STAGED AFFECTION
(Episode 20) Final
The next day, I tried calling Lizy’s number, but it wasn’t connecting. I tried again and again, but it was the same story. The next day, I tried and it was still the same. I decided to send her a text message.
After sending the text, I tried calling Nichelle’s phone, but it wasn’t going through either. KC, who was sitting with me, shook his head.
“You shouldn’t have left Nichelle for Lizy,” he said, his voice laced with concern. “Now see what the whole thing has turned out to be.”
I sighed, feeling a pang of regret. “The plane ticket was just for me to meet Lizy and tell her that it’s Nichelle my heart beats for,” I explained. “Then I would come back to Nichelle in a proper way.”
KC nodded understandingly. “I get it, but see what the whole thing has turned out to be,” he repeated.
Just as we were talking, Nichelle’s mother called me. I immediately picked up, my heart racing with worry.
“Please come to the house now,” she said, her voice trembling. “Nichelle is trying to take her life.”
I felt a chill run down my spine. “What? Oh no, I’m on my way,” I said, already standing up.
KC and I rushed outside and hailed a taxi. We sped to Nichelle’s house, my mind racing with worst-case scenarios.
When we arrived, Nichelle’s mother was waiting for us, her face etched with worry. “Thank you for coming,” she said, leading us inside.
We found Nichelle in her room, looking pale and shaken. She had a bottle of pills in her hand, and her eyes were red from crying.
“Nichelle, no” I exclaimed, rushing to her side. “Please don’t do this.”
She looked up at me, her eyes filled with tears. “You left me for her,” she said, her voice barely above a whisper. “I have nothing left to live for.”
******************
I tried to explain to Nichelle, “I never left you for Lizy, I went to settle things with her and told her that it’s you my heart beats for.”
But Nichelle was unconvinced, “That’s a lie,” she said, her voice shaking with emotion.
Just then, KC entered by saying, “Nichelle he’s telling the truth, Razi loves you.”
Nichelle was taken aback, her eyes wide with shock. She looked at KC, then at me, and I could see the confusion in her eyes.
But before anyone could say anything else, Lizy walked into the room, and we were all surprised to see her. Nichelle’s mother, however, didn’t seem surprised at all.
“I’m very disappointed in both of you,” she said, her voice stern. “How could you both lie and play me like that? You told me you were dating, but it was all a ruse.”
I was shocked, I had never expected Nichelle’s mother to be aware of our deception.
Nichelle was speechless, her eyes fixed on her mother.
“I noticed the shouts in your room and I had to bring in Lizy to find out what was going on,” her mother continued. “Only to discover that you both were playing me. Nichelle, you don’t have a man, but you’re lying to me?”
Nichelle’s mother turned to me, “And you, Razi, you’re just as guilty. I’m very disappointed in both of you.”
But then she surprised us all by saying, “However, I forgive you both. I forgive you because I see that you both have fallen in love with each other.”
Lizy spoke up, “It was all our plan, we wanted to see if you both would work.”
Nichelle’s mother nodded. ” But let me make one thing clear, I don’t want any more lies. You both should be honest with me from now on.”
As soon as she finished speaking, Nichelle rushed into my arms, and we shared a passionate kiss. We couldn’t hold it in anymore, our love for each other was too strong.
We all rejoiced, happy that the truth was finally out, and that we could all move forward with our lives.
Two months later, we got married and lived happily.
Today, I want to share some valuable advice with you, based on the story we’ve been following.
1. Honesty is the best policy: Telling lies might seem like an easy way out, but it can lead to a web of deceit and hurt those around you. Always strive to be truthful, even if it’s difficult.
2. Treat others with kindness: Never treat people like trash, as you never know what they’re going through. Be empathetic, understanding, and compassionate towards others.
3. Parents, don’t pressure your children: Pressuring your children into marriage or any other decision can lead to resentment and unhappiness. Allow them to make their own choices and support them in their decisions.
4. Open up your feelings: If you’re in love, don’t be afraid to express your feelings. Holding back can lead to missed opportunities and regret. Be bold, take a chance, and tell that special someone how you feel.
And remember, love can be found anywhere. Don’t limit yourself to societal expectations or boundaries. Be open to new experiences, and you might be surprised where you find love.
Lastly, love is a risk worth taking. Don’t be afraid to put yourself out there and risk getting hurt. The rewards of love far outweigh the risks.
Take these lessons to heart, and I wish you all the best on your journey to finding love and happiness.
Nichelle is very lucky
