Final Episode
The vigilantes left to the bush with Jackson leading the way. By the time they got there, Pastor Ezekiel was still digging the grave. The men went into the bush and surrounded him, ordering him to keep the shovel aside. Pastor Ezekiel was shocked, he couldn’t believe his eyes, how where they able to find him, it was not possible for them to have known someone was in the bush by that time, then his eyes roamed and fell on Jackson, his eyes popped out with his mouth agape, he needed no one to tell him Jackson was behind it.
The vigilantes dragged him out of the bush like a common criminal, and of course with the corpse on his hands. He was taken to the T junction where the vigilantes stayed, they handcuffed him and kept him till morning.
As early as 7 in the morning, they took Pastor Ezekiel out for a public disgrace. They stripped him naked and made him carry Ify’s body on his hands. The vigilantes sounded the gong to alert everyone in the city that there was something going on. People were shocked when they found out it was pastor Ezekiel. But mama Ify was more shocked when she saw pastor Ezekiel naked carrying someone on his hands. Pastor Ezekiel fell to his knees in the presence of mama Ify and the body fell to the floor, lo and behold it was her beloved Ify
Mama Ify was numb, she could not talk, shout nor cry, she just stood there. Her only child was gone. Ify’s father went on a six months business trip and would be back in a week time, where will she tell him Ify went to. Mama Ify felt like a big knife was stabbed in her heart, she wailed in agony, she begged someone to pinch her from the nightmare, but it was reality. Jackson ran to the house to inform his mother of the latest development, but he met the shock of his life.
His mother was dead, her body was too weak to condone the numerous sedative pastor Ezekiel gave her two drink all the while Ify was there for the demon to be casted out. Jackson angrily took a kitchen knife and walked hastily to where pastor Ezekiel was beaten, but he was held on time not to stab his father.
After the public disgrace, pastor Ezekiel was taken to the police station, he was immediately locked up and charged for two murders. Ify’s body was buried the same day, while Ezekiel’s wife was buried two months after.
