The days that followed were interesting as hell, I learnt and mastered how to use different weapons, learnt how to hide weapons, how to relate with security agencies, learnt the rule of engagement during any operation, learnt how to recover money and learnt how to talk during every operation. I equally discovered that behind most uncaught kidnapping gang was a massive trail of networks, from food vendors to informants, logistic providers down to the infantry (people who did the main kidnapping). It was a multimillion business empire. Within a month Kelvin was able to pull off four successful jobs that earned him about a hundred million but after all the deductions he probably ended up with half the amount but then it was worth it for a month job. The funny thing was that by appearance he never looked intelligent enough to pull of such strings. I badly wished to be like him, I badly wanted to have my own gang but I still had a long way to go.
However the state government and security agencies were soon very much on our tail And we had to lie low for a while. By this time I had already been able to rent a decent apartment at the outskirts of the town. Till this time I had not been able to fully participate in any operation but I always joined to observe.
Kelvin who a good boss who treated everyone respectfully and all his boys loved and were willing to die for him. He was equally a philanthropist who owned up to forty commercial buses. On the outside people thought he was just a transporter and a political tout, nobody apart from his associates knew he was into kidnapping.

However in the criminal world, there will always be snitches and rival gangs who are envious on your success and that was exactly what happed to Kelvin. Yes he knew he had enemies, he knew the government were after kidnappers but he never knew that his time was up and he was set up by no other person than his friend Giwa who broke a deal with the government to turn over his friend in exchange for money and opportunity to be in charge of collecting taxes from all motor parks across the capital city.
Giwa had always been Kelvin’s friend since childhood and they both lived a rough life of crime together before Giwa decided to be a full time politician after acquiring a little wealth from crime. So as all the kidnap activities were going on in the state, Giwa knew all along who was behind most of them but because Kelvin was his friend, he kept the secret to himself but afterwards when almost all the other kidnap kingpins had been caught and their houses burnt, kidnapping of high profile people and their families still continued, the state governor became very worried and offered a very huge sum of about 500 million with other mouth watering deals to anyone who would expose the kingpin behind the recent kidnappings. I believe the deal was so tempting that Giwa decided to rat on his friend for political.
However on of Giwa’s boys tried to warn Kelvin about his friend’s frequent visit to the governor’s lodge which he had to confront his friend who then claimed he was simply pursing a government contract and he believed since he already knew him as a politician and so visiting the governor’s lodge wasn’t out of the ordinary, unfortunately little did he know that the contract his friend was pursing was his head.
