FINAL PART
Bola was Sylvia’s regular customer and young friend. She knew a little about Dave’s escapades with women and how he treats his wife to an extent but never knew how bad ๐. So when she met Sylvia on her way to get a phone,she asked her where she was going and why her countenance was grave? Sylvia then told her everything what had happened and what Dave did that day. Bola was so furious and wished she could see him and give him a piece of her mind. She encouraged Sylvia to visit the Human Rights Commission and report to FIDA (International Federation of Women Lawyers).
At first light, Sylvia dressed up and went to the State chapter of the FIDA to make a report. The lady who attended to her was left speechless after she stated her purpose of coming. She couldn’t believe that a human could treat another human like that, especially your own wife? The lady asked for her husband’s address and phone number and told Sylvia not to worry,as they will do everything in their power to ensure that Justice is served. Then she was allowed to see the State Director,she asked Sylvia if she wanted to continue the marriage or end it through a divorce? Sylvia was in a dilemma, although she was not happy with Dave, it is certain that she still loved him. That decision was a tough one,so she had to excuse herself to go home and think about it
When she got back home, she met her husband Dave at home with some people,they introduced themselves as forensics and that they just conducted a DNA test,to determine if Dave is the father of their girls,as he just wasn’t too sure,now this action by Dave broke the camel’s back. Immediately Sylvia went outside to call the FIDA director and informed her she wanted a divorce. As soon as she returned from the gate side where she made the call,Dave asked her who she was talking to but she ignored him,he asked her again,she ignored him,then he raised his hand to slap her and Sylvia told him to try it if he wants his family to conduct his burial that day๐ฑ Dave was shocked, the DNA people were shocked,her mother was shocked,the kids opened their mouths,everywhere stood still, because no one has ever heard Sylvia challenge her husband,ever. Sylvia warned Dave,that the day he will ever lay his hand on her and the kids again in that house,she will make sure he eats poi.son๐ฒ
Sylvia was angry,so angry,she felt humiliated,that that was the height of it. He stopped her from working,took away her dignity,family,sanity and now this? She has never cheated on Dave nor even think of it,so how could he claim that his girls were not his to the extent of conducting a DNA? She was done,done with the marriage,done with the stress,done with the low self esteem. She couldn’t wait for morning. As soon as it was day, Sylvia took her children and her mother to Bola’s place. She resolved not to stay in Dave’s house until the divorce was over.
Dave came back the next day and didn’t meet Sylvia,her mother and the kids,he was surprised but thought she will soon return,as she has no one or anywhere to go. A day turned to days,days to weeks but she didn’t return,nor pick his calls,rather she was given a letter by FIDA to the Police station in their division to give Dave a restraining order because he was sending her threatening messages. When a policeman came to offer him the letter,that was when he knew she meant business. Dave started to panic,he went to the chiefs in the area to beg his wife,sent pastors, elders and the people she respects to plead with her,but Sylvia refused. Then one day, a messenger from FIDA office came to give him a summon letter. Sylvia too was invited,two or three other relations were asked to come with them. When they were all gathered,the Director told Dave that Sylvia wants a divorce ๐คฏ Dave was dazed ๐ณ, he thought he was dreaming,he didn’t know she had gone that far. He started to beg,cry and roll on the floor, he said he loved his wife and can never leave her. He pleaded with everyone to forgive him, he knelt before Sylvia and begged her with tears in his eyes and snoot in his nose,the sight was so pathetic and Sylvia couldn’t bear it. She forgave him but insisted that he signs an undertaking. A paper was brought and she listed out everything she wanted and didn’t want,he signed and promised never to maltreat her,underate her,beat her,womanize or do anything to make her sad again.
Sylvia forgave Dave but took a while to go back to their house, the day she went back, Dave bought her a brand new car, he got her a washing machine,a new iphone and some beautiful clothes. He changed really and apologized to her mother and siblings,he begged the children too and promised to be a great father and husband.
But will this change last? Has Dave become a new person? Only time will tell๐คท.
