CHAPTER EIGHT
Seraphin and Mike made about two hours before coming out of the room. When she was out she walked up to me and greeted pretending to act nice but I ignored her and equally pretended to also not to have noticed her. I Sensed there was something fishy about the two. The emotional outburst showed by Seraphin, spending about 1 hour 30 minutes to come out and the manner in which she acted around Mike. Well I decided I was going to mind my business.
Mike saw Seraphin off and while coming, she bombed into Samira who was coming down to see me. They met at the door, which had been left open by Mike. I could see and hear them.
“ Hello Mike!”
“ Hello Sam, Comment tu vas ?”( Hello Sam, how are you)
“Bien et toi?”( Good and you)
“ Not as good as I wanted it to be”
“ pourquoi?”( Why)
“ C’est une longue histoire”( it’s a long story)
“Ok, it was not mauvais hah?
“Story for another day” Mike avoided the topic “ But wait ohh, what happened that you visited me today?” he said smiling.
“Don’t tell me it’s because of that Big head inside?. Pointed at me on the couch
“ I can literally hear you, You know”
“ Well ehhh.. I just wanted to say hi to Welly. Ehhh… and also you”
“ Entry fee is 5k oh” Mike replied stretching his right hand forth putting the other on the waste and tapping his feets on the ground like a woman who’s patiently impatiently waiting for her husband to come home.
“ uuhhh?” Sam said, looking confused “Entry fee?”
“Ehe naw!. Since he came you girls in have decided to Pay my house Regular visit like he was some celebrity.”
“ Oh please Mike!” she laughed hysterically as she made her way into the apartment.
Samira came in and sat with me whiles Mike came in and took his Jacket and said he was going out to meet his friends to drink. We spoke for at least an hour. I was giving her all the gist of what had happened today and she just went on laughing. She informed me that she had only heard that Mike was hot blooded but She had actually never met him.
Few minutes later she told me she was going to get some sleep since she had to go somewhere tomorrow. I wanted to know her more and asked her about her self and family but I was a little scared she wouldn’t accept to stay a little. But I asked anyways.
“ Please can we chat a little more?. I mean just for 30 minutes.”
“ Okay. Emmm sure. What are we going to be talking about”.
” About you, I mean I want to know you better.”
“ Where are you from, your parents.” I stopped to lock at her as if I had forgotten something “ Do you have a Job here, what do you do?
“You need to calm down. Emmm, one, une …” placed her two first finger on her forehead and tapped it several times “ On appelle Ça quoi ehh ?. Emm un question at a time.”
“You mean One question at a time?. I said waiting for her affirmation. “
“Oui,!! “
“ I speak very bad English noh?”
“ Not really, your trying more than I can even try to Speak french”
“But you try noh?.”
“ yes “ I said laughing.
She told me all about herself except what she did. She told me she was an orphan, but she worked and paid her house rents and school fees at once. She was actually going to the same University as myself and in fact she was in the same department as I was, the only difference is that she was in the third level.
We spent at least two hours discussing for like two extra hours. She drilled me on the different lectures and what they liked and did not like. I actually discovered that she was not only beautiful like I had described but also very intelligent too.
When it was about 10, she excused herself to go sleep so she could go out tomorrow. I didn’t bother asking her where and what she had to do tomorrow that made her so eager to sleep early. I didn’t want to sound too close and insecure. I decided I was going to see her room for the first time and by the time I made it to open the door for her, we bombed into Seraphin who came to informed me that Mike had been arrested.

CHAPTER NINE
At that moment I didn’t know whether to panic or not. Seraphin too wasn’t making matters easy for me as she wasn’t letting me think with her screams. She also wasn’t telling me what happened and why it happened. I let her calm down after 30 minutes then I asked her what happened which she only told me that Mike’s friend had called her to inform her. I asked if he left any information, concerning where he was taken to but she refused.
I became even more worried and stressed at the same time. I thought for a while to call my cousin abroad, but I was certain that Mike will definitely get angry at me for doing so. I decided I was going to look for other means. My main problem was knowing the whereabouts of the station he had been taken to.
But since no one had any information, I was completely confused and lost of ideas.
Seraphin and Samira had now gone back to their rooms. I was now left alone trying to brainstorm and think where he could have gone to. I thought about getting his friends number to talk to him and maybe get more information from him, so I decided to go to Seraphin ‘s room. On my way to Seraphin ‘s room I met Keren on the door. It was already 12: o’clock so I wondered why she will be coming to my room in her transparent outfit.
“Where are you going to Keren?” I asked blocking her from entering.
“ Coming to your house of Course. Or am no longer welcome here?”
“ Not that. I am really worried now and I really don’t have time for the extra headache your coming to give.?”
“ Oh wow, I never knew that I gave you that much headache. I am sorry, but it’s just that…, I… I Like you Welly” she said sending her tiny painted fingers across my neck.
“ Please! Keren, stop all this rubbish okay, I don’t like you that way. I am sorry but your not my type.”
“Ouch!! That hurts so bad!!”
“Besides I don’t even have the time for that now my brother is missing, or should I say kidnapped. Am not interested in whatever thing you feel” I said taking off her hands, left the door and went and sat down on the couch.
“ What happened to him?, How did it happen?” she asked closing the door behind her and joining me on the couch.
“ Seraphin Informed me this evening that he had been kidnapped. I was on my way to Her house to get the number of his friend to get more information. I can’t sleep”
“ Which of his friends? Because, I think I have most of the numbers of his friends.” She said going through her phone
“ I really have no idea. She didn’t tell me his name either, but I will go to her place now and get the name or contact, anything I don’t know.”
I said and rushed out leaving her in my apartment.
Few minutes later I returned with the name and it turned out she had his number. She called him and they spoke out for a whole while and she dropped.
From the information gotten from Mike’s friend, they had been drinking when all of a sudden, Three men in Uniform came from no where and chased them away. Mike was ordered to remain still. They left Mike with them, walk a little farther from the place. They stood at a distance and watched how they were hitting Mike. It seemed they had been asking questions to him and just like the Mike we know would react, they lost it and started pouncing on him with. According to his friend, they had no idea where they had taken him. They went to the police station to check if he had been arrested, but was told there was no one with the name Mark, registered in that cell. I laid down on the couch while Keren laid down placing her head on my laps. I simply ignored her and fell asleep.
In the morning at about 5: 54 am, we heard noise from outside. I got up and opened my window to see what was happening. The noise was coming from the gate outside. People had gathered around someone. I was tired and didn’t want any more problems so I decided I was going to stay in my house and mind my business. Keren was still sleeping while all this was going on.
Few minutes later I heard Seraphin shouting and calling my name outside, so I rushed down only to be informed that the person outside was a Mike. I immediately rushed to the scene, where everyone was now gathered. Those who knew him went closer to check his pause if he was still alive or death.
I froze when I saw his face. It had been completely damage. His eyes swollen like bees had stink them. I went down and kneeled beside him touched his neck and checked his pulse. He was still very much alive but seems to have passed out. I asked Seraphin and the people around to quickly help me get a taxi for us to take him to the hospital. I rushed in and took my phone and money too.
When I was rushing out that’s when Keren woke up and rushed behind me asking me what had happened that I was rushing. I pleaded that she locked my door and keep the keys so that when I get back I will take them from her.
We arrived the hospital on time and he was attended to by the doctors. I didn’t have enough money because I had paid my school fees already so I called my cousin, and lied that Mike had an accident. He was equally worried and sent me enough money that covered everything, including his drugs and stay at the hospital
