3RD OCTOBER 1997

🎊🎊 FINAL EPISODE 🎊🎊

Everyone have their struggles, simply because it is harder than you expected isn’t reason enough to quit. Even with bruised ankles, crushed ego and empty stomach, you still have to keep pushing forward until the last day you breathed out your last air. Samuel fidelis Idoko was a man who had lived in hell and survived its suffocating burning heat. Samuel, from toddling stages had seen bloodd, witnessed betrayer and known what pains and sacrifices were. Every single obstacles Samuel had gone through. Every pains and tears,. Sleepless nights and dreadful nightmares shaped his life. He fought against the carnivorous grudges within him, even though he had heard that whispering voice of evill urging him to killl the entire lineage of Jege several times but he tried so hard to suppressed such thoughts. Now that he was at the most important stage of his adventure, his lifetime dreams, he prayed silently that his parents spirit helped him attained victory against the vicious Jege.

“I don’t give long terms loans sir, and for the last time, let me reminds you that, whoever, no matter who the person might be, if you fails in honouring our loan agreement even for s single seconds, your collaterals will be seized without renegotiation” the owner and chairman of DE AUTO PAY RENDERS sternly reminded chairman Jege. “Don’t worry about the terms and conditions of the loan, two months is big enough and i promise to repays on time. My only condition is that, you should refused any plea by Samuel Idoko to lend money from here. Also, you should assured him, give him hope until it is a day to the shareholders meeting. As long as you keep to this rules, I’m ready to pay the fifty percent interest rate” chairman Jege said and they shook hand happily to a successful business agreement. A total of three billion naira was borrowed by Jege from DE AUTO PAY RENDERS to be repaid in two months time with a fifty percent interest rate totalling the amount to be repaid to a whooping sum of 4.5 billion naira.

Mr Jege was now like an unleashed dog, he howled proudly from one directors house to the other and within a space of four days, he had in his hand a total of 67 percent of the company’s shares. With such an enormous numbers of shares in his custody, Mr Jege was sure to enthrone his son Donald into the position of the BEICO CONSTRUCTION LIMITED chairmanship. “Give a child a chance to see your head, he will think he’s taller than you. Hahahaha!!!” Jege left out a healthy sarcastic laughter after his last dinner meeting with his yes-men.

Richard had already met his Waterloo, he already known his fate. With the shareholders meeting day left with just a day, Richard only had two solid supporters whose shares were not up to ten percent. Everyone who believed in him betrayed him because of money. He took a deep breath and drank himself to sleep. It was exactly ten minutes past eight o’clock in the night, a day to the shareholders meeting. Donald was summoned by his father for the last words of advice before he officially becomes the head of the company. “Son, it was a difficult battle, i fought with my last strength and yes, i lost some crawls too but thank heavens, I’m able to secure your victory. Don’t forget, lions live all their lives fighting. It’s either they fight to feed or to prove themselves the king of the jungle. They is no life without fighting and son, lions don’t develop fangs for fancy, it’s for survival. When you get to the top, everyone including those you’re a thousand times better than will have the chance to pull you down so you must be ruthlesss when dealing with those who wish to prey on you” Jege advised his son about the struggles of being at the top. Donald thanked him for his efforts and promised to follow his leads. Donald’s heart was filled with happiness, great inexplicable ecstasy. Finally, his dreams was going to come through. He was grateful to his father and to Rose who gave him a timely information.

“Fill it up” Samuel told Nikolas drunk and sad. For over an hour now, Samuel had been drinking strong alcohol. No matter how much Nikolas tried to persuade him to stopped drinking, it fell on deaf ears. Samuel gazed unblinkingly at the nightly sky that was beaming with stars, hundreds of them if not thousands. As he watched them tinkling in the sky, he remembered his mother’s night time song. He remembered his parents sitting together in the parlour while he sits before them as they told him him beautiful stories. As Samuel’s memory took him back to years ago, he could vividly see his mother singing and rhythmically clapping to the song she sang. As Samuel remembered his mother, sad tears filled with sorrows and bitterness streamed down his eyes. As he gulped the last drops of the gin, he staggered up and walked towards the pool. “Boss!!” Nikolas called abruptly fearing that Samuel would fall into the pool but Samuel signalled him to not come close to him. Nikolas couldn’t help but feel his pains.

