Regret episode 6

Regret

Episode 6️⃣

Susan has not been herself ever since her brother Lota told her Jide lives with HIV. She has counted twice she made out with Jide without protection. She quickly went down on her knees to beg God for mercy.

Oh Lord please, if you make me come out negative I promise I will stop! I will stop! I swear I will not cheat on my husband again in this life! God, please oo! Susan cried at the top of her voice while on her knees.

She summoned courage and decided to go off the town and have herself diagnosed. After the test, the doctor called Susan in her office.

How are you feeling? The doctor asked Susan.

I’m very fine. Susan answered burying her face on the floor.

You see, coming here today is one of the best steps one could ever make. Is good for one to be checking his/her HIV status highest twice a year. And having HIV does not mean immediate death. Yes, it doesn’t mean a death sentence…

Doctor, why are you telling me all this, are my positive? Susan interrupted the Doctor.

Calm down, Susan. The Doctor said still holding her result. One, Knowing his/her status early enough can prolong his/her life instead of waiting for their immune system to be damaged. HIV can’t stop you from going about your business or living your life. With the help of antiretroviral drugs, you can live longer…

Doctor, you are beating about the bush! Tell me if I’m positive or not. Susan interrupted the doctor again with her heart beating heavenly.

Yes, you are positive but that doesn’t mean you will die…

The doctor was still saying Susan collected her result from her and walked away.

Susan got home and went straight to the visitor’s room and locked herself up. The husband who thought she was coming back from work went to the door and was hitting it and also beg her to come and share what it might be with him but Susan gave a deaf ear.

Susan spent the whole night in the visitor’s room and still refused to come out in the morning.

Dad, what’s wrong with mummy is she okay? Blossom asked her Dad.

Yes, I think she’s fine. Come let me take you to school I will find out later. Ken, after taking Blossom to school. He went to his wife’s office to see Jide because he concluded maybe his wife was sacked or it has something to do with the office work.

You must be Jide the CEO. Ken asked Jide as he arrived at his office

Yes, I am. And you are Mr. Kennedy Oforkansi? Jide asked Ken.

Exactly, it seems you know me too well.

Yeah, I did I attended your wedding and I was Lotanna’s best man on his wedding day though it’s been a while beside who doesn’t know Kennedy Oforkansi? The formal manager of big LK Global Company. Ken said in a bite mockery way.

Ken, was ashamed when Jide addressed him as the former manager of big LK company because he knows Jide must have known the whole story surrounding his dismissal from LK Company.

Nice to meet you, Kennedy. Jide said.

The pleasure is all mine. Ken replied.

Please have a seat.

Thank you so much.

What do I owe this August visit? I didn’t expect it. Jide said smiling.

You are right because I didn’t suppose to be here in the first place but something triggered my coming. My wife has said so much about you. I’m here to see you and have a word with you as her friend not just as her Boss.

Am I on the safe side here? Hope she said good things about me. Jide said smiling while his heart beats faster because he doesn’t know what Ken has heard.

Hahaha! No cost for the alarm, my brother. You see, my wife came back from work yesterday early with a long face and in a very bad mood. I know is too early for me to be here and asked if something went wrong here or if she was sacked probably, but the mood she is in right now is not a mood I will see her and still wait for the next day before making a move. Please did he do something that led to her sack because is only a sack later that will keep my wife in such a mood?

Woo! I’m surprised because something like that didn’t happen. Yesterday, I noticed she was not in her office. So, I don’t think she was at work yesterday. Anything it may be I don’t think it comes from here. Jide explains.

You mean she was not here yesterday?

I’m sure, she wasn’t.

Thanks so much for your time Jide. You are indeed a good man. I will be on my way now. Ken stood up and said.

You are welcome, Kennedy. Jide said and they both shook each other’s hands.

Ken, got home and Susan was still locked in the room.

Susan, listen to me if you didn’t open this door this minute I will break it down this moment. Ken said and waited for some minutes no sign of Susan coming to open the door then he attempted to break it down that was when Susan opened the door.

I don’t blame you. You wanted to break down the door because you know the money-making machine will fix it with her money. What are you good at in this house if not only eating and laziness? Thief! Your mates steal and still have something to show off but yours is a different thing! You stole and got yourself sacked and became a burden and a misfortune to me. Phewww! Susan angrily said as she pushed Ken aside and walked out on him.

Ken was shocked and could not move from where he stood or even utter a word. He couldn’t believe that such a thing will ever come from Susan’s mouth.

To be continued…
