Episode 7
Finally the Dday arrived and everyone gathered to party and elect Jones the new Capon. He made sure everyone present had enough to drink and eat. He held them spellbound with his speech. He promised to get everyone held by the police out in no time. He promised to teach everyone how to fish money. He promised to end violence among the frats but making all the rival frats collapse into theirs . he said what everyone wanted to hear and he was hailed.
But then when it was finally time for the votes which were nothing but a formality since he wasn’t contesting with anyone, Chuka showed up in company of about thirty Frat members from the neighboring university, shocking everyone present most especially Jones who never expected such interference.
‘’you snitch. You rat. You betrayer’’ he screamed at Jones who faked a smile, trying to be civil. Walking towards Chuka he offered the frat handshake but instead got a very hot slap in return while the boys with him grabbed Jones.
‘’instead of an election. There will be a trial and I’m using my position as an oldest member present to make this happen. You have abused our ways and you must pay for it’’ Chuka shouted, causing confusion among everyone.
‘’’liar you are the snitch. You set everything up. You gave up our capon. You were the last person with him before the police took him. Boys don’t listen to this impostor’’ Jones shouted, speaking some frat slang. From nowhere some of the boys backing him, picked up bottles and threw towards the boys from the other school while the boys tried to retaliate.
The next minute, there was chaos. Bottles were flying everywhere as everyone scampered and ran. Then a shot rang out. It wasn’t Jones that fired the shot but a shot was fired and Chuka was hit.
Gasping for air, Chuka fell face flat into the pool.
