“you know I have always been telling about how you smoke Mia! I thought you promised not to ever smoke again?. Liam asked me as I sat starring at him dumbfounded looking so stressed.

“come on talk! why did you decide putting yourself in such a great risk? I told you the last time I did CT scan on you, that you should take all time to avoid smoking or drinking alcohol. but….why am I seeing this now?. he asked again as he removed his glasses.

Mr Liam has being my long time physiotherapist assigned health care ever since I came for a phycological session due to my depression. my existence of living is nothing to be compared of after I lost my parents and elder brother in a cold hand of hire killer. I have been suffering alone with my little sister Amelia for the past 3 years after their de ath.

Everything turns out as a nightmare to me that fateful day when some hefty broad guys came into our sitting room pointing gun at my parents while asking for a document that I think is related to my father business.

my father seems to be harden with them of nothing wanting to release it, that’s it’s his lifetime struggles and sweat. one of them pointed his gun at my brother and shot severally him at a spot. my father sprang up running inside and bring out a bag to them telling them to please spare his family as he held unto my mother who’s shivering and looking at the kitchen. after collecting the bag from him, they look around and shot them immediately as they ran out.

I held unto my sister Amelia as we both lean behind the wall in the kitchen. I peeked out and realized they were gone. i ran to the lifeless body of my parents and brother as we tried waking them up to no avail.

I don’t know any of my parents relative as we were not shown or visited any. I ran to the police station to report in which they made a tribute to them and got them laid to rest. I was told not to worry that they must surely get their ki ller and brought them to Justice. we were told to vacate our house so as not to be the next target as our house got sealed.

I had to relocate to my friend (Charlotte) house whose parents accepted our staying because they are really closed with my parents as her father is a good friend of my father.

Everyday of my life is just from one encounter to another. Charlotte 19 years who is also an age mate of mine and their daughter, she is a drug addict and smoker. she lures me into alcohol taking even though I do smoke secretly behind my parents before. but I couldn’t resist taking more than 20 packet of cigarettes per day ever since the incident in other to ease my pains and worry. Charlotte and I enjoyed partying at the club most of the time, because we get to enjoy our lives and have the best fun of our lives.

ya! Charlotte parents doesn’t care as they based mostly on their job and traveling most of the time. so, therefore we have much time to ourselves.

“Mia! come back to your senses!. Liam said holding my hand.

“I’m sorry ๐Ÿ˜” Mr Liam!… I’m so sorry! I know I promised you never to drink not smoke again. but, I just can’t resist it! .

“and now it as result to cardiovascular disease!!! an heart disease! and you seems not to know the health challenge you just create for yourself.

This occurs because the blood vessels canโ€™t carry enough blood and oxygen to the heart. Typically, this is because the vessels are damaged, diseased, or blocked by a fatty substance called plaque.

I went through the result and couldn’t hold my tears down.

“so, Mr Liam what’s the remedy to this now?. I asked shivering.

“I will prescribe drugs for you now and you must make sure you take it everyday. I mean everyday! and most especially, stay off smoking if you really love yourself! eat more of vegetables and fruits and make sure you keep any heavy thought out from your mind.
make sure you come to me or call me once you start having any fatigue or tight chest pain because….Mia! you only have 3 month to live!.

the report flip from my hand as I look at him in shock.
