Regret
Episode 1
For how long do I hide and lie about the whole thing? I think is high time I tell Suzan about my job. After all, she’s my wife and she deserves to know the truth. That’s Ken talking to himself.
Talk of the devil and he appears. I was telling Blossom that her Dad will soon be home, here you are as if you knew she has been calling Daddy all day. But why are you home early? And your face is not looking bright. What happened Ken?
I have something to tell you, Susan. Ken said looking straight into Susan’s eye.
Susan’s heart started beating so faster. You scare me with the look on your face Ken. You don’t even want to sit down in your own house. Common in darling. Let’s go to the bedroom. Whatever it is we will solve it together.
Susan held her husband’s hand as they walk side aside to the bedroom.
Darling, I lost my job. Ken said as tears rolled uncontrollably from his eyes.
Ooh Ken, come here. Susan rested Ken’s head on her chest. Stop crying, sweetie. We are here for each other. Listen to me Ken, we will scale through this. When one door closes another opens. Cry no more Ken. Just don’t cry.
I love you, Susan.
I love you more Ken.
They hugged each other and silently cried together.
Come to the dining I prepared your favorite. They both went to the dining and ate together. Ken applauded Susan’s cooking as usual.
Ken, what happened? Why did you lose your job? Susan asked Ken
I was guilty of mismanagement and embezzlement of funds. I’m so ashamed that I of all people could fall victim to what I stand against. I’m sorry Susan.
It’s okay Ken, at least you have worked for the company for years now. I think now is the best time for us to start up a big business of our own. Susan suggested.
No money for business Susan. Ken responded
Oh my goodness! Did they cease your bank accounts too? Susan asked.
No, baby, they did not. Ken answered
Then why did you say there’s no money?
I was fired four years ago. The work I told you I was going to every morning there was no work. I was using the time to look for another job and asking friends for help. All the house rent, Blossom’s school, feeding, your shopping, and everything we do in this house were from my savings. I do not have up to a hundred thousand in all my accounts anymore.
Christ!!!! Ken, you have killed us. How could you be unwise in all this? Why couldn’t you tell me all this why? We are busy paying house rent of five million yearly. Blossom is attending one of the biggest schools and we are living large I was thinking things were as it was before. Ken, what have you done? Susan said crying.
Hey baby, don’t give up so easily. See, I believed you when you said we will scale through this. I also believed you when you said when one door closes another opens. Please baby stand with me.
Susan doesn’t stand Ken’s tears. It always breaks her any time she sees Ken cries.
Don’t cry, baby. You always have me. I will always stand by you and I love you so much.
Both of them hugged each other and still cried together.
Babe, I’ve been thinking. You know if you had allowed me to use my certificate, I would have taken it up from here pending when you will bounce back again. I have my brother’s best friend who wanted to give me a job in his father’s company. My brother told me his father is now late and he is now in charge of the company my brother said any day we both agree I will use my certificate he will always employ me. Baby, I think we need this job now. Let me go and know if there is still space for me. Please Ken
Are you sure you want to do this babe? Ken asked.
Of course baby, you know I always wanted this. Susan replied
You have my support. Babe, I want you to know you are the best thing that has ever happened to me. You changed me right from the very first time I set my eyes on you. You mean the world to me Susy. Always know I love you.
I love you too babe and you are my everything. Don’t worry we will survive okay?
