Mama’s POV π
“What’s taking the doctor so long to bring out the results?”I asked Arnold..I’m starting to get nervous about the whole situation..we should ve been home by now..I’m sick and tired of this damn hospital..I want to go back home..rejoice and celebrate..
Just while I and Arnold were busy talking..the doctor interrupted us .
“So doctor..tell me.. are the results out yet..?”I asked..
“Not yet..it’s delayed for now but soon you’ll find out..”The doctor says..
“Why delayed?”I asked.
“Mom..you need to calm down..the doctor said it’s delayed..so there’s no need to worry too much..”Arnold says..but I don’t get why the test is taking so long..
“Hmm..alright..can we go now?”I asked the doctor..
“Yeah..I’ll just be needing your address number..don’t worry I’ll personally bring the address to you..”The doctor says..
“I’ll go get Olamma ready..excuse me..”Arnold says.
Immediately Arnold left I grabbed the doc by his hands tightly..
“What is going on here you moron.. why are the results being delayed..?”I asked..angrily..
“Because you want it to be a lie..it’s not easy to do that..so you better have patient with me..”The doctor says.
“Are you commanding me..look..I paid you for this job and if you dare betray me..I’ll make sure you pay for this you fool..”
“Is that a threat..?”the doctor asked..this man doesn’t know who is messing with..
“No..it’s a warning..be quick with the job or you’ll loose your license as a doctor..”I say before excusing my self from him..I just hope all goes well because if he dares try anything stupid..I’ll make him pay for his actions..
Abigail’s POV πΊ
“You came..what are you doing here?”Arnold asked surprised to see me at the hospital..
“To congratulate you of course..you know I’m not like that..no matter our differences..I’ll always be here for you..”I say smiling..
“Thanks for understanding..my love..”Arnold says.
“Have the doctor’s brought in the results yet?”I asked..
“No.. not at all..I don’t know why they’re taking so long..”Arnold tells me..
“That’s weird..where’s Olamma..?”I asked..
“She’s in her room..I can take you there if you want..”Arnold says.
“No..just describe it my love..”I say wrapping my hands round his neck..
“Why are you acting so happy..it’s like you love the idea that Olamma is having a baby for me..don’t you think that will change our marriage?”Arnold asked as I used the small razor blades in my hands to cut a bit of his hairs..mission accomplished..I released my self from him dipping my hands back into my pockets making sure I do not look suspicious to him..
“What do you expect me to do Arnold..I can’t give you a child and I won’t stop you from having one with another woman..enough about that.. where’s olamma’s room please?”I asked…

I knocked at the room of Olamma as I entered..I saw Olamma packing her things..she notices my presence but doesn’t say a word..I know we might not be good friends after all..we hated eachother but I just want to see her baby..that’s all..
“congratulations..”I greeted.
“You don’t have to pretend when around me..I know you hate my baby..so please keep your fake smile to yourself..”Olamma attacks..as I heard the cry of the baby..Just then two nurses walked in..one carrying the baby..the other one talking to Olamma…I take the baby from the first nurse hands as I smiled at the Little cutie in my arms..how I wished I had a child like this..God when are you going to bless me..why do I have to suffer so much..why do I have to pass through all these hatred..this isn’t the time to be weak..I can do this..I know I can..I slightly cut the a bit of hair from the baby without no one realizing and it’s done..the truth is finally coming to light..and there’s no going back..
“give me my baby..before you rub him with your evil hands..”Olamma carried her baby from my hands the minute the nurses exited..
“You think I’ll be that cruel to a little baby.. come on..it’s just a child..I’ll never harm anyone’s child..”I say.
“Well I do not believe you..you ve always hated me..why the sudden change..?”
“Let me make this clear to you..my hatred for you has nothing to do with your child..and yes..you destroyed my happiness..my home..there were plenty men out there..why couldn’t you just pick one of them..why did it have to be my own husband..??why..???”I asked and Olamma is silenced..
“Answer me..tell me why my husband..? why him..it could have been anyone..why did you do it..why did you let money get the best of you..?”I asked
“I don’t know what you’re talking about..”Olamma tries to deny
“You know perfectly well what I mean Olamma..you know and soon you going to find out because as long as I live..I won’t let anyone destroy my home..get ready because the battle has just begun..”I warned exiting from the room immediately before Mama sees me..I don’t want to see anyone right now..all I want to give this to the doctors and see what happens..I saw Arnold talking to the doctor who’s in charge of running the tests for the baby..I don’t know how I’ll do it but I need to stay in the hospital much longer..i need to find out if this doctor was paid to make a fake result..I know my mother in law can go to any extent just to make my life a miserable hell.. thankfully Emeka wakened me up from my weakness..I must find out.
