They all agreed and made their way down the street. He watched them as they walked and was ever ready to drive to them as soon as he had noticed they have paused and touched something. His eyes should travel wide and deep and see things clearly even if is only for today, he had envisaged in his mind. The two of them narrowed down the street without looking back or even talking to each other albeit very nervous and terrified.
Janet finally by passed the sixth house and got to the seventh; touched a flower and moved moved a bit further (like two steps away) oga Dona touched it too and they both felt like something had left them.
Janet was wondering what she was doing with oga Dona at that spot and likewise Oga Dona too. They were starring at each other before Smart drove closer to them. Oga Dona saw his taxi and had imagined how comes Smart was driving it.
” I can explain everything, please lets go inside the car ” , Smart said in a low tone.
They went inside without any resistance and Smart narrated his tales of woe and what had transpired between them within this period.
Oga Dona was a kind and and down to earth human being so he took pity likewise Janet as he, oga Dona, has suffered alot in life especially during his youthful days. God has blessed and rewarded his unwavering efforts through driving and had given him a good and industrious wife too as well.
He drives sparingly this days and has retired to Agricultural business. His wife is recording tremendous success in her business and had gotten for herself another shop to add to the one he opened for her earlier.
He can’t quit driving just like that because all he had accomplished in life was through driving and hence driving is part and parcel of him albeit considering quitting completely at the fullness of time.
Smart’s life episodes touched him deeply and now, the urge to help him out is increasing rapidly. He just acquired a new shuttle – a mini bus and was about letting it out on hire purchase and Smart seems to be the prefered and only candidate. He must discuss it with his wife and help this young man out.
” Maybe you need to see a pastor, oga Dona chipped in..
Oga Dona is a man whom never misses sunday services except on rare occasions, he hadly attends midweek services except being triggered by his wife occasionaly. He was’nt that close to his pastor but maybe this is the right time to draw closer as this experience has thought him a great deal of lesson.
He called his wife to contact him in the church at once and had informed her about the urgency of the matter at hand. She abandoned all she was doing and rushed down immediately.
” Janet, how do we get to your sister, all the phones in your house are here i guess”?
She replied..
” Not all, Lizzy’s isn’t here “.
” who is Lizzy ” ?, Smart inquired..
” she is that my sister’s friend, i told you earlier was squatting with her “.
” okay, you said so, i can recall now “.
lizzy went gisting with her phone unlike Cecillia, Janet sister that left hers in the house.
Janet reached her small phone and searched for Lizzy’s phone number.
Cecillia, whom had been gisting endlessly with her neighbours on the other end of the compound, had believed Janet had returned and carried on with her domestic chores as usual. She is now done gisting and it had started to dawn on her about Janet’s whereabouts.
Immediately, Lizzy’s phone rang and it was Janet. She gave the phone to Cecillia and Janet had briefed her sister on the latest developments and she shouted in disbelief. She had been gisting and never believed her kid sister was under siege ever since. Lizzy too was in deep shock.
Oga Dona quickly collected the phone from her and disclosed his church location to her and urged her to hasten up as they were on their way. She rushed out and ran to the junction with her sliipers in her hands causing people to avoid her completely.
Before they could get to the church, oga Dona’s wife; madam Esther had arrived and waiting anxiously for her husband. They arrived afterwards, she charged through straight to her husband and embraced him in a lovable and jaw dropping manner. He briefed her quickly on the situation at hand. She sought for their pastor and arranged for a private meeting at once.
Janet sister had arrived now and all is set. They went inside the pastor’s office; pastor Paul and greeted him in unison..
” you all are wonderfully welcomed here bless you”, he signalled them to have a sit and they obliged.
Smart narrated his life story and including his contact with the notorious Smith, his sudden disappearance afterwards and what had transpired between them. Maybe, he is in prison now or so, he had thought always.
This was his first outing and smith had procure an inducing charm for him which he believed had been rendered powerless and useless as he made an open confession now.
The umbrella , cream and the wristwatch which he gave out earlier to Janet in the name of promo are its working agents.
Pastor Paul prayed fervently and annointed all of them including oga Dona’s wife. They all made their way outside where the car parked and he annointed the car and dispossed those items and thanked God for his grace, mercy and wonder works upon his children.
” this is the handiwork of God, bless his holy name, he asserted.
” God has taken control of everything “. He said further..
meanwhile oga Dona, has discussed his intentions of letting out his newly acquired shuttle to Smart on hire purchase but his wife had shocked him beyond comprehension. She had suggested and advised they grant him full custody and ownership of it unconditionally.
Oga Dona was very happy and still reeling in shock over his wife’s iniative. He thanked her for her wisdom and guidance always. Smart had suffered alot and sacrificing that shuttle
Is worth it. He needs to bounce back and start all over again on a comfortable and sound footing.
As they all returned to the Pastor’s office, he broke the news alternatively and it sounded like a breaking news to everyone present except madam Esther, oga Dona’s wife. Everybody was stunned!
Smart could not believe a man like oga Dona could do this, he imagined how oga Dona unlike his former boss – ” sir P ” who was even more wealthier than him could render such charity to him on a platter of gold.
He has never been this happy since that ugly incident months back. He’ s back on his feet again! He knelt down, praised God and thanked oga Dona and wife for their benovelence. He turned to Janet and promised with his life to stand by her side always. God has used her and oga Dona to overwhelm his enemies and lighten up his world.
Smart rededicated and reinstated his commitment towards serving God and likewise everybody present at that moment.
