chapter three
I woke up the next morning feeling so weak as I leap out from the bed to get ready for work. my memory suddenly flashed back to yesterday occurrence after sighting my sister bed and evacuation of Charlotte bed.
“oh God!. I sat back on my bed looking towards the door at least expecting Charlotte to come in.
After doing my makeup I set out to go carrying my office bag. a message came in and I unlock my phone to check.
* hey babe! can’t wait to see you.*
I grinned over Mason message as I put my phone inside my bag. I entered the sitting room and saw no one, I decided to go check Charlotte and opened her door and realized it was not opening. I called out to her and no response. I went to her mother room also and opened it and she wasn’t there.
“what’s going on?.
I looked out of the house and realized her car is not in the parking space. I became worry as I went to Charlotte room again and started banging it and still no response.
“could it be that… she’s high again or what? Charlotte! Charlotte!!. I called severally.
I took out my phone and dial her number but it kept declining,I tried her mother line too and it still did same.
“ha! what’s all this!.
I quickly dial Mason line and told him what is happening.
“are you sure they might not be around the house?. he asked.
“I’m not sure! her car is not at the car pack so, where could they have gone.
“okay… okay, I will come over now. so, just don’t panic okay!.
“just come please!. I ended the call and walked around the house calling their names to check if they might be close by.
“could they have traveled without telling me? no! it’s not possible.
“or is there something behind their muteness yesterday that I was not told?. oh! Mia! Mia! what’s happening.
I kept looking over my phone at Least expecting a call from anyone of them.
“but, how did they leave without me knowing.
I heard a car packed at the front of the house as I ran outside to check. it turns out to be Mason as he alighted out hurriedly and hugged me.
“are you sure you have checked everywhere?. he asked.
“I am Mason!.
I took him inside as I showed him Mrs Maxwell room and then to Charlotte room which is locked.
“let break the door. he said hitting the door repeatedly.
“Charlotte! Charlotte!! are you inside?. I said banging the door.
I went to take harmer in the store as we hit the door repeatedly as it eventually opened. I hurried inside and toy surprised seeing everywhere littered.
“this can’t be Charlotte room!. I said looking everywhere surprisingly.
“what is this?. Mason said holding up a piece of paper placed under a globe lamp.
I collected it and read through as it’s Charlotte writing.
*I know it will be late now Mia…. I’m sorry for what I did. I do not mean it.
please forgive me and moved on with your life without getting me involved in anything’….
if by luck your sister wakes up you will understand my apology. my mother knew the implications of what I have done.
but, I just pray your sister wakes up and find a place to forgive me in your heart….
“what is all these! what did she do to my sister?
“calm down Mia, just calm down!. I think we need to go and report at the statoion right away. he said holding me along.
“no! I have to go see my sister first!. I said in which he accepted.
Hospital πͺ
I was really frightening as I stand in the elevator going up to emergency floor. Mason hold my hand closely as we step out. I looked around as I went to the attending counter to ask about my sister.
“she is no more here. the nurse said after going through her data.
“what do you mean by that? or you just checked the wrong data. I said to her in an audible voice.
“calm down! I just tell you what I’m seeing here. Evenly Thoma got moved to another hospital yesterday night.
“what!!!. I shouted in disbelief.
“who took her away?. I asked screaming at her while Mason held unto me.
“who took my sister!!!!!
“we can’t disclose the movement of our patient to you because you’re not registered here as a relative.
“you must be joking!. I shouted at her scattering their desk.
“you better produce my sister out right now before I turn down this building!.
“calm down Mia! just calm down first!!!. Mason said carrying me as I free myself from him.
“what kind of person is this? early in the morning and she is behaving crazily. I heard one of the nurses saying to another as I wasn’t having their time.
“don’t tell me that mason! don’t tell me that. is as if Charlotte and her mother has eloped with my sister. I can’t take that. never! my sister must be brought out here!.
I said as I removed my wig flinging it at the receptionist going to and fro. luckily the doctor that attended to her last night walked him as I ran to him asking of my sister.
“I don’t know you. he said looking at how everywhere is messy.
“you just said what doctor? that…that you don’t know me! ha!!! my father in heaven! you don’t know me doctor!. I said in tears as I held until his cloth.
“what sort of nonsense is this early morning! you people should come and get this ma d lady out of here!. he said to the nurses as they make a call to the security downstairs.
Mason walked closer to him and punched his face.
“you must be crazy! for calling my woman ma d person! if her sister is not here then, why will she have the enfortery to come here to ask of her sister that was in coma here!. he said lambasting him.
“Is as if you two are crazy!. the doctor said angrily holding his cheek.
he shouted at the receptionist to be fast in sending us out as he walked to his office angrily.
“let me see my sister oooo doctor! you can’t tell me you know nothing of her whereabouts yesterday night. did Mrs Maxwell came for her or you just lied to me that she’s in coma! please let me know!!!!. I was shouting at the top of my voice as some security men walked in telling us to go out as a gentleman.
maron pushed them away as they tried pushing me off.
“don’t you dare! I will make sure I sue this hospital for negligence! . he said angrily at them as we entered the elevator in which my bag and wig was thrown at me before it closes.
“where’s my sister maron?. I asked as I bend down crying inside the elevator.
