Sylvia couldn’t believe her ears,that Dave wanted her to be known as a market woman and not as a professional nurse,midwife and specialist in gender selection? Wow! Right there she knew that her husband was jealous of her success and medical achievements,but then🤔 she had always wanted a happy home,where she will be loved and accepted,treasured and her girls treated well. So what did she do? She agreed 😩. Just for peace to reign, just maybe Dave will be nice to her and start treating her with respect, maybe if she complied,he would stop chasing everything in skirt and come home more often.
So in order to deceive her further,he gave her 150,000 and collected her ATM where she had over 5 million naira saved from her salaries and told her he will help her invest it. Hmmm, Sylvia got a shop for 24,000 and bought some foodstuffs with the rest,it was barely enough but still substantial,as naira was valuable then. Peace reigned for a while untill the day she wanted to make use of some money,she went to where her husband kept the ATM card,took it to the nearest bank ATM terminal,inserted it and after checking her balance,she discovered she had only 23,000 naira left there😱. Immediately she called her husband to ask how 5million finished from the acct in a week,but what Dave told her almost sent her to the crazy world,he said he mistakenly invested the money in a betting company but lost it all as he betted on the wrong football club🤯. Sylvia almost fainted,all her life savings gone,where will she start from?
It took her a while to recover from that shock but then,life goes on. Once in a while,she still offer counselling and guide many women who wanted a particular gender and she gets paid well,though less than what she would have earned if she had being working professionally. From there,she was able to get enough money to stock her shop. Meanwhile, Dave had stop giving her money for upkeep,he only pays the school fees and expected her to handle the rest, especially food,after all she sold foodstuffs. Sylvia was prudent and very accountable,she made sure she kept all records and didn’t spend extravagantly. After a month of working,Dave came back home and went straight to Sylvia’s shop,what he saw there shocked him,the shop was filled to the brim,unlike what he was expecting and immediately,his face changed, he demanded that she closed the shop and follow him home. When they got home,he asked for her records books which she gave him willingly,and on checking,he discovered that her business was now worth almost a million naira,Dave was ma.d,he was angry 😡,his plan wasn’t going as planned,he thought by not dropping money for food,the shop would have being empty or almost empty. There and then,he started accusing her of being a cheat,called her a pros.titu.te that collects money from men. He was so livid and gave her a new law,that no matter what she does,every money must enter his account from the business 😩.
Sylvia was dumbfounded,due to her husband cutting her off from family and friends,she had no one to talk to,except her pastor,after all he still allows her to go to church(a different church from the one she met Dave). The moment she got to church,she bursted into tears and told her pastor everything that has being going on,he was flabbergasted,he couldn’t believe his ears😲. That a man could be this wicked? He picked his phone and called Dave,but he left his phone ringing severally as he knew why the pastor was calling. The pastor prayed with her and advised her to keep praying 😒. Sylvia went home feeling more dejected,as the church couldn’t offer any solution but what await her at home was better imagined than experienced. The moment she stepped into the house,Dave pounced on her like a tiger and beat her to unconsciousness. He seized her shop key and told her she would no longer leave the house again. He collected her phone and removed her sim cards,broke them and left the house angrily.
It was Charity,her first daughter who got some water and splashed it over Sylvia to bring her back from unconsciousness. Luckily for her,as if she had known that a day like this would come,she had writen some important numbers in a small book and was able to copy out her mother’s number. She went to a neighbor to call her. Sylvia’s mother arrived the next day and the moment they saw themselves,they both started crying 😭😭😭. Sylvia had become a shadow of herself and her mother couldn’t believe that her once beautiful daughter had become a caricature of her true self. The sight was so pitiful and no one would see them and not join them in crying😔.
Her mother was so angry after hearing everything that has happened,she wondered if Dave,who looked innocent was capable of doing such,she picked up her phone and called him, she greeted him and went straight to the point by asking him if the promises he made to her and her husband was to turn their daughter to a punching bag? Dave was tongue tied as he didn’t expect Sylvia to have access to calling any of her family members. He told mama to go to hell,he said he has married her already so no one has the right to intrude into his marriage with Sylvia. He immediately sent some money to Sylvia and ask her through the mother’s phone to escort mama to the car park the next day,as he mustn’t come home to meet her there. Sylvia’s mother was in shock,she couldn’t believe her ears, she thought her ears were playing a game of hearing nonsense. Sylvia wasn’t surprised but this was the height of it. She stood up immediately and went out to get a small phone with the money he sent for Mama’s transport back home,on her way to the junction,she met her young friend turned sister who use to patronise her business. This friend would turn out to be her saviour 😇.
