“Please… Please just let me be..” I smirked, pushed her out and locked the door.
When she had left, I sneaked out and went to church.
When service was about to elapse, pastor informed mum and dad that he needs to see us in his office..
Mum informed Esther and I and we all assembled in his office.
Pastor was telling mum that he could sรชnse something terrible within us.
“”Pastor what could that be?” Mum questioned him, looking so perplexed.
“Have any of you had anything unusual? Maybe something strange?” Pastor questioned, holding his Bible and staring at us.
“Shedrack and Co… Hope you are hearing.” Mum protested, folding both hands and staring at us.
“Mum it’s was..”
I abruptly held Esther’s hand and pressed it against the seat, hitting her leg and signaling her to keep quiet.
“Esther go on..” Dad and pastor echoed.
“Ummm nothing.. I was thinking that..”
“Esther speak up.. What is it! You can’t talk?” Mum questioned eagerly.
“Emmm. Mum there was one night that I heard some dogs barking outside. I don’t know if that’s strange..” I quickly interrupted.
“See that one talking about dogs. Mtcheeeeewww…. If you know you don’t have anything to say, better keep quiet!” Mum squeaked at me.
“It’s okay. It’s okay.” Pastor uttered.
Esther and I were just using style to gaze at each other
“Please you all need to be very prayerful most especially the two of you.. And endeavour to fast.. Also try and be coming to service regularly..” pastor muttered, pointing at me and Esther.
“Pastor you know I do try to meet up with service regardless of my busy schedule.” Mum told him.
“I know.. Please just be prayerful okay and also make sure that your hands are clean. Jesus is willing to accept you back. If you have anything wrรตng you’ve done kindly inform me I’ll pray with you okay.” Pastor uttered.
At that moment, my heart became heavy.
“Pastor we’ve heard you. ” Mum uttered.
Esther and co.. Hope you people are hearing.” Mum smirked, stamping her left leg and staring at us.
“Pastor thank you so much..” Dad appreciated him.
He prayed with us for some minutes before we departed.
We got home and my sister began questioning me.
“Shedrack… I don’t understand you. I’m trying to help you and you’re trying to play smart?”
“I told you I’ll handle this by myself didn’t I.”
“I don’t know why ladies like you loves aproko. You people will just be running mouths like parrots.”
“Shedrack…. Shedrack… Had it been I didn’t save you that night, you think you would still be alive.. Sha I’ve played my role as a sister. Don’t say I didn’t warn you.” she said and left.
Mum called us privately to her room and questioned us if we had had anything usual and we told her we hadn’t. She then told us to leave.
When it was almost 11 p.m., I was bored of watching movies and decided to unwind a little. Unfortunately, I drifted off.
When I woke up, I saw myself in the same spot.
The woman emerged from the shadows. Her left hand held a long staff looking in form of a snake with bird feathers tied to it. A red wrapper was tied around her waist, covering it all the way down to her laps. The chalks were still in place. Her b*****s were totally exposed.
The place was totally empty and dark with no single soul. She was laughing and talking to herself.
She stood few distance away from me.
“What is it again!” I shouted frightfully.
She turned to me with her horrible face.
“Hahahahahahahaha you think you can run away from me?”
Her words kept echoing all over the place.
“But… But… But.. But I’ve done everything you asked..” I stuttered, retreating from her.
My legs started to tremble.
I abruptly made a U-turn and fled.
While I was running, a strange wind blew and I saw her right in my front.
“Have you forgotten our agreement.. I can kรฎll you within seconds if you meddle with me..”. She shouted, coming close.
“I need your sister..” she uttered, marginalizing a tiny calabash directly in front of her.
