EPISODE 9

Granny told the man she was interviewing to go and scream next. “No one is coming,” she said.
She stood up, only to find George and another potential suitor exchanging words.
George instructed his staff to throw the man out of his house, but the man wasn’t willing to go.
Granny stepped in. “What’s happening here? Where are the other suitors?” she asked.
George quickly held granny’s hand. “I sent them away. It’s not good to bring strangers to her home.”
He pushed the man out and asked his guards to kick him off his premises.
Granny laughed. “I can perceive something burning – jealousy, is that you?”
George turned to her, his face stern. “It’s not funny.”
Mainwhile Kate was watching the scene from upstairs. Granny had begged Kate to accept George’s marriage proposal, but Kate told Granny she didn’t want a marriage out of pity.
But Granny told her George liked her, and she would prove it. That George would be jealous – that’s why Granny arranged the guys from the dating apps.
George sighted Kate upstairs, laughing. He climbed up and went to her.
“You are laughing? So this is your plan and that of my drama queen grandma?”
Before she could reply, George bundled her in his arms, and they went to his room.
Meanwhile, Granny went outside the gate, where the guys were waiting for her. She gave them money each and thanked them for playing along.
“They thank her, then they left.”
Back in George’s room, Kate lay in bed. George came downstairs and picked up the baby things he bought.
He returned to the room and started showing Kate the things one by one.
Kate’s eyes sparkled as she saw the adorable baby clothes and toys.
“Aww, George, they’re beautiful!” Kate exclaimed.
George smiled, relieved. “I’m glad you like them,” he said.
Kate’s eyes shone with happiness.
“Thank you, George. You’re really excited about the baby, aren’t you?”
George nodded, his face aglow.
“I am. I want to give our child the best life possible.”
Kate’s heart swelled.
As they continued to admire the baby things, Kate’s thoughts turned to Granny’s earlier words.
“George, your grandma said you liked me. Is that true?”
George’s eyes met Kate’s, his gaze sincere.
“I more than like you, Kate. I care deeply for you.”
Kate’s cheeks flushed.
“I care for you too, George.”
George’s face lit up with a warm smile.
“I’m glad we’re on the same page now.”
“So, does it mean you have agreed to marry me?” George asked, his eyes shining with excitement.
Kate replied, “Yes.”
George smiled and kissed her.
Meanwhile, Granny and her trusted staff spied from the door, exchanging thrilled glances.
Granny whispered, “Mission complete.”
Just then, George noticed someone spying and caught a glimpse of Granny.
He smiled to himself and pushed the door close.
Granny and her staff quickly ran away.
George returned to Kate, removed the baby things from the bed, and held her hand.
“I promise you, henceforth, you will only be happy. I will make sure you don’t miss your parents.”
Kate’s eyes welled up with tears.
“Thank you, George.”
George continued, “I think the universe conspired for us to be together.”
As he leaned in to kiss her, his phone rang.
He picked up.
“Hello, Uncle,” George said.
Mr. Jace replied, “How are you doing, my son? You returned to the country and didn’t even bother to come see me.”
George apologized, “I’m sorry, Uncle. I’ll try to see you when I’m free.”
Mr. Jace said, “Congratulations to you, I heard you’re expecting a baby.”
George paused, wondering who could have told Uncle Jace.
He questioned himself, “Who told Mr. Jace? Only Grandma and Kate know… or maybe Grandma told him.”
“Are you still there?” Mr. Jace asked from the other end of the call.
George replied, “Yes, Uncle. Thank you so much.”
Mr. Jace invited, “I have a small party at my home tonight. Please, you and your fiancΓ©e should attend.”
George agreed, “I’ll come, Uncle.”
As he hung up the call, George’s mind raced.
“Who could have told Uncle Jace about the baby?” he wondered.
