his leave.

The two ladies went home in silence. Adura decided not to talk to her sister, her sister on the other hand decided not to talk to her.

For days, they kept malice but that didn’t stop Lanre from communicating with Adura. In fact, they became so intimate to the extent that they kept nothing from each other.

Their closeness brought about hatred in the heart of Sade. To her, her sister snatched her crush. Her sister hijacked the man she thought of spending the rest of her life with.

But, little did she know that Lanre had been a secret admirer of Adura even despite her predicament, for a very long time.

Of a truth, Lanre was a very rich guy, the dream of many ladies. He was a caring man who knew how to connect with souls of people in need, distress and anxiety.

Many thoughts ran through Sade’s heart. To her, she was definitely going to have Lanre back although it might take time. But to her sister, she wasn’t letting go of Lanre to any fuc.king person like her sister.

“It is either I have Lanre or none of us have him.” Sade finally announced one morning.

Adura wasn’t happy with her sister.

To her, God has answered her prayers by bringing a man to her despite her disability because she read overtime that ladies with disabilities tend to marry late because of men being scared of taking them to the altar.

But, what are we going to say about two ladies, one with disability and the other without a disability, fighting over a man?

How are we going to interpret “a lady with disability getting married before a lady without a disability?”

That was what prompted the animosity between two sisters from the same family.

The way Lanre showed Adura with gifts and love made matter worse.

He couldn’t do without making Adura feel on top of the world daily, either by buying gifts that would cause her to scream his name out loud for joy or by spending quality time with her, singing with her, playing games with her or taking her out for fun.

Despite all these, Adura was still performing excellently in her academics while her sister had lots of carry-overs.

Many people loved Adura but her sister wasn’t loved because of her bad attitudes and her tongue she make use of in throwing stones to people in form of curses that could cause hot tears to rush down form one’s eyes.

But Adura was humble, calm, respectful and kind to everyone who ever crossed her path.

Now tell me why she wouldn’t be acceptable by all?

Even lecturers loved Adura.

In fact, it was obvious that their parents loved Adura more than Sade.

Sade tried all she could to bring brother Lanre close to herself, but all went down the drain.

She just wanted Lanre or no one else.

She came up with another strategy.

What was the strategy? Was it successful?

To be continued.
