Life Of Crime 1
A Coolvalstories ACTION SERIES
written by Valentine Nkemjika
Prologue
Get rich by any means or die trying had always been the slogan in my head. Coming from a poor background with little education or skill I knew my chances of making cool legitimate money in Nigeria was very slim. Nevertheless I was determined to make it huge. I was determined to be a multi millionaire before the age of thirty.
At the age of sixteen my father took me to Onitsha to serve his brother and learn business from him but I couldn’t stay for more than a week before stealing the man’s money and taking the next available bus to Lagos where I ended up sleeping under the bridge for three nights before meeting someone who introduced me to a drug kingpin.
I ended up selling all manner of hard drugs in Lagos for three years before I was caught and jailed for two years.
My name is Daniel popularly known as DON KING. This is my true life story. Relax and pay attention as I take you round my life of crime and death.
Episode 1
Immediately after I got out of detention, I headed down to Owerri, imo state with nothing. I regretted wasting away my time selling drugs in the dirty streets of Lagos and hoping I would hit it big from there. I was determined to do something more daring, something I would have no regrets even when caught. I was done with selling drugs and now looked towards armed robbery or kidnapping. It was a job worth millions for any successful hit.
‘’but how do I start?,
‘’which gang should I join?
‘’should I form my own gang?’’ I wondered over and over. Nevertheless I needed to survive and basically had nothing on me as I jumped down from the bus around 7pm in Owerri . I needed to eat, I needed somewhere to sleep but had no cash at hand. I had to think quickly and improvise.
‘’how do I get quick cash now?’’ I wondered desperately as I walked towards bank road.
I aimlessly roamed the streets walking to and fro , looking around and thinking desperately. Luckily for me as I was passing through a bank along one of the inner streets, the street lights instantly went off turning everywhere into darkness
‘’oh NEPA don do their worse’’ I had a female voice emerging from the ATM and walking towards my direction exclaim. My head quickly signaled me of the opportunity and without wasting time, I rushed at her, slapped and sent her back backwards in shock.
If you are in a disadvantage position during a robbery operation, displaying a show of strength has this means of keeping the other party in submission. If I hadn’t slapped her, she would have screamed or dragged with me or even tried running, but my slap left her terribly stunned and shaken.
‘’your money or I will shoot you this time’’ I threatened. She quickly freed her purse for me. I snatched it from her, opened it and took the naira notes inside, then flung the purse backward and took to my heels. All these happened within a minute.
‘’I was just robbed. Help me’’ I heard her scream as I disappeared into the next street under the shadow of darkness. I was barely up to two hours in Owerri and had already robbed my first victim. It was the first out of too many robberies I would carry out in the city.
I soon located a nice hotel in Aladinma area, where I spent the night and planned the next move. I got forty thousand naira from the robbery and it was not bad for my first outing. However that wasn’t really the type of robbery or money I needed. i knew for a fact that the chances of getting caught in that type of snatch and run robbery was very high. Firstly I had no weapon, I had no gang, I had no mobility for easy escape and I knew I would end up getting lynched and burned if I was to continue.
I made up my mind to form or join a gang as soon as possible.
Really love this story. can’t wait to read the next episode