As soon as Arnold finished talking to the doctor..I told Arnold I wanted to see the doctor because one of my friend’s really sick and needs home service..Arnold wanted to wait for me but I insisted he leaves..
I waited for them all to leave the hospital before storming into the doctor’s office.
“May I ask who you are and why you barged into my office like that..?”The doctor asked..
“There’s no need for you to know who I am..i just want the truth from you..and nothing but the truth..”
“What are you talking about..?”
Just then Emeka walked in..yes..I called Emeka earlier to ransack the doctor’s office while he was busy talking to my husband and I..and he found the cheque..the cheque my dear mother in law gave to the doctor..
“This..”Emeka says placing the cheque on the table..
“How..come..did..how dare you guys..how..??”The doctor asked looking very confused.
“You better lower your voice and answer me..did Arnold’s mother give you this cheque.. yes or no?”I questioned……….

Naomi’s POV
“Why don’t we have a double date..all of us..”I asked my girls..angel and jessie..
“It would have been more better if Abby was here..I haven’t heard anything from her since the time she told us she needs some space..”
“I think we should pay her a surprise visit..what do you think guys?”Jessie asked..
“Yeah..you’re right..it’s been so long..it’s been so long..we ve spent time together..”I say.
“Poor Abby..I just hope life gives her a second chance..my baby must be suffering from all these marriage crisis..”Angel says..
“I think we should go see her..all of us..we won’t let her words get to us..I know she wants some space but we can still see her..we need to support her..”I say..standing up from the couch with my girls.. Anna’s spending time with her father so I have the chance to go say hello to my best friend.. Abigail..
Abigail’s POV ππ
“You cooked all these..in just a short time.. wow”Arnold praises the dishes in front of him as Olamma just sits on one of the chair in the dining room..Mama looked very angry like she’s about to explode..the real explosion is coming when she’ll see the little surprise I have for her..I can’t wait to see their faces when they discovered they lost the battle..
“What’s the occasion..?what’s the meaning of these?”Mama asked bitterly..
“Isn’t the baby..I mean your grandchild worth a grand ceremony..?”
“you really do not have to throw a party for a little baby..”Mama says.
“Why does it bother you so much..mother in law..?after all you ve always wanted this baby to be born..why are you acting like you’re afraid of something..”I asked..
“Okay.. enough with all the mysteries..can we eat in peace already..”Arnold asked taking his sit on the chair..
“I’m not hungry..and I don’t trust this food one bit..only God knows if your dear wife wants to poison all of us..”Mama says as I laughed..
“I think you’re taking this way too far mother..”Olamma interrupts .
“I’m not..I know what I’m saying..I don’t understand..why you will be happy for your rival..that isn’t possible..”Mama says.
“Oh come on..mom..stop all these..that’s enough.. already..”Arnold says.
“My love..don’t worry..your mother has the right to think whatever she wants..of me..by now I’m already used to her silly tantrums so I don’t care…let’s enjoy..”I say having my sit as the door bell rings..
“Are you expecting someone?”Arnold asked..
“Yes..excuse me..”I say standing up from my sit..as I walked straight to the door..I was so surprised when I saw Naomi..angel..and Jessie..my girls..my besties are here..
“You guys…??”I questioned..I’m surprised..each of them were holding a shopping bag..I welcomed them in as we all hugged eachother .
“Please come in..”I say creating space for them to enter.
“Hmm..what’s that scent?”Angie asked..
“It’s as if she knows we’re coming..are you guys celebrating something in here..?”Jessie asked..
“Guys..this way..”I say directing them to the dining area..The fear on Mama’s face melted away the minute she sighted my friends .
“Oh.. angel..naomi..Jessie..welcome..”Arnold greeted standing up as he shakes each of them hands.
“Thank you..”Jessie says.
“You guys please..make yourself at home..”I tell them..as they all have their sits.
“So this is the reason for the feast..?”Mama asked..
I just ignored her concentrating on my girls..
“Girls..what would you like to drink..”I questioned when I heard another knock on the door..
