MY SPIRITUAL WIFE
EPISODE 20
.
I reluctantly picked up the call as it was just about to end.
“Hello” I called out.
“Hi Paul. Am I interrupting another s*x session?”
“Please who is this?” I manage to mutter.
“It’s Jasmine, Paul. Good morning” Jasmine said, with a voice that suggested she’d uttered those words, amidst a smile.
.
The confusion in my demeanor from having being asked the same question twice this morning, began to fade.
I became more relaxed as our conversation progressed.
.
Jasmine asked to know how I was doing. She particular called to know what I had planned for that day.
“It’s going to be a very hectic day”. I said.
.
I told Jasmine that I had lectures lined up.
It was my busiest day of the week.
To my utmost surprise, Jasmine exclaimed, “perfect!” I was still wondering what was so perfect about what I’d just said when she proceeded to shed more light to it.
.
“You’ll be very tired by the time you get back from school and will most certainly be needing some tending.”
“Tending?” I asked, confused. Unsure what exactly Jasmine had meant by that word.
“Yes! But don’t worry.” Jasmine dismissed. “I’ll love to take you out tonight, Paul.”
.
Everything about this conversation was surprising to me. I didn’t; wasn’t expecting any of it.
Firstly, I was surprised that Jasmine even called, despite what she’d witnessed the day before. Secondly, nothing about our conversation had been awkward, considering the circumstances and thirdly, Jasmine just had to be crazy to have thought that, a night after a long day in school was a perfect night for “an outing”.
.
I took a moment to process what Jasmine had said. I thought of an appropriate response. I opened my mouth to speak but just before I could, Jasmine asked…
“Or will you rather be somewhere or with someone else?”
.
I told Jasmine that I was only trying to think; to be sure that I’ll be free tonight.
“I am just trying to be sure I don’t already have something planned…” I said.
“…trust me, Paul. Even if you already have something planned, coming out with me tonight will be worth every canceled appointment”. Jasmine said, with total convictions littered in every word.
.
Jasmine and I spoke for a while longer, before I had to let her go.
“I need to prepare for school now”. I said.
.
Lecture was everything I’d already envisaged it’ll be that day. It was hectic. Most of which were very boring.
.
I finally stepped out of the classroom around 6:17 PM, exhausted.
.
Janet was at the exit of the hallway, waiting for me. She was looking ravishing as always.
.
Janet ran into my arms the moment I emerged from the door. (Which again, made me the envy of everyone in sight).
.
This was the first time most of my course mates would be seeing Janet.
Since Janet always caused a stare (because of her ravishing body), imagine the surprise on everyone’s face when they got to know that this very hot, hot, smoking hot “goddess”, had been waiting for this “not so special” JJC after all.
.
The fact that Paul was not just speaking to a fine girl, but also even holding her by her waist surely caused wagging tongues.
I loved every bit of it.
.
Janet told me how much she’d missed me as we walked towards her lodge (not far from the school). She wasn’t just saying it. Every indication pointed towards it being true.
I still couldn’t believe that such a girl could feel so strongly about me; ordinary me fa.
.
I was soon seating in front of a homemade meal (semo and egusi soup). Its aroma was out of this world and it tasted equally amazing.
Janet is also an amazing cook.
.
After dinner, Janet and I held a conversation for a bit, before I told her that I’ll like to be on my way home.
Janet walked me to where I got on a bike before she kissed goodnight.
.
Seconds after I got home, my phone rang.
It was Jasmine.
I looked at my watch and it read 9:12 PM.
.
“Hi Paul, how was your day?” Jasmine asked, excitedly.
“Stressful like I already knew it’d be.” I replied, tiredly. “And how was yours?”
“It was good, my darling but the best part is still yet to come and the day is still young”.
.
I looked at my watch again to be sure that I’d read it correctly the first time. I even took a peek through my window to be sure that it was actually “PM” and not “AM”.
But of course I was right. It was indeed 9:12 PM.
.
“I am just about hitting the shower now, Paul. What do you say you meet me at Bloops, in an hour?” Jasmine said, in a manner that didn’t really depict a question that gave me a choice for an answer.
.
“Bloops” was the hottest thing in town. It was a spot that had a mix of everything for your relaxation and viewing pleasure. Once you are in, you are assured to remain inside until you’ve wrecked your bank account.
.
Bloops hosted at least, one live band featuring a favorite artists, “every night”.
.
Upcoming; not coming; already arrived artists, performed on Bloop’s stage, every night.
.
Bloops also have a strip club.
Lap dance was just two thousand, five hundred naira and you are sometimes even allowed to touch oranges sef.
Ha!
.
“I’ll be there in forty five minutes. Please don’t keep me waiting”. I found myself saying without necessarily thinking about it, before I hung up and begun to freshen up.
To be continued…
