EVIL INTENTIONS PT6
Ngozi melded her lips into his. She practically melted in his arms when one of his hands found her face and the other wrapped around her waist.
“This is your friends husband” something wispered in her head. She pushed that thought and every other feeling of guilt that arose. Amaka wasn’t the only one who had to enjoy love. She also had that right as well. She wasn’t a terrible person, but since life refused to give her her own man, why should she reject this one on her platter.
Things quickly started to become pretty heated. Ngozi’s hand flew to Hope’s shirt, she popped the buttons off hurriedly. They pulled away from each other to breathe. But then, right in the middle of it all Hope pulled away completely.
“What is this Ngozi? we can’t, we can’t do this, not to my wife” Hope mumbled moving away from Ngozi. He wiped his mouth with his hands and started buttoning up his shirt. What just came over him? He was a married man for goodness sake and even though his wife was a hand full, he loved her.
“No! no please Hope don’t say that to me” Ngozi cried. She tried to kiss him again but he pushed her away roughly and created a reasonable distance between them. With one arm stretched out to prevent Ngozi from coming closer, he firmly said;
“I don’t know what came over me today but this can never repeat itself again. I love my wife”
Ngozi’s chest hurt so much on hearing those words, Hot tears spilled from her eyes and ran down her face to the corners of her mouth. The salty taste of her tears reminded her that she wasn’t dreaming.
“I love you!” she sobbed “I love you! I didn’t plan on falling for you but it happened! Please! Don’t deny the connection we have! Stay with me please”
Hope looked at this woman he took as his friend and finally saw her for who she really was.
“There is and will never be a connection between us Ngozi! How can you tell me this? Amaka is your best friend! This is evil and I will not be a part of your twistedness”
“FORGET AMAKA! STOP BRINGING HER UP HOPE!” Ngozi screamed with her face turning bright red like a tomato. She’d had enough of Amaka. “You are doing this for someone who doesn’t respect you? Somebody that can challenge you? Do you want me to tell you how she talks about you? She’s disgusted with you! She hates you but I can give you love Hope. Give us a chance!”
Hope was horrified that he allowed someone like her to get close to him. Suddenly, the fights with his wife started to make sense. He was able to finally put two and two together and he realized that his issues with his wife began the very night he met up with her for business. He didn’t understand her reasons but he now knew that she was culprit.
No! he wouldn’t stay here and listen to this snake of a woman lie to him any longer. Without replying her declaration of love, he dashed out of the apartment.
Ngozi followed hot in his trail.
“Please please” she kept begging.
“Stay away from me. You are poison!” he shouted harshly, some neighbors came around to watch the drama starting to unfold before them.
Seeing that people were gatheing, Ngozi gave up. She watched through glazed eyes as Hope entered his car and quickly sped off without looking back. Her heart shattered.
She went back to her apartment and slammed the door. Her pain soon turned to hot lava like anger. Like a simmering volcano she mused on what Hope had told her.
Then, like all simmering volcanoes, she erupted. She pushed a vase of the table, then broke her lamp. Books, decorative pots and small artifacts came crashing down from the bookshelf she pushed. She tore her curtains and pulled her hair.
“AMAKA!!!!” she screamed “you will not have your happily ever after”
If Hope wasn’t going to be hers then Amaka wasn’t going to have him either.
