Charles and his twin sister episode 19

CHARLES AND HIS TWIN SISTER(19)

I want to let you know this her issue is getting out of hand. Why not try the woman’s soap to see if it’d work out? Back in those days, our forefathers normally use herbs to cure their illness, don’t forget that this is an issue of life and dêath…

You sure say you dey okay? Uche I no understand you again. You didn’t hear what pastor Richard said abi!!! I can’t believe you’re telling me this… Benita exclaimed.

Calm down. Calm down, please. We are not quarreling. Did the pastor mention something that we have not done? Was it about using anointing oil? Or fasting? Abi na praying? Which one was it?. Waeti pastor tell us wey we never do? So I should allow her to die abi!!

Please save my sister…. Charles criêd out as he rushed over to hug Uche from behind during their discussion.

I brought them here initially, so it’s my duty to look after them. I’m not suggesting that we should neglect our prayers for her. Let’s simply consider trying this woman’s soap to see if it might be helpful. There’s no harm in that. You’re merely passing judgment on something you haven’t used, which is not a good approach. Remember, don’t judge a book by its cover. Rachel is an innocent girl, and I could vividly remember how she was when I first met her. We shouldn’t instantly discriminate herbal remedies and traditional cures.

Mrs Benita, unbelievably rotated her head sideways and stormed off the hospital.

The next day, Joyce successfully located the hospital to visit Rachel. Charles, known for being talkative, had already revealed the plan for the woman providing spiritual soap to help Rachel. Without wasting any time, Joyce contacted Uche, and together they went to meet the akara woman. Benita stayed back at home while Charles was allowed to stay with his sister to the hospital alongside with their own separate foodflask that Benita had provided for them in case they get hungry. Benita had already zeroed her mind that anything pertaining to the woman, her husband should keep her out of it which almost led to a serious quarrel between them (Uche and Benita) the previous night.

The akara woman was no where to be found and from what they observed, she didn’t come out to sell akara that very day. So they both made some enquiries and they were directed to her house.

She was grounding some dey pepper 🌶️ on her grinding stone by the left side of her house.

They came across an orange tree adorned with ripe, unplucked oranges. Some had even fallen to the ground and were now spoiled. It appeared as though no one had taken the initiative to harvest the oranges. Approximately 70% of the oranges on the tree had ripened.

Yes how may I help you?… Madam questioned them, abandoned the pepper and turned towards them.

I know you might not remember me. But my wife and I came the other day to…..

Shhhhhh.. I already know.. she said, crossing her left thumb on her lips, without allowing Uche to complete his words.

Madam good afternoon. It’s the soap please my girl is dyîng. You’re our only hope. Please how much is it ? Joyce said frustratedly, dipping her hands on her handbag to bring out some cash.

I don’t give out the soap like that. No matter the amount of money. There’s no where you will go to that you’ll get the soap. It’s because of the condition that I saw the innocent girl that made me insisted on helping her.

Ma, we understand. Please just help us. As it stands you are our only hope… Uche told her worriedly.

You people should follow me… Madam instructed and they both followed her inside one of her room. The space was filled with an array of herbal and traditional items. Red decorations adorned the room from ceiling to floor, while the shelves displayed the unsettling sight of rotten hen heads and goat skulls. While some places were designed with a bamboo stick.

She told them to sit on the floor with their empty legs and they shockingly did as instructed. Madam took one of the red wrappers and tied it on her waist.

Where is your car key?.. madam inquired extending her left hand to Uche.

It’s here ma…. Uche responded, dropping the key on her palm.

“And you?..
I’m, I’m only with my house key ma… Joyce quickly answered shivering from the horrifying things she was witnessing.

“Bring it..” she instructed and Joyce quickly dropped it on her palm.

She lit the two red candles in front of her, brought a calabash that was half filled with some water and dropped the keys inside. She inserted one of the skulls inside the calabash and began incarnating in some strange tongues.

I’m coming… Just wait here… Madam said, cleared her throat, stood up and left them in the room.
