Revenge is a powerful tool that harvested by hatred, and once this tool is being unleashed, You can never know the amount of destruction or chaos that will occur, cause it will keep circling around and around until it has consumed everything.
Ever since I was little, I wanted revenge for what happened that night to my mom, I promised to myself that I was going to make those men pay to what they did to my mom and I’m not going to back down from that promise… But before those men could feel my wrath, both Asimi and her lover got to experience it first hand… After I brutally massacred Obaro, I turned my attention towards Asimi… She was afraid of course, cause she wasn’t facing that helpless little girl from years ago and she wasn’t facing a tolerant young lady who tolerated her bullshit… She was facing a vengeful and a mercilessly killer who was about to end her life right there and then.. She took to her heels trying to run for her life, but she wasn’t fast enough to dodge the dagger I threw at her right thigh, Asimi fell heavily rolling down the stairs, after being pierced by my knife,, When she reached down, she pulled out the dagger from her thigh and began to cry and m**n in pain dragging herself on the floor… I laughed slowly walking down the stairs in a playful manner staring at her… As I reached down I began to follow her as she quickly dragged herself to the kitchen, as we entered the place, Asimi grabbed on to her kitchen table standing on her feet as she balanced on the table crying.

Asimi ➡ (crying) Please Lily.. Please don’t kill me.. Please I’m sorry.

Lily ➡ {laughs) Sorry? After all you’ve done you want me to feel sorry for you?
.

Asimi ➡ Please Lily.. I’m begging you.. Please… I beg you in the name of God.. Don’t kill me… What would Tayo say if he saw you now? What would your mother say? Huh? Do you think they’ll be happy? Do you?
.

In that moment, I felt sorry for her, despite the fact I hated her, I actually felt sorry for her… I turned around thinking about what she said, I wanted to stop, I wanted to let her live but then my invisible friend Hate, popper right back into my mind.

Hate ➡ What are you doing? Do you actually believe she’s sorry? After all she’s done to you? People like her don’t feel sorry,… They never do and what do you think will happen if you let her go? Do you think She’ll keep quiet about this? Do you? Don’t forget what she did to Tayo… She doesn’t deserve to live… You’ve crossed the line Lily.. You’re no longer an innocent young lady, there’s no turning back.. You started this journey of yours.. Now you must finish it.. Oh and one more thing.. Behind you!

Shortly after that, I felt a hit on my back which made me to fall, It was painful and hurting.. As I turned around I saw Asimi with a pestle, She hit me again with it harder making me shout in pain, Her eyes were wild and full of fury..

Asimi ➡ YOU WITCH! I WAS RIGHT ABOUT YOU.. I’M GOING TO KILL YOU… I’M GOING TO END YOU, GO AND JOIN YOUR PROSTITUTE MOTHER IN HELL… ARRRGGGHHHH.

Asimi gathered all her strength and brought down the pestle trying to break my head but I quickly dodged, the pestle smashed the ground so hard that it broke in half, I quickly reacted punching her wounded thigh, she shouted in pain clutching her thigh, I pushed her hard with my legs, making her hit her back on gas cooker while trying to grab on for support she mistakenly turned it on, She grabbed a knife 🔪 charging towards me blindly… Seeing how open she was, I swung my feet at her hard hitting the side of her waist, She shouted in pain letting go of the knife, I grabbed her shoulders and drove a knee in her midsection, Asimi’s eyes popper wide open as she coughed out blood , as she bent down clutching to her stomach, I dropped a hard elbow on the back of her neck… Asimi fell down hard on the kitchen floor as she coughed and gasped for breath.. I bent down and turned her around, I sat on her stomach and punched the life out of her continuously… I kept punching and and punching her until my hands started to hurt.
After that, I got up from Asimi and spat on her face, i stared at my hands which soaked in Asimi’s blood,, I felt excited inside me seeing how I brutalized her, After that I picked up my daggers and was about to leave the house but I hesitated when Asimi started to speak to me.. I looked down on her staring at her swelled up and bloodied face..

Asimi ➡ You think this is over? I curse you! Wicked girl… Your future will never go smooth….. You will never find happiness in your life… You hear me? NEVER!!!

Lily ➡ You think anything you say will bother me? You wicked soul! Your curse will never follow me… As for my happiness.. I lost all that ever since everything was taken from me! And now… You’re going to feel the same pain I feel as well… You have no husband.. No child, no lover… And you’re going to die a lonely woman… This is my curse to you, you merciless b*tch.

Asimi ➡ GOD PUNISH YOU… MAY YOU DIE A GRUESOME DEATH… SO YOU CAN JOIN YOUR PROSTITUTE MOTHER IN HELL.

