The Narcissist Pastor episode 15&16

Narcissistic Pastor

Episode 15: The Storm Before the Calm

Ruth stood her ground, her chest rising and falling with each deep breath.

Daniel had never seen this version of her before—the woman who refused to be silenced.

For years, he had controlled every part of her life. But now, that control was slipping through his fingers.

His jaw clenched as he took a slow step forward. “You think you can disobey me and nothing will happen?”

Ruth swallowed hard, but she didn’t back away. “I am not a child, Daniel. I am your wife, not your servant.”

His eyes darkened. “The Bible says a woman should submit to her husband in everything.”

“And the Bible also says a husband should love his wife as Christ loved the church,” Ruth shot back. Her voice didn’t shake this time. “Does Christ enslave the church? Does He silence it?”

Daniel opened his mouth, but nothing came out.

For the first time in their marriage, he had no response.

Ruth took a deep breath and turned away. “I won’t stop designing, Daniel. This is my gift, and I refuse to let you take it from me.”

Silence.

Then, a loud crash.

She turned back just in time to see Daniel’s plate shatter against the wall.

His breathing was heavy, his fists clenched. “I have given you everything. And this is how you repay me?”

Tears burned behind Ruth’s eyes, but she didn’t let them fall. Not this time.

She had expected him to react this way. She had lived with his anger long enough to know how it worked.

But this time, she wouldn’t shrink.

She wouldn’t apologize for existing.

Ruth straightened her shoulders and walked away, leaving Daniel standing in the wreckage of his own fury.

This was the moment everything changed.

Episode 16: The Shift Begins

The house felt different after that night.

Ruth moved with a newfound confidence, no longer walking on eggshells around Daniel. She no longer avoided his gaze, no longer hesitated to speak.

And Daniel?

He was struggling to understand what was happening.

For years, he had been in control—of Ruth, of their home, of everything. Now, that control was slipping.

He watched as she prepared food in silence, no longer seeking his approval with every move. He noticed how she no longer seemed afraid of him.

And worst of all, he noticed how peaceful she looked when she thought he wasn’t watching.

The shift was subtle, but it was there.

That evening, as Ruth sat in the bedroom, she received another message from Mama Bisi.

Mama Bisi: “More people have seen your work. Two more customers are interested. Are you ready?”

Ruth smiled. Ready?

She had never felt more ready in her life.

Ruth: “Yes. I am.”

She had made her choice. There was no turning back.

But as she put down her phone, she felt Daniel’s presence behind her.

She turned slowly, meeting his dark, unreadable gaze.

“You’ve changed,” he muttered.

Ruth’s heart pounded, but she held her ground. “Maybe I’m just becoming who I was always meant to be.”

For the first time, Daniel saw it.

He was losing his grip on her.

And he didn’t know what to do.
