THREE MONTHS LATER
I eventually got another house and took my mother there after her discharge from the hospital. She rolled on the floor thanking God on our behalf.
“My daughter what makes you relocate here?.” She asked.
I told her our previous house is no longer befitting for us and I felt relocating to a better place will be better.
“Thank you my pikin, God will bless you and continue to be with you on every side infact you really brought tears of joy in my life.” She said hugging me tightly as she cries.
“Mom, please stop crying, you really deserve more than this. Your happiness is my major priority and I will never make you shed tears of sorrow.” I said holding her tightly crying profusely.
“You won’t understand my daughter….”
“I do mom, because when I was packing out from there the landlord told me you’re owing house rent.” I said interrupting her.
“He has told you? that man is a big disturbance, I hope you didn’t pay him?.” She asked.
“Why won’t I pay him, I did na at least to clear off the debt for you.”
She stood speechless looking at me and drag me to the chair in amazement.
“Cynthia, I know you said you just secured a Job but is the payment that huge that could make you get this lovely apartment and also pay off our debt. Cynthia, don’t lie to me you…”
“I can’t lie to you mom! the job payment is much as you said but at the same time Florence helped me with some money freely to do most of it.” I said smiling.
She was surprised about Florence helping me and told me to call her in other to thank her. I did as she requested even though I have told Florence to help out in acting in as much I know my mother too well to question me on how I did everything. She thanked and appreciate Florence and also prayed for her. She said she will need to go to her shop in other to put some things in other because it as been long.
“You can’t go ooo mom, ehn! just forget about your shop for now. Don’t worry when you’re much better I will get a shop with different things to sale abeg.”
Vero
She looks sober at the front of her dad to complain about the drugs Micheal took to London to deliver that the buyer refused balancing his money while complaining that it’s not complete.
“Don’t worry I will talk to him okay, is Michael back?.” He asked.
“Not yet, is likely he returns tomorrow Sha.” She answered looking pissed up.
“Just calm down okay.” He said calming her down.
“Dad, infact I have something important to tell you and I will want you to give me go ahead.” She said sitting beside him and brought out her phone.
“Of course why not, tell me what it is.
“Check this, I know you will be so surprised.” She said showing the phone to him.
“Is this not ehm…that your friend Cynthia.” He asked looking at the phone again.
“She is no more my friend dad and infact what I heard about her really shocked me.
“What did you hear?”. He asked removing his glasses.

CYNTHIA
I and Gabriel are now getting along very well even though at times we do have issues but still we do end it in a stubborn way, is either he apologize or I apologize just for peace to reign. For some days now he has been asking me about my relationship with Vero and I told him we are just friends. He asked if I still visit her and I lied to him that I still associate with Vero, he will just signed up and wouldn’t say anything.
“Just be careful ” This is what always comes out from him after his silent response.
I have been waiting for him at the front of his house since morning expecting him I dialed his number but it was not going through then i had to call Florence to let her know.
“Wait make I call him papa first.” She said and ended the call.
“Where could he have gone to, at least he do inform me if he will not be around na ”
I checked my time and see that is 9:33am I dialed Florence number and it declined. I felt she might also be trying to call me so i chill waiting for her call. My phone rang just as have imagine.
“What did he say?.” I asked.
“He said he didn’t know that he ought to be at home.”
“Ha! but his not at home na “. I answered in fear.
“Maybe he went out to do something.” She said.
“But, well Sha no problem, I will wait for him.” I answered.
We both talked for awhile and then ended the call.
Some Hours Later
I was already dozing off when I heard a car sound. I opened my eyes and saw Gabriel alighting from his car with some shopping bags.
“Could it be that he went for shopping early in the morning for a purpose.” I muttered going towards him to collect it. Welcome sir.”
“I said stop the honorific I don’t like it.” He said walking inside as I followed.
” ohh’ I’m sorry then, where did you go like, you don’t go out uninformed.
” You can actually see what is on your hands so no more questions please.” He answered going inside his room.
“Watin dey always wack am sef any little things like this he will just flares up, who you epp sef.”
I packed the items to the kitchen and was surprised seeing fish, pepper, tomatoes e.t.c. I laughed packing them out. Ever since I started working here he has never for once cook before so, how come about all these.
