I thought of what to say and adjusted myself not looking at Gabriel at all.
“I want to defecate.” I said and walked away immediately.
I crossed to the other side of their house and went inside a Sweet Sensation Restaurant I sat there and try to get my thinking straight to understand what is actually going on. I know at this point I shouldn’t do anything that would break my promise to Anita. If Vero should know my relationship with Gabriel and Florence she might really not want to associate with me like that again.
“But, wait ooo how is Vero and Florence familiar with each other, I thought she said Gabriel father only told her about the girl, so how come Vero looks friendly with her? Or is there something Florence is omitting for me? Arrghh!!!! this is getting me cr@zy seriously.
I called Anita and told her what just happened that I couldn’t believe my eyes right now, She said I shouldn’t panic that I can actually let it known to her that I know Gabriel and others that it only turns out coincidence.
“She might even get closer to you because of that so that you can help her in talking to Gabriel maybe he can ask her out, I know she will eventually come out straight to you that she lied that he is her boyfriend.
“Omo, this Anita you too get Sense aswear (You’re sensible Anita) This is actually a great idea and it can also go along with what my friend is asking me to do for her. Anyways no problem, I will go back there now let me just calm my nerves down because I got stuck between them that I almost lost my sensibility.
I ended the call and look around seeing different people with a joyful attribute as they celebrate Xmas. I got a glimpse of some couple at some angle as her boyfriend feed her in some romantic way.
“Chai! God when.” I muttered, smiling childishly as if I’m the lady in position.

“Hello Vero.”
“Cynthia, were are you?.” She asked as I stood up immediately.
“I am coming already, where are you?.” I asked.
“I’m inside.” She said.
Alright I’m coming.” I said ending the call.
My phone rang again.
“Who is this again too ha!.” I picked and it was Florence.
“Hey babe how are you doing today?.” She asked.
“I dey ooo infact it’s good you called me.”
“What happened?.” She asked.
“I wanted to see you.” I answered.
“Same here also, infact I wish you are here sef.” She said.
“Just come outside of Gabriel house.”
“Why? are you here? I trust you! I’m coming babe.” She said and ended the call excitedly.
I crossed back to Gabriel house and waited outside the gate for her. She came outside and hugged me immediately she saw me and started talking without letting me say anything.
“I know you truly love Gabriel and that’s why you are here, let go inside Abeg because that cr@zy girl is around trying to be nice with everybody.” She said as I interrupted her.
“But, I saw her hugging you.” I said as she paused.
“You saw her with me? when?.” She asked.
“When I came in with her.” I answered.
“Wait ooo are you the girl she was telling us that she is looking around for?.” She asked looking so flabbergasted.
“Yes, I’m the one and that’s why I wanted to see you likewise because I was also shocked and surprised as you.” I said as she drag me Beside the building.
“How you take know her Cynthia?.” She asked.
“Did you remember the girl I told you about that her friend kidnapped and…”
She exclaimed as she covered my mouth.
“Don’t tell me that it’s this Vero oooo.” She asked looking around.
“She’s the one and I was so shocked also.”
Ha! ha! ha!!! Cynthia you have to be very careful ooo.” She said.
“Why?.” I asked.
She whispered something to my ear.
“Jesus! you mean am Florence?.” I asked.
“Of course! that girl ehn, that’s why I don’t even like her.
“But how did you know her? didn’t you said Gabriel father only told you about her.” I asked as she smiles.
“Cynthia, you no we be paddy and I don’t think there’s any necessary means of hidden things from you.” She said.
“Of course! why you go hide something from me when we call ourselves friends.
“Gabriel ehn, he is my cousin I told you doing our school days that he has some phobia that most of us doesn’t get to relate with him very well because of his distance from us.” She said as I looked at her in astonishment.
“Are you for real Florence! like the William you were talking about then is Gabriel?.” I asked.
“Yes Cynthia, actually I didn’t want to tell this now until maybe when you get to make him changed a little bit.” She said as I moved away from her.
“Are you kidding me right now Florence? like you’re related with Gabriel! ohh no wonder! you’re always skeptical about him and your interaction with him are always different, but I was too blind to realize it omo, you surprised me ooo Florence why you go do like that na?.” I said as she pulls me towards her to plead.
“I’m sorry Cynthia, I’m really sorry, it’s not like I really wanted it to be like this. I’m truly sorry π
“So you want me to marry your cousin abi?.” I asked jokingly.
“Yes ooo and I will be so glad.” She answered excitedly.
“Ehn, no problem. I have heard you and we will sure going to do it on a smooth way without interrupting my on game with Vero.