Lily ➡ No… My mother isn’t in hell because she’s not a worthless person like you and it is you who will burn in hell… And I’m going make sure you have a taste of what’s waiting for you at the other side.

I went over and turned yanked the gas pipe making it leak out… After that, I took a matches and closed the door of the kitchen locking Asimi inside… She began to shout loud banging the kitchen door as hard as she could… Shortly after that, I went upstairs and packed some valuable stuff that I would need, after doing that, I took my mom’s picture the one she took with dad during their NYSC days.. After that I left room and went out of the house, I went to the back of the house to where the kitchen window was, I lighted the matches and threw it inside, after that, I ran as fast as I could away from the place and moments after that the house exploded and bursted into flames.. In that moment, Thunder 🌩 struck in the sky and seconds after that rain started to fall heavily…. I stood at a safe distance watching as the flames 🔥 burnt the structures of house as the rains fell, I kept staring at the flames feeling so overwhelmed like I’ve never felt in my life. As I kept staring at the flames, Something about me changed that night, it was like my old self was replaced by a darker side of me, The once good Lily was replaced a bad Lily and to be honest, I never cared who I was now or what I did.. All I know is my life had changed that night and there was no telling what the future holds for me… So after staring at the burning house, I took my bag and ran as fast as I can under that heavy downpour, I ran and ran and ran to wherever my legs could take me…

The next morning, I woke up and found myself in a strange building… As I sat up, I saw some little dirty boys staring at me.. Moments later, one tall mallam came out nowhere and began to Hausa asking the boys what was happening… It was then I realized I was in an almajiri school.. I must have slept here last night…. After that I apologized to the mallam and left the place. For Hours I’ve been walking around the streets of Kano aimlessly without knowing where I was going… I felt tired, alone and hungry… After a while, I found a restaurant where I had to buy a meal for myself… As I ate the meal quietly I began to wonder what to do next… I had no home, and nobody to go to,… I began to think about Teddy.. The poor guy doesn’t know the terrible thing I did last night, He might might even probably even call me anytime soon, and considering the kind of situation I’m in I can’t risk involving him in this mess.. Teddy is a nice and good guy and he doesn’t need to be associated with the new me… So in that moment, I blocked his number… It pained me to do that and it also hurts that might never see him ever again.. But this is for the best.
After I was done, I paid the waitress and left the restaurant.. I was back on the streets again roaming around as usual… I kept walking and walking hoping I’d get someplace to finally crash, As I kept walking, my new companion popped into my mind again.

Hate ➡ Aren’t you happy to finally free?

Lily ➡ This isn’t freedom..i don’t want this..

Hate ➡ Oh… Then you prefer staying with Asimi and her lover? Is that what you want and besides.. Everyone you ever loved, everyone you cared about is gone.

Lily ➡ You don’t have to be so blun…….

In that moment, Halima popped into my mind… She wasn’t the only one who was gone… She was alive when Tayo and Asimi took me away from the orphanage.. Though its been many years, I’m sure she will accept me back.. Feeling so excited about this, I gathered my strength and ran to the orphanage… I could still remember the way back, I could never forget that way back to the orphanage.. I just can’t wait to see Halima’s face when she sees me all grown up… I bet she’ll be happy to have me a back, Minutes later, I arrived at the place but then I got a shocking surprise of my life… Instead of me seeing the orphanage, I saw an uncompleted building, some men were working on the place… My heart fell when I saw this… This was the place, I was sure of it… But where did the orphanage go to? Where was Halima? I wanted to cry but I decided maintain my cool and ask people about the place. I saw one small kiosk and asked the owner what happened to the orphanage, he said that the orphanage had closed down 5 years ago due to lack of funds and that the government had claimed the property, tearing it down in order to build a shopping complex… I felt heartbroken listening to all the man said… Moments ago I was happy that I was going to see Halima but now… She’s gone, Kano is a very big and crowded place and looking for her would be an impossible task… After that I thanked the man and continued walking..
An hour later, I stopped by at an Oasis bakery to buy some snacks so that I could have some lunch, while I was busy selecting the snacks I wanted, The TV which was in the place began to broadcast some news, As I stared at the screen, I was shocked to see that the news was about happened last night at Tayo’s house… I kept watching and listening to what the reporter was going to say, by the end of it all, it would seem that some people witnessed what happened last night and they all said they saw me standing right in front of the house… The reporter then said that the police were on the hunt for me but Lucky part for me was they had no picture of me, so they can’t guess who I am or what I look like.. But just to be on the safe side, I decided to leave Kano and move to some place else to start a new life..
I quickly took the snacks I wanted and paid for it.. I went to a nearby ATM machine and withdrew some money and after that I boarded a taxi to take me to Luxurious park in sabon gari market… Minutes later, i got there and went to buy a ticket but first I wanted to decide where I was going to go… My first thought was Lagos but then my eyes were busy staring at the bus that was going to Abuja.. After some thought, I decided that I would go to Abuja, I paid for the ticket and entered the bus… After some minutes, the bus became full and seconds after that The driver turned on the bus and drove us away… I sat by the window side feeling depressed that I was going to leave my place of origin but things have changed now and it’s time for me to move forward.

