“Okay, I’m ready!” Annabel exclaimed, dragging her suitcase out of her bedroom and into the sitting room.

Her parents, who had been waiting anxiously, stood up to bid her farewell. “We’re so proud of you, Annabel,” her mom said, tears welling up in her eyes. “You’ve been through so much, and you’ve come out stronger on the other side.”

Annabel’s dad nodded in agreement. “We’ll miss you, but we know you need to get back to school. Make us proud, kiddo.”

Annabel hugged her parents tightly, feeling a mix of emotions. She was excited to get back to school and see her friends, but she was also going to miss her parents dearly.

Kamzy, who had been waiting patiently outside, honked the car horn to signal that it was time to go. Annabel grabbed her suitcase and gave her parents one last hug before heading out the door.

As they drove away from the house, Annabel felt a sense of excitement and nervousness.

Anna’s eyes widened in shock, her mind racing with thoughts. “But Kamzy, we’ve only been dating for a few months,” she stammered.

Kamzy nodded, his hands cradling her face. “I know, but it’s enough time to know that we’re meant to be. Anna, I’ve fallen so deeply in love with you. I want to wake up every morning with you by my side, to watch the sun rise on your face, to make you happy for the rest of our lives. I want you, and only you, Anna. Will you be my wife?”

Anna’s heart skipped a beat as she processed his words. Before she could respond, her family shouted in unison, “Say yes!” They had been eavesdropping from the doorway, their faces beaming with excitement.

Kamzy smiled, his eyes never leaving Anna’s face, waiting for her reply. Anna’s face bent, and Kamzy gently lifted her chin, his fingers tracing her jawline. She looked up at him, her eyes shining with tears, and nodded. “Yes,” she whispered.

They erupted in cheers and applause as Kamzy swept Anna off her feet, twirling her around in a circle. “Anna, I love you so much,” he whispered, his lips brushing against her ear.

“I love you too, Kamzy,” she replied, her voice barely audible.

As they hugged, Kamzy’s lips found hers again, and they shared a tender, loving kiss, sealing their promise to each other.