We walked in separately as I looked around for Vero. I saw a hand up waving at me for awareness and walked to her sit. I wore glasses in other not to be recognized by my previous colleagues at work.
“Where have you been?” She asked as I sat beside her.
“I actually went to see a friend across the road just when I left the rest room.” I answered smiling.
“Okay, well let me introduce you to my friends here.” She said pointing to four of them sitting around the circle.
“Her name is Sophia, we attended same school (university) and this is judge one of my craziest guy friend, I love him so much because he jokes a lot.” She said smiling as the the guy raised his hand in a funny way.
“Is this her father party that she brought all her friends to na wa oo.” I said in my mind as I nod and was shaking and hugging some as she introduced.
“Here is Cyph he is Gabriel class mate because we all attended same school…”
“Ohh’ really? nice meeting you.” I said shaking his hand.
“You look so pretty.” He said smiling at me.
“And the last person here is my stupid girlfriend (They both laughed) if you could remember the day we met at the club.
I thought for a moment and remember the lady face.
“You’re right, I saw her that day while dancing. I think she was the one you were bidding goodnight that day.” I said.
“Infact take(we both tapped hands together) you truly remember her so, her name is Dorathy.” She said.
“Nice seeing you again.” I said while hugging her.
“I hope she’s welcome to our midst!.” She said excitedly as they all responded positively approving my welcoming.
“She really looked so pretty and na pretty girl dey rock pass.” Judge said as they all laughed.
“Una nor know anything!.” I said in my mind while feeling among with them.
Vero stood up and told them she is coming as she held my hands to follow her.
“Where are we going?.” I asked.
“To introduce you to my boyfriend you saw earlier.
“Ohh’ Gabriel?.” I asked.
“How did you know his name?.” She asked surprisingly.
“Well, I hear you called him earlier.” I said lying.
“Seriously, I never knew I did.” She answered looking around for him. Oh! that is him.” She said as we walked down towards them.
I just hope I haven’t fucked up myself like this because there’s no how she wouldn’t know I had known Gabriel and his father already. I saw Florence sitting opposite Gabriel and winked at her. She smiled looking away, Vero hugged Gabriel’s parents as she greet while I stood behind pretending not to know anything. I was surprised his father saw me and didn’t say anything but immediately Gabriel turned back and saw me behind him he stood up immediately while Vero held his hand.
“Cynthia, here’s my boyfriend I told you about.” She said smiling all over as I gulped.
Gabriel fling her hands from him and yelled at her to stop the nonsense she is doing and walked out from them.
“Chai! see embarrassment!.” i muttered looking at Florence who pretended not to see what is going on.
“What is wrong with this boy?.” Gabriel father said in annoyance.
“Sorry my dear.” His mother said patting Vero back telling her she would talk to him.
Vero smiled at them in which I looked at her.
“Why is Gabriel doing this? when he knows how true you love him na wa o.” Florence said.
“it’s okay Florence I understand him.” She said to her and walked away while I followed.
She looked so angry and embarrassed as she walked clumsy at my front.
“He might probably be going through some things Vero so, you shouldn’t feel sober about it.” I said as she turns back at me.
“Can you believe what he just did there Cynthia? he embarrassed me not only in the presence of his parents and others there but most especially you that I felt like introducing to him.” She said looking teary up.
“Is like she want to cry ooo.” I said excitedly within me. Babe, do you now want to cry because of one nonentity? Abeg ignore am jor is he the only guy in this century.” I said trying to put her in good mood.
“This is not the first time he will be doing this to me Cynthia.” She said cleaning her tears. It’s okay, it’s fine, I probably understand him and I’m sure he is going to come around soon.
“That’s spirit, just believe he is going to come around soon.” I said as we go back to meet the rest.
“Cynthia, you actually came, wow it’s been a while.” One of my previous colleagues said.
“Oh! my God! why will this guy see me now.” I muttered and wished Miracle could happen and he will just leave me alone.
Someone dragged him away immediately as I looked back and saw Florence back view.
“Thank God.” I said exhaling.
“Do you know him? because they guy just asked you something.” Cyph asked.
“I don’t ooo.” I answered.
“I think I need to go.” Vero said carrying her bag.
“Why na? your dad has not even arrived.” Dorathy said.
“I don’t think is necessary I wait for him, I have something to do at home.” She said.
“I don’t believe that vero, I believe something as happened that you didn’t tell us “. Judge said standing to go also.
“I will see you guys later, Cynthia will you follow me?.” She asked.
“Of course I will.” I answered following her. See you next time guys.” I said waving to others.

We left Gabriel house and headed to her house. on getting there I was marvel with the way it looks so beautiful in structure.
“Watin con be this girl problem? why is she now being wicked when everything is in her comfort zone.” I looked around wondering.
“Welcome to my home!.” She said as we entered while she gave her bag to a maid who took it inside after welcoming her.
“Omo this girl na princess oooo chai!.” I looked around in astonished.
“Merry Xmas Vero.” Another maid said while smiling.
“Thanks Monica.” She answered. Cynthia come on let go to my room.
I stood up immediately like a village girl due to different designs and how the house looked so nice and beautiful compared to my imagination on how I had thought her house would look like.
“You came back early.” A young man said walking out from the downstairs in the sitting room.
She turns back at him smiling.
“Yeah, I just felt bored and decided to leave.” She answered as he looked at me.
“Good afternoon.” I said immediately.
He answered, Vero told him I am her friend as he nodded his head.
“That’s my senior bro, it’s just Him and I.” She said smiling as we walked to her room.
“I see”. I said.
Her room looks like a musician room with different wall designs of Justine Bieber and Wizkid and a piano.
“it seems you likes singing?.” I asked as she blushed facing me.
“As you can see, I love composing song during my leisure time. I love music a lot.” she said sitting on her bed.
“I have a friend that do come over to compose with me but she’s late now.” She said.
“Ehya! What happened to her?.” I asked.
“She got kidnapped and was eliminated, I really missed her so much. Anita is such a cool girl but she fucked up.” She said bringing out phot album.
“Why did she f**k up? did she offended you?.” I asked.
“Don’t worry that’s story for another day.”She answered.
I collected the photo album and started going through the photos there, I saw Anita and her at different photos.
“You and the Anita were so closed truly.” I said.
“Of course we were” she said looking at it also.
AT NIGHT
I got home in the evening so tired and couldn’t shower also when I lay on the bed straight up. Several message came up immediately I on my data. I checked some and replied them. What caught my attention is what Florence sent me that Gabriel father had concluded on the option she talked about that I should come and live with Gabriel.
I laughed hysterical thinking Florence might not be serious about it.
“How will she believed Gabriel would want me to live with him because of their planning. Someone that couldn’t withstand me at the office, is he now going to accept me living with him. Abeg this option is not advisable abeg.
“make I go shower first.” I stood up still laughing and undress to go shower.