Samuel stared blankly and intently at the simmering pool water that dances to the illumination of the night stars and lights. As he stared at it, he could see the small little six years old boy running exhaustively for his life. As Samuel saw his poor young self, great anger welled up in him and he bite down on his lips painfully.

Finally, it was the day, the most awaited day. Everyone were in great suspense to know the outcome of the meeting would be. Who was going to be the chairman?, everyone already knows the outcome already even though it hadn’t been officially carried out. Jege and his son were dressed in a well neatly ironed suits, their faces beamed with happiness as they headed to the office.

Rose had just finished dressing, she had just dropped her call with Donald when a black bus stopped at her gate waiting patiently for her. “If you still want to keep your life then don’t even let us hear your breathing” the huge muscular chested man with black mask over his face warned as they zoomed off. Rose’s heart was pumping like the rumbling of the world falling as she was being taken to an unknown location.

“Who go to a battlefield just because he’s powerful and strong, such a man will loose woefully. Every fighter have their strategies, for Samuel, he had his own, a card stronger than anyone can imagined. Last night, he had promised his parents a victory in the shareholders meeting. “Once you see my call, play it” Samuel instructed Terry as he entered into the car heading to the office.

“Stop!!” A hoarsed like a cursedd voice screamed like a spoilt exhaust blocking Samuel’s car. Before Nikolas and his men could react, a group of over ten hoodlums had gathered them and screaming at the top of their voices causing unnecessary troubles. “But what’s the problem?” Nikolas asked but the hoodlums continued hailing Samuel asking for money. When they called for Samuel for a long time without a result, they became destructive and started breaking the windshields but Nickolas and his men watched idly by without fighting back. Passerby wondered what was going on as the commotion caused serious traffic jam.

“The meeting must begin now even though one candidate is abs—-“. “I’m here, my apologies again for coming late” Samuel said from the door and everyone turned at him. Chairman Jege couldn’t believed himself. Samuel, from his intelligence information, he already knew what Jege was up to so he ordered an Uber to take him to the office.

“The voting now begins” the moderator announced but instead of casting votes, the hall was full of shamefful murmurings. On the display monitor, a clear videos of Mr Jege bribing several directors plays. “Abomination!!” The few directors who maintained their dignity lamented.

While Jege was busy bribingg and manipulating people for supports, Samuel was secretly taking videos of him. Every guilty directors buried their heads in heaps of shamee. Chairman Jege was shaking like an epileptic patients, tears streamed down his eyes. The young boy truly beat him to his game. Donald and his father were captured several times in shading dealings and in accordance with the company’s constitution, Donald was automatically disqualified and police were called to take them into custody.

“I can walk myself” Mr Jege said as the policeman tried to forced him out. When he was about to enter the police car, he looked at the gigantic building of the BEICO CONSTRUCTION LIMITED, he nodded his head in tears as he watched his son been pushed into the police car like a common criminall.

“Samuel successfully won the chairmanship position by votes but as the moderator was about to hand him the official seal, he stood up and began to speak. “they are some men who only eat what belongs to others, they’re also some men who only eat what belongs to themselves. Today, you are seeing a man who don’t eat what belongs to others. I fought this battle for my parents, today is the day BEICO CONSTRUCTION LIMITED is hand over to the rightful owner” Samuel said as he transferred the official seal to Richard who was beyond astonished.

DE AUTO PAYS RENDERS belonged to Samuel. He intentionally shared the information with Rose became he knew she would leak it to the right target. Rose was used but because of her betrayal and emotional sentiment, Samuel got the best of the game. “Calm nerves strike the strongest blows. A man must learn to be calm in a blowing hot situation” Samuel told Nikolas after the meetings.

“For bribing and corruption and for manipulating the integrity of the judges. You are hereby sentenced to ten years in prison while Donald Jege is hereby sentenced to ten years in prison for the same crime. This should serve as a deterrent to the society. The long arms of justice will reach every offenders” the judge announced.

The Jege’s family couldn’t repays the loan, their houses and cars used as collateral were seized and sold. His family chased out into the dark empty street as Jege himself and Donald rot in jail.
“A little delay is okay but don’t give up trying again” Samuel said tapping Nikolas gently on the shoulder as they walked down the road reminiscing about their entire journey.