“Who is he going to cook for? or is he having visitor? if I asked now he might start barking at me as if asked wrongly. I hope he won’t tell me to cook it Sha….”
“Are you expecting me to cook?.” He said behind me as I gripped in fear.
“Why should I cook it? am I here as a cook?.” I asked looking at him while pointing at the broom behind the door. That’s my work, I’m here as a cleaner and not a cook.
He came towards me grabbed me by my waist.
“What….”
“Shiiiiiii.” He looked straight into my eyes as my body melt like sugar.
I gulped down deeply trying not to really fall for him I tried pushing him off me as he held unto me more closely.
“Tell me you don’t know my feelings towards you Cynthia.”He asked.
“Don’t be a joker Gabriel! you know I’m sweating already.”
“I don’t care Cynthia.”
“Really, like you don’t care really?.” I asked feeling his warmness.
He let go off my body going towards the items. it actually feels like a dream come true for me on what actually happened.
“E be like say him just prophecy love to me ooo.” I muttered lingering behind him.
” Can you still cook it or I should do it.” He asked smiling at me which makes me blushed.
“I think you should cook it then but I must eat ooo.” I said winking at him.
He told me to come wash the fish for him because he can’t do it.
“Are you not going to eat out of it?.” I asked.
“Of course! I just want you to help with it.” He begged.
I carried the fish and pour inside a bowl and rinsed. I carried the water and told him to go pour it away, he step back like tortoise telling me it smells badly. I laughed at him continuously teasing him that I will pour the water on him.
“Then, I’m not cooking again.” He said removing the apron on him.
I ran after him holding his back that he shouldn’t go that I was only joking.
I stood by him all through his cooking to put him through and he wowed with the result. We both eat and had a wonderful moment forgetting the difference between boss and worker. He made me forgot to clean the house, it was later in the evening that I entered the kitchen and look how everywhere look so messy.
“How do will start with this now?.” He asked standing beside me wrapping a towel around him.
“wow! he looks so sexy and hot.” I muttered looking at him in a lovely way.
“What are you starring at?.” He asked laughing.
I turned back to the dish telling him nothing.
“Why will you come here like this? I thought you said you wanted to go shower.” I asked not looking back.
His hands slowly wrapped around my waist.
“Can you sleep here tonight?. He asked as I declined immediately.
He pulled me towards him as I could feel his breathing.
“Come on stop it Gabriel.” I said as he lowered his face down to my mouth ready to kiss me.
“I love you Cynthia, you’re a rare type of girl have ever met in my life, the very first day I set my eyes in you I just couldn’t withstand your beauty and comport.
“Na wa so all those days he has really fall in love with me haha it’s plenty ooo.” I said in my mind happily.
I know I have loved him for a very long time and I think it shouldn’t make any difference if I give in.

I arrived home late when I had wished I could have stayed back with him at home but I still don’t want to go against his father rules. I entered and called my mother and no response, I search around the house and still didn’t see her.
“Mom!.” I called out looking scared.
I saw a door opened and ran there in speed and to my surprised Sees my mom tied around a chair with Anita mother tied also. I ran towards my mom and screamed asking who tied her.
I heard a clap behind me and turned.
“I have been expecting you since Cynthia.” Vero said as I staggered backwards in shocked.
“I couldn’t believe you could actually betrayed Vero Cynthia.” Sophia said looking at me like de vil.
“Please I beg you in the name of God Vero please don’t do anything to us!!.” I cried crawling towards her.
“Well, now that you’re here it will also be good if Anita come here on time before I waste all of you live at once!!! and the time Start now.” She shouted pulling her trigger at me.
I started crying and begging that it wasn’t my fault that I didn’t mean to harm her or do anything that I was just being friends with her for real.
“Keep quiet!!.” She shouted at me kicking my stomach.
“Please Vero have mercy please I didn’t offend you.” I said pleading.
“Ohh’you didn’t offend me right? and you went behind to date Gabriel or you think I will never found out about you two!!! once I finish with you I will then move to that crazy girl Florence and everyone in their family.
“I will eliminate all of you just as my father did to Anita father and many others.” She said in anger.
I was shocked of what she just said. So, Anita as been right all along about suspecting them of her father de ath, ohh! what a wicked world.
Gboaaaa!!!!!
I covered my ears hearing the bullet sound and turned back to where my mother and Anita stepmother and brother is and shouted seeing blood.
