I MARRIED A DEVIL PART THREE
Sylvia was so happy about the pregnancy,and so was Dave. After all,he had always wanted to be a dad,and he had heard that pregnancy use to make many women weak,tired and even lazy,so hopefully,Sylvia won’t be able to go to work,thereby losing her job. The reverse was the case,as she was among the few who glowed when pregnant,very agile and did not experience severe pregnancy symptoms. She continued going to work and excelling.
Her pregnancy was smooth and she had a bouncing baby girl,just like she wanted. Ever since they got married,Dave stopped going to church, it was only on their baby’s christening that he followed Sylvia to church,as it was compulsory that the child’s father must be present. Throughout the christening,Dave slept. Sylvia would nudge him to wake severally an that annoyed Dave seriously,which led to him beating her up when they got home😔. Remember she just had a baby and couldn’t defend herself,he also did not allow any of her family members to come visiting. He beat her so hard that she fell unconscious but no one to help her and he left her there and went out😭. It was the cry of her newborn that woke her up from her temporary coma after several hours.
The beatings didn’t stop,nor the womanizing,downgrading and constant dehumanization. This led to Sylvia having a nervous breakdown and she had to leave her job😔. Since the Teaching hospital was far from the house and she was always on night duties most of the time,she decided to apply to a State children hospital that is just a few kilometers to their house,maybe,just maybe her hubby will like that more, moreover,the salary is lesser than her initial one. But was Dave satisfied? No. She worked there for few years and had their second daughter. She eventually left and started working at a local community health center as their matron. With that,she had more time to dedicate to the family and herself. But alas, nothing would satisfy Dave.
Sylvia lost herself,her self esteem nosedived. On a particular day,she called her husband and informed him she would like them to talk. So few days later,he came back from work and they talked. She asked him what exactly does he want from her,so as to have peace in their family? What Dave said would only leave a bitter taste in the mouth of any sane person 😱. Dave told her that he doesn’t want her to be an active nurse anymore, rather,he wants her to be a market woman,she should stop working as a nurse and start selling foodstuffs in a nearby shop,very close to their house🥹.
