Motherhood ππ. Part 10.
“Honey what’s the issue?”. My husband asked as he approached Julius and I.
“Help me ask your son what he has been doing inside his room all alone with the door locked”. I said to my husband.
“What were you doing inside?”. My husband asked Julius.
“I was sleeping. I don’t like what mummy is doing”. Julius said angrily.
“Will you keep quiet? Is it your mother you are talking to like that?”. My husband asked angrily.
“I’m sorry “. Julius muttered.
“Honey it’s okay. He said he was sleeping”. My husband said to me.
“Then why does he have an e******n and his shorts is a little bit wet”. I asked.
My husband looked at Julius saw and saw that his shorts was suspiciously wet.
“What happened?”. My husband asked him.
“I don’t know”. Julius murmured.
“This boy is after my life. I am tired”. I cried out.
“Honey crying is not good for your health. I don’t want anything to happen to our baby. Please calm down”. My husband said as he pacifies me.
My husband assisted me slowly back to the seating room and made me seat on the couch.
“The pizza is getting cold, let’s eat”. My husband said.
I’d already lost my appetite. My husband tried his best to make me take a bite. To make him happy, I reluctantly took a bite.
Jude ate cheerfully and happily. Julius on the other hand ate quietly.
Later that night, Julius was summoned to our bedroom by my husband.
He kept on asking Julius what he was doing alone inside his room that afternoon but Julius insisted that he was sleeping. At a point, he started crying.
My husband warned him never to stay alone in his room and he should never lock himself inside his room ever again.
I kept on shuffling between parenting and pregnancy. It was really a tough journey for me.
When my pregnancy got to the ninth month, I was so scared and anxious. I haven’t gotten over the birth of my boys. My husband kept assuring me that all would be well.
I intensified my prayer life. I gave alms and sowed seeds in the lives of the needy.
I fell into labor one afternoon. My husband was at work. He ran to the house immediately I called him.
He took me to the hospital.
To God be the glory, I delivered my baby naturally. I didn’t even spend up to ten minutes in the labor room before the baby came out.
It was a girl. It was a massive celebration. My family is now complete. I’m now a proud mother of two sons and a daughter.
On the day of her naming ceremony, family members travelled far and near for the celebration. It was a massive shutdown.
My baby girl was named Judith. We wanted all our children’s name to start with letter “J”.
Aunty Josephine was one of the people who came for the ceremony. She’s my husband’s distant relative . She came with her 11yrs old daughter. Same age with my boys.
She pleaded to leave her daughter Eunice with us. She told us that things were hard for her. She’s a widow with five children.
I took pity on her and pleaded with my husband for us to keep Eunice with us. My husband agreed.
I watched Eunice closely to see if she would be a bad influence on my kids but she turned out to be an amazing child.
I enrolled her in my sons school the next term.
She excelled so much in her education and made me really proud.
To be continued.