“Looks like we have another..guest..are you going to turn our house into a club house now ?”Mama asked..but I just turned deaf ears as I went to the door..it’s the doctor..which name is Mr Dare..
“May I come in?”He asked.
“Sure..please..it’s so good to see you..”I say leading the doctor to the dining area.
“Doctor..you’re here!”Arnold says standing up from his sit.
“Finally..the tests results are out..”mama says.
“Doctor..what those the DNA test say?”Olamma asked..
“Uhmm..well”Before Dare finished his statement.. another knock on the door.
“Who the hell is that one again..?”Mama yelled angrily.
“It’s my special visitor..”I say as my girls were just staring at me like they re enjoying the drama going on..
“The door is open..you can come in..”I say as Emeka walked in..straight to the dining area..Olamma who was staring at the baby before raises her head up to see who’s in front of her..she was shocked and nervous and couldn’t control her self from shouting..
“Emeka!!!what are you doing here?”Olamma says raising her voice..
“I should be the one asking you what you’re doing here Olamma..”Emeka replied.
“Wait..how..wait..what’s going on here..I don’t understand..please can someone tell me what’s going on..?”Arnold asked..
“Yes..I would like to know what’s going on here too..”Mama says feeling very confident of herself.
“Mr Dare..please the result..”I say as Mr Dare hands it over to Arnold…
“This is it..”he gives Arnold.
“Why so much tension..you guys are all acting really weird around here?”Arnold says
“Come on..just open it.. the baby is yours.. you’re the father..”Mama says.
“Yes.. you’re the baby’s father and no one else”Olamma adds..
“Let’s see what the results says..”I say glaring at both Mama and Olamma..
Arnold’s POV
“Let’s see what the results says..”Abigail say..I have this strange feelings that Abby knows something but she’s hiding it.. anyways if the child is mine..I won’t give up my marriage for a baby..
I opened the envelope slowly as I checked it..I checked all the tests down to the end where I saw a big letter N..I don’t even know what that means..
“Doc.. what does this n stands for..?”I asked..
“Negative Mr Arnold..it means the baby isn’t yours..”The doctor answered as everyone in the room gasped.
“No..no..that cannot be true..you must be mistaken..the baby is for Arnold..”Olamma insists..
“That’s enough..lying..aren’t you tired of telling lies..just say the truth for once in your damn miserable life you bitch..”Abigail yelled at her..
“I don’t think you know your job..doctor..that baby must be my grandchild..”Mama shouted.
“Liar…!!”abigail yelled at my mom..
“Alright.. that’s enough..everybody calm down.. already..doctor..please you re the only one who knows the truth here..please is this result real..?”I asked.
“It would have been fake if I accepted your mom’s bribery..”The doctor says and I’m dumbfounded.
“Here..”Dare shows everyone the cheque and the signature of mama.
“No..mom..mom..no..this cannot be true..you cannot do this..no..mom..tell me all these is a lie..please tell me..I need you to say something damnit..talk to me..”I yelled at my mother..
“It’s..it’s the truth..I’m sorry..I’m sorry but I did for your own good..it’s for your own good..I swear..my son..please I beg you.. forgive me.. please..”Mama cried out loud.
“You’re despicable..how could you do this..?”
“I’m sorry..”
“And that’s not all..here is the real father of the baby..”Abigail says pointing at Emeka..
“I..I..swear it wasn’t my fault..your mother promised to give me half of her properties if I..I..I..pinned the pregnancy on you..”Olamma says stammering..I almost slapped the hell out of her face but Abby stopped me.
“No..no.. my love..calm down..it’s not worth..it..my love.. please..please calm down..”Abigail says tears rolling down her cheeks..
“You were my mother..you..you gave birth to me..how could be so evil..how could you..do this to your fellow woman..you’re evil..and I want you out of my life..I don’t want to ever see your face..I despise you..you hated my wife because of she wasn’t able to bear children..you manipulated each and everyone just so you could paint her black..you’re the most disgusting woman have ever come across..”I say angrily..
“That’s enough my love..please.. you’re hurting yourself..”Abby says..holding my hands.
“Please..please forgive me..please I beg of you.. please..!!”Mama pleaded…
But I didn’t answer I just exit from the house..I can’t stay here any longer or I’ll just die..I don’t know what to do..where to start from..and now I’m even doubting if Mama is really my mother….
The truth is out…
