CHAPTER FIVE
When I came back from the market, I came out and opened the gate. When I was in, I parked and then rushed and locked the gate. It was already 9 o’clock in the morning. Emma and Nuella were already up, watching their tv program. This time it was Mr Bean.
“Mummy!!!” they both screamed excitedly at the same time.
My hands were so full I couldn’t hug them back. I proceeded to the kitchen to drop them. I had only taken few things just so that my husband doesn’t ask me questions. I only took foodstuffs for the house and left the rest locked in the boot. When I went into the kitchen, it smelled of fried eggs and toasted bread.
“Have you guys eaten already?” I asked perplexed
“yes mama!” Emma answered.
“Who made you breakfast?”
“Daddy!” They both answered.
“Ooh !! okay. That’s new. He must have been in his good mood” I giggled. I went to the room to check what he was doing. I walked up the stairs and entered my room, but didn’t see him. I saw his outfit neatly placed on the bed. I took out my gabba I was wearing and put on something simple.
His phone started ringing and few minutes later, he came out rushing from the bathroom, n***d and covered in soap. When he saw me, he froze and I burst out laughing. He looked so hideous, covered in guilt
“Hahahaha! Why would you run out of the bath like that?” I asked still laughing.
“Nothing!” He said as he disgracefully goes back in.
“Who could…” I paused to think. It occurred to me that something is fishy. The phone rang again but this time he didn’t rush out.
I went closer the phone and saw a female name Sandra.
“Your phone is ringing should I pick it…”
“ Noo!” he answered in a loud voice before I could finished.
“ I mean, emm… I … I am done I will come answer it.”
“The person has been persisting for long. Are you sure it’s not something important.?”
“ No it’s not.”
“By the way. In the market today, this woman walked up to me.”
“ Ehe! What happened, don’t tell me you were fighting?”
“Not really she said I was frolicking around with her Man”
“ Seriously!!. And Are you?” he asked
“of Couse not!. Actually, I have been meaning to ask you this?
“What’s that Babe?” he asked picking up his trousers and wearing them.
“Oh! You called me Babe wow! It’s been ages.”
“Can’t I call my wife Babe?” pooling his well iron T-shirt and put it.
“Is everything okay?” I asked after long silence.
“ I mean is there anything you would maybe like to tell me?”
“No! No Babe.!” He said spraying his perfume.
“Babe dan enter the Matter” I whispered to myself.
“Okay have great day, am off to meet some friends. I will be back in the evening” he said picking up his keys
“In the Night you mean.” He ignored me and left.