#TEDDY

For days now I’ve been trying to call Lily but her number was either unreachable, switched off or line busy…. I missed her dearly to be honest, School wasn’t the same without her, and walking alone back home sucks, Seeing her or feeling her presence makes me tingle, I just can’t do without her..I could remember the S*x we had, I always become hard thinking of it but it’s not because of the S*x that I’ve been missing her.. Lily is just so cool and independent and she has this fiery flare that makes me sticks to her always and she’s never too picky or snobby like the other girls… And she also has a good and honest heart, that is something that most of this b*tches don’t have this days…
Considering how things ended between us, I couldn’t go to her house.. So I decided to give her some time to cool off.
One Saturday evening, I was at home with my family, when the police came to visit us… We were surprised to see them, My father welcomed outside, cause he didn’t like or want anything to do with the police.. After discussing for a while outside, my father allowed them to come in, they sat on the sofa and I was asked to come down.
As I went down,, the police were busy staring at me as if I had done something wrong.. As I sat down, they dropped bombshell on me.

Police officer 1 ➡ Good evening young man

Teddy ➡ Good evening sir..
.

Police officer 1 ➡ How’s school?
.

Teddy ➡ It’s fine.. I guess..
.

Police officer 1 ➡ That’s good… Uhm what’s your name?
.

Teddy ➡ Teddy.
.

Police officer 1 ➡ Okay Teddy? Do you know a girl called Lily?
.

Teddy ➡ Lily.. Of course she’s my friend..
.

Police officer 1 ➡ I see.. And how long have you known her?.
.

Teddy ➡ Since we were in jss1… Is something wrong?
.

Police officer 1 ➡ Unfortunately yes… Some days ago.. Your friends house was burnt down to crisp..
.

Teddy ➡ WHAT??? IS SHE…..
.

Police officer 1 ➡ Relax Teddy.. She’s not dead but we found two bodies a man and a woman , all burnt and unrecognizable.. After some investigations we found out that the female body was her adopted mother as for the male we don’t know who he is, but we’re still looking.

Teddy ➡ So where is Lily?
.

Police officer 1 ➡ Well, that’s why we’re here.. You see we have some witness who said they saw her standing in front of the house while it was burning, we have reasons to believe she was responsible for the fire outbreak and the death of these two people.. Do you know where we can find her? I promise you she won’t be harmed.
.

I couldn’t believe it when the police man said that… I didn’t want to believe what I just heard but I clearly remembered Lily saying she was going to make them pay… God Lily.. What have you done? What drove you to cross that line? Why?
I felt sad for her…. Really. Besides I can’t blame for what she’s done. She was driven and blinded by hatred and rage.. Those miserable bastards made her this way.. If only they had been kinder and nice to her, she wouldn’t have been like this, she wouldn’t have been a criminal… Now only God knows where she went to… Oh Lily.. To think I would never see her again… She’s been the best thing that’s ever happened to me in my entire life and now she’s gone..
I kept quiet for a while looking blankly st the police man, I just couldn’t trust me… In fact police men are not to be trusted especially the ones in Nigeria.. I don’t care what she’s become, I won’t turn her in after all, she didn’t kill innocent people..

Police officer 1 ➡ Teddy! Do you know where she is?
.

Teddy ➡ No… I don’t know where she is.. In fact I never knew about this… I’ve been trying to call her now for days but she’s not answering…
.

Police officer 1 ➡ Are you sure? Think hard maybe she must have..
.

Teddy’s father ➡ Look Oga.. My son says he doesn’t know besides, the girl must have left Kano by now… I don’t think she’s stupid to stay here after what’s she’s done… If she contacts my son.. I’ll let you know.. Now if you don’t mind.. I’d like you all to leave.

Police officer 1 ➡ Okay if you say so… Good night sir… And sorry for disturbing your peace.
.

After that the police men left the house and I went back to my room, as I fell face first on my bed, I began to cry silently about Lily.. I couldn’t believe she left without saying goodbye, she could have done that at least considering how long we’ve been friends.. Well, what’s done is done and I’m not mad at her, I just hope she lives a better life.. I’ll always love her no matter what and I hope that someone we’ll meet again.. Goodbye 👋 Lily.
