The New Apartment episode 4

The New Apartment Episode Four

That night, Jane had a peaceful sleep for a long time. She did not wake up or even turn because the carryover of sleep from the previous day was still in her eyes. Her sleep was peaceful because the little girl’s voice did not disturb her for at least six hours. Generally, she has had a very good night rest, but around 3am, the demon haunting the apartment returned. It returned with higher intensity. It was louder and scarier, almost as if someone had gone to increase the volumne.

“You people think you will sleep? I’m not going to allow you to sleep. You think you have settled me? You think I will disappear? No way, I will not go anywhere. My blood was spilt in on this house and I will take the life of everyone who lives in it. All of you will soon die. I’m still here to give you trouble. I’m your enemy number one. Consider yourselves dead.” The voice said. Jane stood up from her bed and ran to the living room, but it was just as if the voice was running after her. She was constantly looking back because she felt as if someone was going to grab her from behind.

As she was running, NEPA took light and the whole apartment became dark. Jane had left her phone in her bedroom when she was running away. This meant she had nothing to use as light.

“You think you can run away from me. You have nowhere to run to. Wherever you go, I will follow you because I’m a spirit. I’m not limited by space or time. Even if you run to the streets, I will follow you.” The little girl’s voice said from the ceiling. The whole room was dark. As Jane was running helter skelter in the dark and trying to locate her entrance door, she hit her leg on a chair and fell. She fell so badly, but she could not remain down because of fear. She managed to drag herself up. She held on to the wall and tried everything she could to find the door, but she failed.

“Am I still in my normal senses?” Jane asked herself. She pinched her skin to be sure she was still the person in the room. She felt pain in every part of her body. It was as if someone had used spiritual ‘koboko’ to beat her up. Jane managed to crawl to one of the chairs in the room. She sat down, but she was panting heavily. She used her hands to cover her ears because she did not want to hear anything again from the little girl.

“I can see you where you are right now. If I want to strike you dead, it is a very small thing to me. Striking you dead is a very small task. I can easily stretch my hand and it will land on your head and it will be the end of your life. You cannot run from me because I’m a spirit. You are dead already, but I’m still trying to pity you.” The girl said. Jane wondered if she would be able to make it out of the house alive.

“You are going to die a painful death. By the time I finish with you, you will regret paying for this apartment. I have told you that I’m going to kill everyone in this compound.” The voice said again.

“Jane had started shivering out of fear. She was feeling as if she was going to pass out any moment. She saw her life slipping away from her fingers like a flash of light. There was nothing she could do to save herself. She stood up again from the chair and attempted to leave the room. She was feeling as if her head was spinning. She was no longer thinking properly due to a high level of confusion. Her whole body was weak and paralised by intense fear and this was why she was unable to locate the entrance door.

“Lord, help me. I cannot help myself. If you leave me, I will die here tonight.” Jane prayed silently. As she was praying, she was meditating deeply in her heart, trying to think straight. After a moment of heartfelt silence, Jane was able to stand up and to walk straight to the entrance door without making a mistake.

“Oh God! Thank you.” Jane said. She quickly unlocked the door and ran out of the room. It was when she came outside that she saw that it was not NEPA that took light.

“Why is there light in other houses and there is no light in my own apartment? I was thinking it was NEPA that took light but clearly, it was only my own apartment that did not have light. What is happening? It is like the demon has the ability to put off electricity. Everything about this room right now has become so scary.” Jane said while weeping silently. She looked for a place and sat down to catch her breathe.

“Pastor Tunde lied to me. He told me the demon was gone but he lied. The spirit of the little girl is still there haunting the apartment. I don’t know what I did to the evil spirit. I was not the person who killed you. Well, Pastor Tunde will hear from me by daybreak. He will cough out all the money I gave to him. I’m not like those other people he deceives and collects their money. He will refund every dime I gave to her.” Jane said with tears in her eyes.

“I don’t know who sent me to rent an apartment in this area. First thing in the morning, I’m going to meet the landlord to ask for an explanation. If he fails to give me a solution to this problem, I will have no option than to ask him to refund my rent so that I can go and rent an apartment elsewhere. I don’t want to die yet.” Jane said. She spent the rest of the night outside.
